Peculiar Occurrence

"Swoosh!"

The glossy wooden cabinet slowly opened revealing a few things within.

A thick yellow book was the first object to catch Lester's eyes, making his blood boil. There were also two parts of a different book, and on top of these things was a peculiar black gem.

These objects were found washed up near his home in the Philippines, which is extremely close to where the spaceship crashed. After finding these things, Lester took a few years to translate them and later placed them all within this cabinet, as he hoped that one day, they would become useful.

The yellow book had a strange pyramid on the cover with alien writing that read, [Black Sand Zu Lizard Cultivation]. There was a reason why this book was so thick and that was because it was a complete cultivation book without and missing pages. Something like this in the world today would be priceless. Keeping this here made Lester feel a heavy weight on his shoulder as he owned probably the most expensive thing in the world.

This cultivation book possessed many pages, however, in the cultivation aspect there were only five stages. Each stage allows a person to take a step closer to transforming into a Zu Lizard. A lizard that resides in planets full of black sand and believed to be one of the descendants of the Earth-Dragon. From what the book had said, these lizards were extremely powerful, and many cultivators had problems dealing with them, especially if they had comprehended the law of the black sand. Lester didn't know what this meant, however, he came to the conclusion it was a mistranslation on his part.

The next two things were the two parts of some technique books. One spoke about using swords in many different ways and the other touched upon allowing yourself to grow in size by many times for a short period of time. These were the kind of things that many people today used for cultivation, fragments of cultivation books that could only help you reach so far.

Technique books were different to cultivation techniques books, as it did not allow a person to cultivate, and instead, gave them new abilities. Some cultivation technique books already came with their own techniques, and the person would receive them as they progressed in cultivation, however, outside techniques were also extremely helpful. Although there weren't a huge amount of technique books in the alien ship compared to cultivation books, there were still a good amount. Not every cultivator could use these technique books though, as it required to complement their cultivation technique. If one were to try and use a technique that didn't go well with their cultivation technique it could cause huge problems.

Lastly, there was a strange black gem. The black marquise gem was extremely peculiar and whenever Lester looked at it, he felt a strange feeling that he couldn't explain.

Looking at the book and the pages in front of him Lester revealed a relieved smile and then went into thinking. The small gem came stuck inside of the [Black Sand Zu Lizard Cultivation] and probably wasn't noticed by whoever handled the cargo ship, which made Lester question many things.

Patrick has made his cultivation dream come true and because of Patrick, he was able to leave cultivation unharmed. If he did not possess Patrick's notes and guidance he would surely have done something wrong, therefore, he wanted to repay Patrick in some way. The first thing he thought of was giving the two reminiscences of a book to him and letting him cultivate that, however, he felt wrong doing so. Firstly, because Patrick was a close friend and lastly because he had guided him through all of this. Lester also thought about sharing the [Black Sand Zu Lizard Cultivation] book with Patrick, however, he felt strange doing so as well. Every cultivator possessed secrets regardless of how close they were to each other, their secrets were never revealed.

Two years ago, two brothers found pages of a cultivation book and both of them cultivated it together. Every cultivation book has its own secrets that could change the course of a battle. The Battle-Brothers which were their titles ventured into a forest within the Democratic Republic of Congo and met a powerful beast that was able to enter and possess one of them. As the possessed brother knew all of the other brother's secrets he was easily able to kill him. The possessed brother was later found and killed, however, this showed that no matter how strong a bond between you and a person is, there are things capable of destroying that bond.

This is also what made working for countries so scary. Once you swore loyalty to a country, they would know your secrets completely as they were the ones who provided the resources for you. This is the reason why Lester didn't want his only friend to be the chess piece of a government. Having a cultivator Ally was also extremely important in this world as although beasts were humans' number one enemy, cultivators were something everyone should watch out for. There were many evil cultivators in the world as there were many cultivation books with cruel ways of amounting power.

As Lester looked at all of this an idea came to his mind. He has progressed fairly well in controlling World Qi. He wanted to try something out. He thought about moving the black marquise gem with the World Qi. He had already moved a few light things with it, therefore he wanted to see if he could move this fingernail-sized gem with his own World Qi.

As he controlled the cloud of World Qi that surrounded his fingers, he moved his hand closer to the gem as the cloud began to slowly cover the whole marquise gem. Suddenly as he tried to move the gem with the World Qi, something strange happened.

"Boom!"

His body shook as he heard a loud explosion within his mind. The gem glowed in a faint dark peculiar purple light. Taking a few steps back Lester felt his eyelids grow heavy and his body weak, and as he could no longer hold his eyelids up he fell backward to the ground like a bag of vegetables
