The kingdom of Sabaean has stood in the deepest part of the desert for thousands of years, it is believed to be the house of Ra itself. It been standing since the war of the first kings and their enemy. It is said that the tallest towers reach the heavens, the walls were impenetrable but no one was foolish enough to try to bring them down. The lucky souls who have stepped in and walked out alive always have the most captivating tales to tell. And I will tell you one. If you wish to believe it, that is up to you but beware; it will be gruesome, heartbreaking and filled with betrayal.
Kalila swayed on her feet, she was growing tired, and her body starting to ache. She was getting weak, she attempted to catch her breath. Confused why she suddenly felt like this, the image blurred when Lycidas walked into her view.
"We camp here tonight. You can barely walk." His jaw ticked waiting for her disagreement.
"Fine. We find....somewhere more covered." She struggled to get out. Lycidas wanted to reach out, and ask if she was okay but he remembered who and what she was. He continues walking through the ruins, trying to look for shelter. Kalila was not far behind, struggling to keep herself up.
"Here will do." Lycidas breaks the silence. They were in a more covered area, the floor still had ankle-deep waters but some areas were dry and the roof was half intact. When he doesn't hear a response, he spins around thinking she made a run for it but she was on her knees about to pass out.
"Are you alright?" He rushes over, she looked worse than she did in a few minutes. Her body has broken out in tiny sweats and she was breathing hard. "I need to rest." She pushes his arms away, getting up without his help. She barely made it two steps before crumbling down.
"Let me help you." He growled, grabbing her waist again. Lycidas wonders if her body was worn out because of the amount of magicae she uses.
"I do not want your help."
"You don't exactly have much choice in that matter. You can barely walk." She was silent for a moment before nodding. Lycidas easily drag her to the wall, he laid her sitting upright and took a place next to her. They could keep heat in if they sat close. He glanced at her, her eyes closed and her chest barely moving.
