Ranking

Stepping onto the white section of the room, Felix stood on the other side staring at him.

"We shall start!" Felix spoke as he pulled a remote and began pressing buttons.

Lester stood there as he got into a stance and began preparing. A qi layer surrounded his body as he was ready to face whatever was coming.

The room suddenly began to rumble, as the machines on the ceiling turned on into a blinding light that constantly moved in every direction above him. Suddenly his surroundings began to change and the once white walls began to change into a forest.

Although Lester was aware of the technological advancements that the human race had made in the past few years, this was quite shocking to him as he looked around the forest that had just appeared from thin air. A smile appeared and his wide eyes scanned the surrounding.

"Ahh ohhh!!"

Suddenly a sound came from behind as Lester was quick to turn and face the sound that had just taken him out of his admiration.

A monkey the height of a human was just ahead of him staring at him with its yellow eyes. The monkey was brown with a certain blue pattern on its head as it swayed it around inspecting Lester's movements.

"Swoosh!"

Lester suddenly moved back as well, avoiding the monkey's attack. The attack was quite basic as it was only a charge forward. But Lester did not underestimate the enemy. Quickly wrapping qi tentacles around the monkey, it was surprisingly not strong enough to move from it. It had to be much weaker than the binturong.

A smirk appeared on his face as he moved. Sprinting and jumping, he sent a stump directly onto the chest of the monkey, sending it to the ground, as it dissipated the moment it made contact with the ground.

Lester smiled feeling a little proud of himself, but that smile was quickly erased as he heard two more sounds.

"Ahh oohhh"

"Ahh oohhh"

"Huh?" Lester jumped to the side as he faced two monkeys that had just arrived.

"Two of them now?" Lester was in thought. He knew this system was here to access their level and power, so it's not surprising they would continue to send enemies to test his limits.

"Hmph!" Lester got into a stance once more as the two monkeys attacked.

They did the same attack as the previous time, predictable and sluggish. Using the tentacles to hold one down, he dodged the attack of the other. He dissolved the tentacles from the second monkey and used them to slash at the first monkey that initially attacked. Making it dissolve like the previously defeated one.

Lester had to be fast, as he soon quickly dodged the second monkey's attacked and slashed it once more with the tentacles, securing him a second win.

Lester this time didn't have time to be proud as his senses went off, which made him quickly move to the side once more.

"Bang!"

Lester looked towards the sound and there stood a gorilla-looking monster full of muscle and power. The gorilla was mostly blue with some black stripes on its limbs.

It looked towards Lester intimidatingly, as Lester took a step back and into a stance once more.

The gorilla jumped towards him throwing a punch, and lucky Lester was able to dodge, however, unlike the previous monkeys whose attacks were predictable and easy to counter, the horrible followed up with a hook the same way a boxer would, which caught Lester by surprise more than anything else.

"Bang!"

The gorilla was able to hit Lester on the right ribs, however, thanks to his layer of protection the damage wasn't too bad as he was sent flying back.

Suddenly the hologram finished and Lester stood up slowly.

They did damage control here extremely quickly, as Lester was displeased by it as he felt like he could still last longer.

"Wow… That was a powerful monster." Lester said, with even more determination now.

After the holograms completely dissipated and nothing but white walls surrounded him, Felix spoke from the side, "Not bad for your first time. After this battle, the system should be able to give you a badge with your new ranking. In addition, those who have successfully shown they can step up and defend themselves would be available to be the Cultivation Island's partner."

Lester simply smiled allowing Felix to continue on.

"As you know, once someone becomes a partner with us they will receive certain privileges, such as residing on our island, which could provide easy access to other resources like the health center, missions center, and the trading area. In addition, the residents' areas are absolutely amazing and definitely worth a try." Felix continued.

Lester kept on nodding, as he was being given a lot of information.

"Regardless of whether you decide to stay here or not, you should at least give it a try as the first 2 months are free. After that, we take contribution points for rent payment, or you can complete 2 missions a month. This way, everything we do here is beneficial to both the island and you." Felix concluded as behind him there was a compartment on the wall the glowed with a blue light.

"Ah it's done!" Felix said with a smile as he moved towards the compartment and took something out of it.

Walking towards Lester he handed him a badge that looked quite strange. It was circular with earth colors all around, his cultivator name in the middle of the badge as well as a number which he presumed to be his ranking, '1422'.

"1422 cultivator out of so many? Not bad." Felix said and continued, "Well things for you are done here, take this booklet of information and I wish you success."

"Thank you!" Lester said as he took the badge and booklet and began to leave. Although he was content with the ranking, he knew he could do much better. His goals began to grow and so did his ambition.
