Chapter 26

"So Ms. Kelly why did you write this book?" The reporter began with his questions. "Pardon?" Kelly replied confusedly. "I mean what gave you the motivation to write 'THE YOUNGER US'?" "Ummm probably because I was bored. Hahaha I'm just kidding. So I wrote this book at first to comfort all those Kayla's out there. I wrote it for people who didn't get enough attention or someone who didn't have anyone to listen to them to find peace in the characters. And personally it's like a collection of words that I didn't hear from anyone when I was young." "So this book isn't based on real events?" "Yes and no." "Sorry?" "I mean some incidents in this book did happen but majority of it was based on my imagination." "Could you tell us which parts of the story is true?" "I can't as I don't want to open up old wounds." "Okay. Then can you tell us if Parker and Cosmos are real or is it just a figment of your imagination?" "Well they are real person but with different names."

"So are you close with them?" "Not anymore. Actually I wasn't never really close with them. I would just observe them from afar and create wild scenarios in my head." "Ahhh. That's quite sad to hear." "Not really. They were just a model for my characters and nothing else." "What would you say to them if you ever see them again?" "I know you don't remember me but I'm really sorry for using you as my characters." "Hahaha. So how does it feel to be the bestseller book's author?" "It feels weird but at the same time I think that I am deserving of it." "That's good. And is it true that your book will be produced as a movie?" "Yes it's true."

"How do you feel about that?" "At first I was reluctant at this idea because I never liked any movies which was created from a book because in the movie they would change some certain details which I don't like." "But wouldn't it be boring if the readers already know the whole story?" "Yes you're right but personally for me, I would prefer if the story remains unchanged because my main objective to watch the movie is to see if the actors are similar to the characters I imagined in my head. And because I think that way, there must be some certain percentage of people who think like me too." "So why did you change your mind?" "Well the producers were really convincing and they almost changed my mind, so here I am being interviewed by you." "I have one more question before we end this. Why did you end your book so abruptly? I mean the characters were finally looking happy and then suddenly it ended without any sort of ending. Would you like to say something about it?" "I wanted to continue but whenever I would think about the ending it would lead to a sad one." "And why's that?" "I'm not really sure probably because I know that in the real world there are no happy endings. Sure some may disagree with me but I think that even if you have a happily ever after in your life, you still need to pay the price in some sort of way. Basically it's like opportunity cost. I want to make sure that I keep my book as realistic as possible." "That is some really deep things that you are saying but many of your readers are disappointed because of this." "Well it's better to know the cold fact from now." "Well that's it from my side. Before we end it, would you like to say some words to your readers?" "Work so hard for your dream that it ends up becoming a reality." "Well that's it for today then. It was nice having you here." "It was nice being here too. Thank you."

Kelly reached her home late at night and then plopped on her bed as she was way too tired from all the interviews and meetings but she was content that her dream of becoming a successful author was finally becoming true. She was just about to doze off when she got a text. It was from an unknown number. "Hey!" Kelly didn't reply and just ignored it thinking that someone was messing with her when she got another text from that number. "Yo K!" Kelly's eyes widened at this text. She knew who this person was but she didn't had the courage to reply. "Maybe you fell asleep. But anyways just wanted to say that the both of us really missed you so, let's hang out soon." Kelly went blank for a second and when she finally came back to her senses, she quickly blocked the number and then went back to her slumber.

The next morning Kelly was busy having her breakfast when she got a text again. This time it was from her sister:

Cindy: Kelly?

Kelly: Yeah?

Cindy: Why are you ignoring them?

Kelly: Who?

Cindy: You know who

Kelly: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Cindy: I'm talking about your friends who are still waiting for you. The people who were so important to you until you became so popular that you started denying their presence.

Kelly: WTH are you saying?

Cindy: What has happened to you? Does fame change you that much?

Kelly: Either be specific or just don't talk at all.

Cindy: You still want to be like this until the end?

Kelly: Who are you talking about?

Cindy: Dammit! I'm talking about Philip and Chase.

Kelly: *seen*

Kelly just stopped texting at this point as she wasn't really in the mood to start this drama all over again. Kelly was angry that they texted her after such a long time. She didn't want to go back in the past because it was a page she had torn and burned to ashes but it seemed like the ashes came back as dust particles and she wasn't a big fan of this idea.
