Chapter 37 - Golden Water

The area between my eyebrows suddenly throbbed, and a new stream of information came to my mind.

[Rafik Sharar]

[.....

"Oh, Sh*t! It's back! The appraisal window is back!"

I yelled in excitement as the new window appeared in my mind, without even looking at the rest of the data presented inside the window.

"Really!? What did you see!?"

"Quickly! Tell us!"

Amid the excitement, my friends started clamoring for me to reveal the content of the information. Salem even put a hand on my shoulder and started shaking me with excitement. Half his focus was on the road and the other half was on me again.

I shove his hand away, and yell,

"For god sake! It's the nth time I tell you to focus on the road!!"

"Hehe! Don't worry, this Papy here is an old driver I can drive with my eyes closed."

Even though He replied sheepishly, his hands were honestly put on the wheel.

"Hey! Can't you get it done already? I'm dying to know what the results are!"

Walid yelled through the phone.

"Wait a minute! I haven't checked the details yet!"

Although the identified or appraised 'object' is no longer in sight, as it turned out, I can still recall it at any time. The window status for the previous fuel truck is still there behind the new one, and I can recall now.

Ignoring the old window, I started looking at the new one, this time there is some change in the display.

[Rafik Sharar]

[Race: human]

[Job]

[####%@: none]

[body attributes]

[Remark]

Like I said, there is some change in the 'status' window, it's not as detailed as before. However, I instinctively knew that by concentrating my attention on a specific row, further details can be displayed.

[Rafik Sharar]

[Race: human]

The first two rows didn't give any new results, which is not too disappointing. Think about it, if you see an old acquaintance and you forget their name, boom, here you go, their name magically appeared.

I'm also sure there are other useful uses for this, like in police investigating or something.

As for the race row… yeah it's just that, it's useless to me. Maybe someone studying animals would appreciate it more. Let's see if the next row would display more details.

[Job: Gangster (lowest level) - drug dealer (part-time)]

well… What do you know? It turns out this brother is doing an 'honest' job, actually, it's two 'honest' jobs.

Ignoring the brother above, this row is also useful.

[####%@: none]

… whatever this is, he got none. Let's continue to the next row.

[body attributes:

Age: 21

Height: 1.7

State: healthy

Strength: 1.2

Stamina: 1

Agility: 1

Intelligence: 1

Wisdom: 0.9

Defense: 0.5 + 0.1

@$&)@$@: 0.1

@&#%@##~ ]

D*mn, it's really like a video game character! Though the HP and MP points are missing.

Age, height, and state are self-explanatory, nothing unusual about them. As for strength, stamina, agility, intelligence, and wisdom, those who played video games can understand their effects. Although I'm not sure if they are really the same in reality…

Looking at this fellow attributes, we can assume that the value 1 is the average attribute value for human beings.

Judging by the 1.2 points in strength, it seems this buddy has a little above average strength.

It seems these points were taken from his wisdom, kekek. Otherwise, he won't choose to work as a gangster.

The defense attributes seem to follow another set of rules. I don't think he would have a defense lower than the average human, so maybe the attributes points are representatives of another measuring system that I don't know.

The last two alien attributes can be ignored for now. Let's look at the last row.

[ Remark: Born to a poor family, with the death of his father he had to drop out of school in the fifth grade, and have been doing odd jobs since then to support the family. At the age of 16, a friend introduced him to the casino, and has been working as the lowest level gangster under the Zawat casino since then.

Likes smoking and drinking, his s*xual orientation is normal and because of his good looks, he managed to hook up with his superior wife.

He just ran here after a call from his superior. They got a new mission to intercept and steal a fuel truck with the Karam petroleum logo on it. His mission is to wait at this place and report when he sees the fuel truck, and the other 11 will do the rest. A group of 5 has taken another road to cut off their target retreat

]

This is definitely made for investigators! The amount of details is too much!

It seems his tough life led him to the gangsta life, which is not surprising.

Though he shouldn't put a green hat on his superior, that is unethical! Wait! He is a gangster anyway, pretty unethical if you ask me.

?

They are going to steal a fuel truck? Should I call the police?

Wait a d*mn minute!

Isn't our fuel truck also painted with the Karam petroleum logo!?

Could it be?

"Sh*t"

I yelled in a loud voice, startling Salem, and causing the car to sway a little. He managed to get a hold of it quickly and asked in irritation.

"Why did you scream all of a sudden!"

I ignored him and yelled at the phone while grabbing my backpack and started pulling the extra magazines inside.

"Adam, Walid! Ready your guns!"

"What is happening!?"

"Why would we need guns!?"

The two asked confusingly, however, I still heard them move around to unbuckle their guns, while Salem by my side also pulled his dexterously.

"The one appraised turned out to be a gangster. Their mission is to intercept a fuel truck with the Karam logo on it."

Salem's face became sullen and didn't say anything, just tightened his hand on the steering wheel while looking at the road ahead vigilantly.

"Could their target be someone else?"

Walid asked with a hesitant tone.

"We don't have to deceive ourselves, their target must be us. Even if we aren't their target, they are gonna stop us anyway. Might think of it as two birds with one stone."

I said calmly, thinking of what we should do.

"Should we turn back and go from another direction?"

Salem asked.

"There's another way, but we have to go back all the way near the station."

Walid answered.

However, I shook my head and said,

"We can't! They sent another group to cut off our retreat!"

"Fuck!"

Walid cursed.

"I only have one magazine, that is the one in my gun."

Adam said, to which Walid added.

"I have two extra, you take them! I will focus on driving while you shoot."

Hearing them, Salem put his hand on his holster, then his face changed.

"I didn't bring any extra with me."

I had three magazines on my body, so I handed the extra two to Salem.

"Here you go. Two magazines, I will put them in the cupholder."

"Hmm"

He replied with a hum.

Thinking for a second, I said.

"Stop on the side for a second!"

Salem lowered the speed as he went to the emergency lane on the right.

Walid and Adam followed and stopped beside us.

After getting out of the car, Walid couldn't help but ask,

"Why did you stop?"

I looked at him dead in the eyes and replied with utmost seriousness.

"Because I need to Pee!"

Then I pulled the pipe and sprayed everyone with golden water to bless them for the upcoming danger.
