Chapter 29 - Don't Break The Fourth Wall!!!

Looking at the direction Walid was pointing at, we saw two huge white tanks, with the height of about a four floors building.

A three meter wall enclosed the space where the fuel tanks are located, with barbed wires and sharpened metal skates on top of the wall, making the place look like a highly guarded prison.

The yellow sign with black lightning seemed to reinforce this impression. And as if that's not enough, there are two roofless watchtowers with people wearing civilian clothing while holding thermal weapons and looking around vigilantly.

Seeing the guns in the 'guards' hands aroused our vigilance in return as we looked around silently.

"You are either taking us to a prison, or to a liar of some kind of gang."

Salem with a frown on his face, couldn't help but say in an accusing tone.

Wouldn't blame him, this place doesn't look right. Even if the petroleum distribution company needed protection, they would hire a professional security company, with uniformed personnel, not like the mishmash clothing the people at the tower are wearing.

"Don't worry, this is a legitimate business."

Walid said in a light tone and a funny smile as if he didn't see the weapons.

We looked at him suspiciously not believing what he said, then I asked him with a disbelieving face,

"Since when did a legitimate business hire thugs to protect its property?"

*laugh*

Walid laughed and explained,

"Haha! They didn't hire thugs, this is a family-run business and these people guarding the distribution station are all relatives of the company owner."

Salem didn't seem to be convinced and asked with an amused tone,

"Then why do they have these barbed wires and metal skates, also why don't they hire a professional security company? A company like this shouldn't lack the money to hire professionals."

Walid explained again as he circled the company compound to reach the entrance at the other side.

"Can't you see the current situation, with the shortage of fuel the prices have risen through the roof? They were almost mobbed before, and the security hired by them did nothing at that time, they just hid in the bathroom. The owner had to shoot the robbers with a gun and drive them away by himself."

Will, this kinda makes sense, at least we aren't as tense as before.

By the time he finished explaining we came to the front gate, a huge sign was hung above the gate that read "KARAM PERTROLUME".

Two guards at each side of the gate, both holding an M-16 rifle, are checking every car trying to access the station.

There weren't many cars before them in line, only three, and two of them were fuel tanks.

Three minutes later, it was our turn.

The 'security guards' on the driver's side came to us while the other looked from the side with vigilance, checking the area around from time to time.

Walid lowered the car window on his side to talk with the guard, causing a rush of hot air to blow inside.

The guard was a young man in his twenties with an ordinary face, he was wearing a cap to shield from the sun and a semi-military vest loaded with ammunition.

Before talking he took a glance at everyone in the car, then asked with an expressionless face and an indifferent tone,

"What's your business here?"

Walid was the one in the know, so he handled the talking,

"We are here to receive our order."

He didn't tell him what was the order and the guard didn't ask, he just focused on Walid and asked again with the same indifferent tone,

"Under what name did you place your order?"

Walid replied directly,

"Zaid Repair Shop."

Hearing the name the man nodded and said wait while stepping back a little, then yelled toward a small booth inside the gate on the side.

"Check for Zaid Repair Shop."

We didn't have to wait for long, half a minute later a shout came from the booth.

"Let them in, aisle number 1"

The young guard changed his expression to a smiling one all of a sudden,

"Please come forward, you will find a big sign with the number one on it, you can go there."

It was surprising how he suddenly changed his expression. However, we didn't talk much, after Walid said thank you to the guard, he closed the window and drove the car in.

The inside is packed with fuel trucks of all sizes, with 6 big stations, three on each side.

"Why did he smile at the end?"

Salem at the back couldn't help but ask,

"Aisle number 1 is the station just beside the boss's office, they don't allow every customer to go there, only people who have direct dealings with the boss can go inside."

Walid explained while driving to the first station.

Each station has another smaller gate, but the guards didn't stop anyone this time.

Inside the first station, in the front is the big white tank which can be accessed directly with no wall, with endless pipes spewing out from under the tank, on the right is a small office building while on the left is a shaded distribution station where fuel trucks are being filled at the moment.

We drove directly to the parking lot beside the office building.

*sigh*

"Finally arrived! Do you know how many chapters it took us to get here?"

I said with a sigh of relief.

"""Shut up! Don't break the fourth wall!!"""

The three yelled at me with a threatening expression, ready to beat me at any second.

Not gonna lie, I got scared, so,

*sip*

I took another sip from the newly opened jello pack, moreover, it's strawberry flavored.

"You guys really needed to chill, we got that plot armor!"

I said with a relaxed expression.

"Plot armor doesn't mean you won't get a g*nder b*nder tag add."

Adam warned with a sullen face, causing the rest of us to tremble in fear.

… ama just shut up.

"Let's get out of the car!"

Walid yelled while getting out of the car, successfully putting an end to the conversation.

Before getting out of the car I grabbed a handful of pills and ate them, then mixed some protein powder in a half-filled bottle of water and drank it all in one go. We are about to do serious business here, can't be walking around eating jello like a kid.

The office building is about three meters tall, with only a single ground floor. We walked to the small window with the words information office printed on the glass.

*click* *slide*

"Hello, how may I help you?"

A small part of the window still was lifted revealing a small office with a bald middle-aged man sitting behind the window, who then greeted politely with a smile.

"Ah hello! I have talked with Mr. Karam on the phone about an hour ago, I'm not sure if the order is ready."

Said Walid and the bald middle-aged man smiled even more and asked again,

"Can I ask for your name?"

Replied Walid with a nod.

"Sure! It's Walid from Zaid Repair Shop."

The middle-aged man tapped some keys on the computer to check for the order. Then he pulled the handset of the phone beside him and pressed number 2 on the dial.

"Hello boss, the customer from Zaid Repair Shop is here."

"Okay boss."

*click*

Ending the call, he turned toward us and said with a smile,

"The boss will send someone soon. The weather is too hot so please go inside to the waiting room, it has an AC."

We thanked him and hurried inside because the heat was about to melt us into a slag.

Inside the corridor, we saw a room with the tag "waiting room", when we opened the door we saw a surprise.

"SURPRISE MOTHERF*****!"
