Recently the Hospice hasn't been the most entertaining of places, we have people coming in and leaving and really nobody to muck about it except for Dr Wheeler sometimes, when he feels the need to remind us of our health conditions.

"Helena you seem to be getting a lot better, I mean there is no saying you are cured and dusting you off but these last few weeks you've been reacting to the treatment pretty well and as for you, Delilah, I think you are save to say better then when you came in, I need you two to look after each other and especially Delilah, I need you to keep a close eye on Helena" Dr Wheeler said as he was giving us our debrief before we were both discharged and hereby pronounced out patience, which was every in-patience dream after a few weeks sitting in a bed.

My mum and Helena's mum had decided that a good thing to do would be to move in with each other seen as Helena didn't know her dad ever as her parents got divorced a while back so it was just her mum and Helena, and since my tragic family history it was only mum and I so it was a perfect fit, we had enough space in our house to accommodate for two extra people seen as my mum has an office place in the room opposite mine so we could just convert that back into a bedroom for the meantime.

Helena never really spoke about her family with me but from what she did say, she doesn't have any type of communication with her father since the divorce and apparently, he has a brand-new family with new children and is loving it all to her expense. She is very against her dad and doesn't want to meet or talk to him ever so it's always a touchy subject.

"Don't worry doc her bedroom is literally opposite mine so anything happens she has me and the two mums to the rescue" I said as Helena rolled her eyes and Dr Wheeler laughed as our mums came strolling into the ward with paper in their hands, clearly the release papers and all the test results and what not.

Once we had left the Hospice building it was like a weight lifted off both of our shoulders, the fresh air and the atmosphere changed, we were no longer in those nasty dressing gowns, we were in our own clothes which for both of us was a pair or ripped jeans and an oversized jumper, Helena's had a punk bands logo on it and mine was just a plain colour jumper, nothing too fancy.

"So, who's hungry?" Patricia, Helena's mum asked as we all loaded into the car, me grabbing my mum's aux and plugging my phone in, Helena screamed in agreement and all of a sudden Tickets to my downfall by MGK started playing super loudly which caused me and Helena to jump about, but my mum and hers to turn it down and shake their heads in annoyance, but still with smiles on their faces.

We grabbed McDonalds via the drive thru and then headed back home, it's crazy what mums can do when you are bound to a hospital bed, they were able to decorate, furnish and put together all sorts of things and Helena and Patricia officially had their own rooms fully functioning without any detail left.

By just looking at Helena's room I could already get a glimpse of her outside the hospital walls that I had only known her from, she had a pitch-black wardrobe with one solo mirror on one of the doors with a charm hanging from the top of the mirror and then a bunch of stickers on the bottom two drawers that were on display at all times, stickers from bands, or the stickers to re-sealable things like skittles and Snickers etc. Then you had the way her bed looked, it was a world war two style bed, black steel bed frame with fairy lights at the headboard to bring some kind of light to the room, then moving down she had a silk black sheet and a few fluffy cushions with a few destroyed teddy bears that looked like she worshipped the devil...I can confirm she doesn't.

"The room is looking nice" I said as I looked around as she was lying in the middle of her bed, magazines and newspaper articles surrounding her and she had a pair of scissors in her hand, she smiled up at me as I leaned on her door frame "you like? I thought I'd bring death to life" she smiled as I rolled my eyes and laughed "no way! you're dying too" I asked as she rolled her eyes and laughed along with me "very much so" she added as I walked towards her bed and rested my hands on the end bar of her bed "cutting up what heaven looks like are we?" I asked as she was in the middle of cutting up what looked like the weeping angels and sticking it to her very much anti-life mood board she had created in her little scrapbook "Anyone would think you hated life" I added as she shrugged, "I don't know you know" she looked up at me as I looked around and then outside her window.

"We are going skating, grab your board and let's go!" I said as I burst back into her room and she stared at me "knocking isn't a privilege, it's a right" she added as I walked out, closed the door and tried again, this time knocking before entering, "we are going skating, grab your board" I said as she laughed and jumped up from her bed opening her closet and grabbing her board "Let's go" she added as we headed off.

There were a few places that I'd usually like going skating, one of the places being an abandoned supermarket carpark that nobody used because of rumours and all that jazz that there were people, dead people that had cursed and take control of the car park at night, so it turned into a skating place where some of the local skaters would chill and have a good ole time just skating around. It became Libby and I's spot.

"Hey Strangers" Libby said as she was skating back and forth with none other than Mr Dean O Leary, or his actual name Zack, don't ask why I call him Dean, it was a small inside joke that just suck with us, "If it isn't the two dying girls, what a pleasure to be in your presence" Zack jumped off his board and stood in front of us and bowed "Thank you, we appreciate it" I said as he smiled and then winked "this is Helena, Helena this is Dean O Leary or as birthed Zack Lang" I introduced them to each other and then Helena and I went to both hug Libby as she made her way towards us, "are we skating or what" Zack shouted over at us as he was on the rails just waiting for us to stop our little mothers meeting "after you!" I shouted back as he mounted his board and off he went.

Skating had always been a release for me, the wind interrupting your thoughts and the sights of the places you skate to all in your eyes and brightening up as the night turns dark, I loved that you didn't have to have a care in the world, as soon as you jumped onto that board the world was your oyster, not trying to make it sound anything mesmerising but it was a sight to see, not to mention the people that you meet on your skating journeys and fellow skater boys and girls.

A few hours had gone by and it was definitely time to head back home and get some food in our system, but you know young adults and teenagers might as well get some sugar while we are at it, I decided to pop to the petrol station that was on our way home so that I could get some sweets for us while the other guys decided to wait and skate around the petrol station while I went inside.

I walked inside with my board in one hand and headed straight for the sweet section grabbing some twizzlers and a few packets of Sour Patch Kids the others, as I got to the line for paying I noticed the boy in front way too well, curly blonde hair, kinda messy, definitely taller than me and smelt like he had walked off a runway.

"Vincent?" I asked as he turned around with a frown then as soon as he saw me his face softened and then went back to a little frown "The girl from the hospital" he didn't give any emotion or expression when those words left his mouth just turned back around, I sighed and tapped him again "Listen, I am sorry about what I said sorta, I didn't realise you had anyone in the hospice" I said as he turned around and shrugged "it's whatever, take it you are out of the hospice now? is that for good?" he asked as I shrugged, literally anything could happen to me at this point, "I think so but I don't want to jinx anything I mean I'm gonna die anyway but you know anything else could happen" I said as he frowned harder and shook his head "what is up with that mentality?" I didn't get time to answer his question because he was next in line to be served.

I got served then walked out to find Helena and the guys all waiting for me with instant smiles on their faces when they saw what I had in my hands, "do I ever tell you how much we love you?" Zack flung an arm around my shoulder as my eyes wondered and scanned the whole petrol station for Vincent but he was nowhere to be seen, "no you don't but I appreciate the words seen as I am not dying any sooner" I said as I snapped back to reality and handed out what needed to be handed and then we all hopped back on our boards and headed home.
