CH: 42: Rise of Achilles

Ruler did not shy away from the pair and greeted them with a small smile on his face even though he was exhausted. He did not want to show weakness in front of Havok.

"Havok. L. You both seem to be up early this morning. Going for a run?"

Polaris looked surprised and suspicious that Ruler was speaking to Havok so normally and it showed on his face.

He returned a look of pure innocence to her questioning stare but she could not force the answer out of him and only tread carefully.

"That's right. We go out every morning. Would you like to join us?" Havok asked out of politeness but Polaris realized the trap they had walked into.

Anyone else would have declined but Ruler was shameless and had thick skin. Metaphorical bullets couldn't even pierce his skin.

But to her surprise, he declined the offer.

"Sorry but I've been up all night doing a mission and babysitting Sabertooth. I'm exhausted and heading to bed now. You two have fun though."

And without waiting for their responses, Ruler turned around and made his way toward the Neo community. Though he was not going to sleep. Instead, he wanted to check out his recently ascended servant.

He felt Achilles' card return the previous a few hours prior without being dismissed and it did not have the same feeling as when a Servant was killed or willingly returned.

So the first thought that came to his head was that Achilles came across his 'spark' or reason for ascending. And when he got to the room and summoned the card, it was exactly like he had expected.

The Shielder card was gold with red highlights around the edges of it. Ruler summoned Achilles to check out how the Servant looked as well as check on his stats.

The new version of Achilles looked pretty much the same. There were only two main differences. Achilles no longer wore his golden armor and only had a small, simple breastplate with a bird design in the center.

The second was the look in his eyes. It was no longer like he was afraid of going all out or battling anymore. It seemed like he was no longer scarred by the battles or mistakes of his past so even if Hector or Chiron stood before him again, he could face them with pride and without hesitation anymore.

He had the eyes of Achilles before the Trojan War that scarred him and killed him. As for his stats, there was only a small difference but it was his skills and Noble Phantasms that truly improved.

New Noble Phantasms:

Nine Lives: Shooting the Hundred Heads: This move can be anywhere between 9 to hundreds of attacks delivered at once. Heracles most famous and powerful technique. I was used in killing the constantly regenerating and thought to be immortal hydra. Regardless of whether it is delivered with a bow, large sword, shield, spear, ax, or possibly even unarmed, the technique boasts power on the level of Noble Phantasms by drawing out the maximum power of the weapon. It was said that if he were to demonstrate its maximum power with a bow, it would be the greatest bow, if demonstrated with a spear, the greatest spear, if demonstrated with a sword, the greatest sword, etc.

Argon Coin: Noble Phantasm that belongs to Medea. By throwing or dropping the coin on the ground, the user is able to summon dragons that will be under their control.

Poseidon Maelstrom: God of the Sea, Rampaging Tidal Wave: Noble Phantasm that belongs to Caenis. Independent of whether they're on the ground or in the air, the target is crushed by super-massive ocean currents. It is a powerful offensive Noble Phantasm on its own, but if it is above the water or underwater, or in a situation in which there is a great amount of water nearby, the attack power is further increased. It is a limited reproduction of a small portion of the Authority of the oceans possessed by the sea god Poseidon.

Looking through his new noble phantasms, Ruler did not know what to say. Every one of those abilities was dangerous in their own right, especially in the hands of Achilles.

With his already fast speed further boosted by his noble phantasm, if he used Nine Lives in conjunction with them, Ruler was sure that Achilles could launch thousands of attacks with his spear in a single moment.

As for the Argon Coin, Ruler still learned about how dangerous the dragons from the Servants' world were. Even though the common ones were not too dangerous for him, if he unleashed some on a base, it would be destroyed within minutes.

As for Poseidon Malestrom, that was an ability that carried Authority, power of the gods. Any Noble Phantasm that carried authority was on an entirely different level from those that did not.

This was the main reason why Quetzalcoatl was the most powerful of his Servants. Other than being the manifestation of a literal goddess.

"How are you feeling?" Ruler asked even though he could see the pleased look in Achilles' eyes.

"Great. This is the best that I have ever felt in my entire life. I feel like if Hector was to battle me again, it would no longer be as close of a victory as it was before."

Ruler had to agree even though he did not know what Hector was like as a Servant. With just Nine Lives alone, Achilles completely outclassed Hector now due to his overwhelming speed.

"What brought about this change anyway? It does not seem like you would just decide to get over your traumas at random."

Achilles looked at Ruler with a passive look on his face like he was not about to say anything serious.

"Oh. I just battled someone called Hercules. He was really strong. Have you heard of him?"

Author's Note: Back to working on this. Have the next 4 arcs planned out but can't you guys how long each of those arcs will go lol. Hopefully 100 maybe 50. Who knows?
