Chapter 10_ "Stronger than ever"

Sophia just stared at her reflection in the mirror. Honestly, she felt nothing. No fear, No regrets but she knew more than anything that she was still screaming on the inside. Taking some strands of her hair from her face, she stared at her beautiful eyes and said, "I am, Thank you so much, Agnes, You are the best". "Ah no need to thank me, I've got your back on this, and just so you know I didn't take any money from him, You are my bestie and I won't do that to you". Sophia chuckled warmly, she knew that others may not be able to understand the basics of their relationship but then again people have always been judgemental. She could care less, They loved each other like blood sisters. " I don't mind if you do though, I know you also need the money", Sophia said with a little smirk. There was silence on the other end of the phone. "Wait for it !", she said to herself in excitement as she waited for Agnes to explode. She could already hear her fuming breath from the phone. "SOPHIA MARY ANDERSON !!!, Do you think that low of your friend huh??? . Is this what I get for my sincerity, Ahhh, wait till I get my hands on you first, Hmmph! Whatever bye, Agnes yelled in a furious tone of voice that had a tinge of childishness to it but one could sense that she was hurt. But she didn't hang up yet, Obviously waiting for an apology from Sophia. "Pfft", Sophia laughed out but in a silent voice as she's didn't want to offend her friend again, Stabling herself a little she said, "Aiyo you know I didn't mean it. I was just teasing you. Please forgive this silly friend of yours. I appreciate your goodness to me. You are one of the few people I can count on in this world so I dare not offend you. I love you so so much and we will be friends throughout this life and even in the next", Sophia stated in a sweet and sincere voice. "O-oh, ok! I forgive you and I love you too. Bye bestie, sweetie, take care okay. And be sure to tell me if that guy doesn't treat you well and I will so beat him to a pulp. I don't care if he's the CEO of the entire world", Agnes said in a daring voice. "Okay", Sophia said amusingly. Somehow this friend of hers had managed to make this sad situation funny. She had made her laugh at a time when she felt like laughing was merely a wish. She felt warm, loved, and strengthened, and only Agnes her best friend could make her feel this way. "Okay I'll talk to you soon, bye", Sophia said in a little cheerful voice. "Ok, Bye dear" and the call ended. Sophia felt truly lucky to be blessed with such a caring and understanding friend. She then proceeded to pack her hair. She coiled the ends and packed most of her hair up in a simple but beautiful fashion. She also let a few strands fall on the side of her face, Her baby hairs rested beautifully on her swan-like neck. Feeling satisfied with herself, she stood up and only one word could describe her .... "Breathtaking!". She then took her black elegant coat and put it on. She can't have everyone in the neighborhood staring at her when she stepped out. It may raise gossips and she knew that it won't end well. She quickly booked a cab online and waited for it anxiously. She helped herself to cornflakes mixed with chocolate. Well, she needed to feel light and energetic. Soon the cab arrived and she got in quickly. "Empress hotel mister", she said politely and laid her head on the headrest of the cab's backseat. From time to time along the way she would open her eyes and stare at the sky. "It was dark now. She promised to live through this, and when she did?, She will be stronger than ever".
