Future plans

Me and Varay received the reward money from the Valden City guild branch.

Once split in half the reward only amounted to 20,000 gold coins for me and realized that working with others was not ideal for making money.

However it was still a strong step towards getting the 100k storage ring the shopkeep sold.

I let Varay keep the wagon and the horses as well so that she could transport or her friends back to Xyrus easier.

Besides, I wanted to take the road back rather than a gate.

I wanted to explore the plant life along the way because I had already figured out another career path to go along side adventuring.

Herbalist?

Potion Brewer?

Apothecary?

Those don't really sound right and alchemist definitely wouldn't fit, but basically I'm going to sell the things I make from the plants.

I can sell my lower grade paralytics, and poisons as there really doesn't seem to be any progress towards that kind of stuff here.

Eventually i could sell other types of mixtures, such as aphrodisiacs, headache reducers, muscle relaxers, as well as things to get rid of colds.

I'm sure this will be a lot more difficult than I imagine as I have to actually find said plants that will elicit these effects, but I'm thinking wide scale.

For now I'll start with just selling my paralytics and poisons.

My weakest are the paralytics that target only the immediate are of where they were injected, and the poison just causes the person to fall fairly ill, but isn't life threatening.

Unless they're in battle of course.

The poison blurs the vision and causes you to lose balance, not to mention the high fever.

I'm sure some nefarious people will buy my good, but you know that's fine by me because if they do anything truly devious then I can just eliminate them and I get my product back along with whatever I can nick off of them.

After all I'm going to be saving my really dangerous stuff for myself.

Can't be too careful especially in a world where people can call forth lightning like they're Thor.

Speaking of which I need to make progress towards doing that myself.

I was leisurely walking down the trail inspecting various plants I can across and adding them to my ring as I went along.

Most were ones I had already used before to make my poisons and paralytics, but I wasn't going to say no to free stuff.

You see strangely enough plants in this world tend to grow in 2 or more segments, imagine a flower with 2 sets of flowering petals.

Well this also allows them to regrow as long as one segment is replaced back into the ground.

So through my herb picking I had been replacing the second stalk back into the ground in case I ever passed through here again.

Of course not all the plants do this so I have to actually harvest the seeds from the plant for it to regrow, but a lot are in this 2 segment form.

This continued until about midday when I decided to rest and eat lunch.

I could only sing praises about the existence of storage rings as they kept food and drink as they were when they were placed inside.

I pulled out a jar of water and a warm sand which I had bought from a food stand back in Valden City.

I relaxed under the cloudy sky as a cool breeze blew through the air.

This stretch of road was close to some mountains and the cool air at its peaks would blow down here if the conditions were right.

It wasn't enough to counter this midsummer heat, but it did feel good against my warmed skin.

I was just sprawled out on the grass off the trail with my hands behind my head and feet crossed at the ankles as I soaked in the rays.

Enjoying the freedom and peace I felt being bound by nothing except for what I wanted to do.

I could travel this entire continent, or live in Xyrus.

I could live out my life as an adventurer or use my Herbalist business to grow my fortune and one day become a noble.

I truly could do whatever I wanted and I was still only 9 years old with my birthday fast approaching in September.

I mean it's already August and I feel as if I just turned 9 not that long ago.

Though I can't be completely sure when this body's birthday actually was, I just happened to be placed in it on August 20th.

Which has now become my birthday in this world.

My thoughts were broken and the pleasant feeling of being alone in the wilderness was shattered by the rapid crash of footsteps.

I had thought they were horses hooves beating against the trail, but it wasn't quite the same.

I propped myself up with my hands supporting me on either side as I looked down the trail back the way towards Valden.

What caught my eye was several wagons being pulled by large lizards that I had only seen once before on a caravan I had raided with my bandit group.

Apparently they were a low level mana beast that people tended to use like horses for wagons as they can pull up hills far easier and don't get as tired as fast.

The first wagon had a man with long red hair and a spear across his back, his looks struck some sort of familiarity with me but I couldn't place it.

His passenger was was a thin woman with black hair pulled up into a bun and she had bow laying beside her.

She seemed familiar as well, but I couldn't place the face that I was seeing with any from my memories.

As they got closer they began to slow down before all the wagons stopped and they started hopping off.

All of them seemed to be mages and looked to be of stages higher than my own.

Most likely adventurers of some kind, but I can't be too careful so I palmed a couple needles in my hand farthest from them and remained seated as they approached.

><

Sorry for short chapter had a long day yesterday (8am-8pm) and then I had to turn around and wake up at 4am to be at work by 5am to help with some things.

I'll try to write a couple chapters if I'm not too tired after work today.

Also this isn't a Varay ship. Just wanted to add a little something to the bandit quest and Varay with her emotionless ness popped into my mind so I decided to write a reason for the way she acts.

Honestly haven't decided on a love interest and don't know if I even will, but if I do I'm leaning towards Claire or Lilia or maybe I'll pick someone else entirely. Who knows?

Also I'm sure you've most likely figured out who are in the wagons, and no I'm not saving Arthur or replacing him for his parents.
