Chapter 76

"Urgh!"

Nash turned around to see Katherine, whose body was bleeding from being trodden on by the creatures after Idris kicked her away.

Nash approached her with anger in her eyes.

"I didn't want to do it..." Katherine said as Nash approached her.

"Then why do it?" Nash knelt down and looked at Katherine, "You said you'd always be behind me, assisting me, helping me. We've been friends since... I don't know, and now you do this?"

Nash scoffs, "You knew how much pressure this war was putting on me. You know everything I wanted to do when this war broke out. I told you everything... every fucking thing, Katherine."

"I'm sorry," Katherine began tearing up.

"Nash!" Squad 15 ran towards them.

"Am I really that naïve?"

"I'm sorry... I truly am." Katherine sobbed in front of Nash, her hand in hers.

Nash wiped a tear from her eyes as she stared at the bracelet she had given Katherine.

""It's fine if it's just a fight between us two, but the lives of the entire empire's citizens are on the line. I don't know anymore..."

"Nash..." Aeries gripped Nash's shoulder.

Nash stood back up and looked down on Katherine, "I hate you."

"Please lock me up," Katherine sobs.

Nash locked Katherine up in a ball of ground.

'I think I'm that friend that is easily betrayed.'

Nash saw her father from a distance while she and her crew attacked the remaining creatures. Roven was still looking up, leading her to look in the direction her father was looking.

"Aunt Cerine?" She murmured.

"I'll go help father," Nash said as she left her squad to approach her father when a witch came behind her and kicked her down.

Before the witch launched another attack, Aidan and Kane backed her up.

"Go!"

Nash gave a nod and ran towards her father.

"Father! That's Aunt Cerine!"

"Cerine?" Roven said,

"That's correct!" Cerine grinned and stared at Nash, "How are you, princess?"

"You're dead..." Roven uttered.

"Am I?" Cerine chuckled.

A few thoughts crossed Nash's mind as she hurried towards her father.

"Was Katherine forced to obey her mother because she didn't have a choice?"

"Maybe," Raum replied, "I mean, if Katherine really is a bad person,she should've told that lady about the empire citizen hiding inside the bunker, right?"

"That's right."

"I guess that Cerine is manipulating her daughter."

'Aunt Cerine was always a sweet-hearted lady, until she died from an unknown disease when Katherine and I were eight years old.'

Nash had become ignorant of her surroundings after a few thoughts occurred to her, resulting in a king ogre stomping on her.

"Ah! I'm such an idiot!" she exclaimed.

Nash uses her gravitational ability to crush the king ogre's head causing the blood of it to fall on the nearby knights.

"Opss... Sorry."

As soon as Nash reached her father, Roven yelled at her.

"What the hell are you doing here?!"

"I'm helping you!"

"No! You'll only make things worse! You are her target!"

"I am?"

"hihihihi"

Cerine appeared from Nash's behind and grabbed her neck, crushing it.

"Urgh!" Nash coughed.

Roven managed to kick Cerine in the face causing Cerine to fly back. Cerine has akready weakened after a few strikes from Roven.

"What did I tell you?!" Roven yelled.

"Hehehe peace!" Nash grinned.

Roven sighed, "Vincenzo, take away your sister!"

Vincenzo took Nash and ran away from where Roven was.

"Seize her!" Cerine yelled, causing the creatures to lock their target on Nash.

"Shit!"

"Shit!"

They both exclaimed.

Nash continued crushing the creature's body as Vincenzo incinerated the creatures in his path.

Squads and magical knights assisted in the attack on the smaller ones, while the summoned demons continued to fight the larger ones.

"Hey brother..." Nash whispered.

"What?"

"I'll go."

"Huh?"

Nash pushed his brother, and all the creatures pursued her as she fled from them.

"Raum,"

"Yes."

"I guess I'm doing it now."

"Are you serious?! You've lost a lot of blood!"

"haha, don't worry, I've got this."

'Everything ends here today.'

"Bahamut!" Nash yelled and Bahamut appeared in front of her in an instant. "Don't allow anyone to get too close to me."

"Nash! Don't!"

Raum was yelling at her, but Nash ignored him and went about her business.

"Bahamut! After I finish, you can go back and fight the creatures... You will be with your lord soon."

Cerine quickly fell down when Roven utilized his entire demon strength because she was now all weak after a few strikes from Roven, and her arm had been cut by Roven.

Roven turned around to see the creatures running at Nash.

"Hihihihi... your daughter is going to die..."

Roven smashed Cerine's head and threw it into the flames of the wyvern.

Roven rushed to help kill the creatures.

Nash offers blood once again and redraws the pentagram, and as soon as she is done, she chants the word in demon language.

"Chrollo... it's me. Please help me."

The ground began to crumble as the pentagram became larger.

Bahamut has returned to fight the creatures.

"Thank you..."

As soon as the demon realm portal was successful, Nash lost the strength of her knees when Jaxael caught her immediately.

"Her heart is weakening!" Aeries exclaimed.

"HAHAHAHA so my Nash did it?" Chrollo emerged from the portal and approached Nash.

"Who are you?" Kane asked, pointing his sword.

"Me? I'm the demon king!"

All the knights turned back and saw the demons coming out of the portal Nash made.

"I told her it was life threatening and yet she still did it."

Nash chuckled as Lilith patted her head.

Raum appeared and kissed Nash's forehead.

Nash's eyes closed slowly as she murmured her final words, "Heal."

The gemstone fragments began to sparkle and release all of their healing power. The knights who were hurt in the capital have recovered somewhat. Squad 15 and Katherine both look at their glowing bracelets, and they feel their bodies are recovering on their own.

Katherine teleported to Nash after the ground that had imprisoned her broke.

Katherine moved close to Nash and tried to hear her heartbeat, "There's no heartbeat..."

When Roven, his son, and the Demon family turned around, they saw Katherine crying and clutching Nash's body.

Lilith appeared and held onto Nash's heart. "There is... a bit. She might die a few minutes from now."

"What did she do?!" Vincenzo yelled, looking at Lilith.

"She opened the demon realm's portal. I was the one who taught her that."

"Why do you have to do that?!" Daniel yelled.

"Don't hold that against me. I had already warned her that accessing the portal would endanger her life. She made matters worse by summoning six demon monsters, and I heard she lost a lot of blood."

"Bring her to Serio," Roven said, calmly.

"But father..."

"Bring her there!" Roven yelled in frustration.

Katherine accompanied Jaxael and Nash to Serio.

Roven was glaring at Lilith, "Don't glare at me, Roven. It was your daughter's plan the moment she asked for me to teach her that. She feels all the pressure there has been ever since this war was about to happen. You won't be able to take it once you saw how Nash was trying to train, her fingers were all injured due to biting it every time just to summon those creatures."

"You should've stopped her!" Roven yelled.

"If she didn't do that then this empire would be gone completely." Raum said.

"Your daughter was blaming herself for what was going on when it should have all been blamed on those disgusting creatures. You can't blame us demons; all we wanted was to live quietly, but what did you humans do? You attempted to exploit us for your own amusement... for your power to take over this ridiculous world." Lilith stated.

"Lilith... Stop it. It was Nash's choice." Chrollo has come close to them.

"Tsk. You should've looked over your daughter more," Lilith went out and joined the battle, summoning additional demon creatures to fight beside her.

Roven was standing still, when Chrollo patted his back.

"Nash was one stubborn child. She only accepts things that she thinks is right and doesn't ask for other's opinions. She is one selfish brat, honestly. Don't take my wife's word seriously, she was just upset."

"Father..." Vincenzo was worried about his father.

Roven was someone who doesn't show any emotions but still manages to show care to his family.

"Let's end this." Chrollo said.

Roven charges into the battleground and goes all out.

The war continued for a few hours. The stench of blood covered the capital and the cries of the creatures were heard along with the knight's groans. Thanks to the demons, the creatures were inferior to them and soon...

...the war has come to an end.
