CH 40: Birthday

The two continued their foreplay and were about to reach the main act when they heard a knocking on the door. The duo ignored at first but the knocking continued.

"What is it?" asked Ember as she kissed and bit down on Ruler's shoulder.

The voice of a woman was heard from the other side.

"Ruler is being called to the citadel by Magneto. He said that he is needed ASAP."

The duo finally stopped their fun before looking at each other in frustration and playfulness. Ruler kissed Ember's forehead before hopping off the bed and tossing the woman her clothes while he got his own.

"Got it! I'll let him know. You can rest now."

The pair heard the footsteps walk away as they got dressed. Ember looked at Ruler in frustration.

"And there goes the third time in a row that we have gotten interrupted. This is so annoying."

Ruler laughed at the half-dressed woman while he continued to put on his clothes. He was used to it by then. Living with the, they knew very little about privacy and would constantly walk into other people's rooms without knocking.

Although Ruler did not mind putting on a show, Ember apparently did. She would not even risk sex anywhere outside of the bedroom. The duo had been hooking up a little over a year. They had grown close during their time as newer Neo members and ended up being friends with benefits to help relieve stress.

"Next time. For now, Let's see what Magneto needs."

The Ruler got dressed and made his way to the window before jumping out and spreading his wings. He arrived in front of the citadel to see Sabretooth and Magneto waiting for him outside.

Ruler landed in front of them with a questioning look on his face.

'Already on my second mission? I just completed my first one today,' thought Ruler as he waited for one of the two to speak. It was Magneto who spoke first.

"We found out about a club in New Jersey that kills and eats mutant children. They consider themselves wealthy nobles who can play by their own rules due to their 'power'.

I want both of you to show them what true power looks like. Here is the address. You leave now."

Ruler and Sabertooth nodded, one having an indifferent look on his face as if they were completing another chore while the latter had a feral grin on his face as if he could not wait to see blood spilled.

Ruler pulled out a golden card with a red outline on it before swiping it on his hand. He was covered in a golden light. When the light faded, he appeared to be wearing spartan armor on his body and a sword on his waist.

Ruler pulled the sword out of its sheath before he turned around and cut the air in front of him. When the air was cut, 3 large bulls pulling a chariot appeared in front of the group.

Ruler walked onto the chariot before gesturing for Sabretooth to do the same.

"Hop on. I wanna get back before dawn and take a nap."

Sabretooth got on the chariot without any complaint and that was when Ruler noticed the mischievous glint in the eyes of the savage mutant.

'Don't ask, Jason. Just do your mission, let him get into whatever trouble he wants to get involved in, and come home. Do not make anything more complicated than it has to be.'

Once he was on board, all the bulls stomped a few times before lightning cloaked their feet. Once the lighting touched their feet, they began to run forward before running into the sky above Genosha.

It took the pair a few hours to reach New Jersey due to Sabretooth asking. Not knowing why he would ask but since he did not care, Ruler did not activate his noble phantasm

When they arrived at their destination, it was a little after 2 in the morning. Their destination was a large mansion on the outskirts of the city.

It was truly separated from anything and the closest neighbor appeared to be at least 2 miles away.

Sabretooth noticed this as well as he said, "No need to worry about making noise then", before jumping off the chariot that was several hundred feet in the air. Instead of landing on the ground, the mad mutant landed on two guards before proceeding the tear them apart.

"Sure. You go jump down and kill them. I'll just park the lighting bull chariot at the next airport for assassins that I see", he muttered to himself before releasing the chariot and flying down himself.

Ruler decided to float just above the mansion before he activated his magic bullet spell. The two loti of light appeared behind him before they opened fire on the various guards protecting the mansion from the outside.

Within seconds, they each had a hole or two in them and were no longer breathing. Sabretooth threw an unhappy look at Ruler but he just shrugged his shoulders and ignored it before breaking through the roof to begin the killing spree on the inside.

Not wanting to lose out to him, Sabretooth ran into the mansion to help as well. With each of them being ruthless killers, they had wiped out all the humans in the mansion in minutes without letting call for help or escape.

It would take days before anyone discovered the dead in the mansion due to it being a holiday weekend. Or at least until someone noticed the dead guards on the outside.

'The guards will probably give it away but Magneto said nothing about being discreet.'

The pair flew out of the mansion and onto the chariot without even trying to hide their deed. They also did not erase the mansion's security footage so anyone would be able to recognize them easily.

But that was not the current issue. The current issue was that Sabretooth did not want to return to Genosha but instead wanted to head the Grand Canyon.

"I need to go to deliver a birthday present. You don't mind, do ya?"

And Ruler truly did not. He was already prepared for a request like that so he just nodded and ordered the bulls to head west. When they arrived in the area, it was only a few minutes until midnight.

After they arrived, Sabretooth asked Ruler to keep the chariot floating above the clouds. Still feeling puzzled but not caring enough to ask, Ruler did as requested.

They were high in the sky, above an empty highway. Correction, a nearly empty highway. In the distance, there seemed to be a motorcycle or vehicle with a broken headlight coming their way.

Ruler did not see the savage grin on Sabretooth's due to not paying attention to him but he did notice the body of Sabretooth jump off once again.

'Does he like jumping from heights like this? Maybe next time I should use the Avenger/Ruler card so we can fly higher.'

Sabretooth landed on the motorcycle and its driver causing the bike to explode. But from above, Ruler saw both people fighting even after the explosions.

Ruler decided to release the bulls before flying down and getting a closer look. When he was 10 feet above them he finally heard what was going and recognized who Sabretooth was fighting.

"Victor!!!"

"You didn't think I would forget your birthday beatdown, did you?"

The two most savage mutants to exist were clashing before Ruler over an annual birthday beatdown. Sabretooth would hunt down every year on his birthday in order to beat him within an inch of his, to simply prove that he could.

Not out of hate, or anger, or resentment. Just to prove that he could hunt him down no matter where he went and kick Wolverine's ass whenever he felt like it.

One was Sabretooth. More man than beast. The ultimate warrior who had fought dozens of wars and killed thousands with his bare hands. He does not suppress the beast within him but instead, let it run wild.

The other was Wolverine. The man who always wanted to tame the beast within him. He has killed hundreds but mainly when the beast could no longer be contained or when necessary. He has trained in many martial arts styles and became a great hero who has inspired many younger mutants. (Most are female ;) ;) )
