the first day in a wonderland

After finding out that the cave exist was vanished, mai decided to join ragnar and went toward the city of whitestar, as she and her dog went to the city , she saw so many people and races. with different type of behavior and look, one big guy was with a big nose and and have pointy teeth and other one was like a cat walking in two legs , most of the people were like humans but some one those human looking beings had pointy ears , mai was surprised so much seeing new things which only she heard about them in stories , mai and ragnar and pet dog kept going and booked themselves a room in an inn . mai was tired so she just went to bed and slept. and her dog joined her in the sleep , ragnar saw mai and her dog sleeping together make him smile and he went downstairs in the bar , as he went there he saw two strange people looking for orphans and lost childrens. Ragnar didn't care much so he just ordered his regular drink , then one of the strange people came to ragnar asking them if they saw any lost child or orphans , ragnar knows mai was lost but he took responsibility of taking care of her so he tried to avoid them and said he doesn't seen any .After finishing his drink he went back to room to check on mai , he do saw her sleeping peacefully so he left the inn keeper in charge of looking after her so he can meet up with the lord of the city, As ragnar went to the city Hall , he saw thsoe two strange people again, He ignored them and went to report to the lord. After reaching the main Hall , the lord of the city of whitestar , Sir. Balfiig the greater ,he was sitting in his throne as usual,like a statue , Ragnar to went to him and reported about the bandits on the east side of the hold whitestar where he met mai and her dog , He also talked about mai to the lord , then lord Balfiig said "If she is not from whitestar hold , we must escort her back to her home but like you said the cave she talked about vanished , we must find the cave first and keeping her safe until then wil one your responsibility Ragnar." After that Ragnar took oath keep her safe no matter what until she returns back to her home. While Ragnar reports to the lord, the two strange people were eardrops on their talk from the corridor gate . they found about mai being lost and give them opportunity to take her with them . As Ragnar went back to the inn ,he saw a crowd of people was gathered there , once he saw inside the inn the women in charge was killed ,after seeing this Ragnar rushed to the room and he saw mai and her dog was missing, he then suddenly remembered those two strange people asking for lost and orphans children, Ragnar then rushed outside asking about those stange people from others , as Ragnar as the gate guard , he told Ragnar that he saw two people going towards the western ruins with a sleeping girl and. a dog in cage . After that Ragnar grabbed one of the horse from the stable by persuading the stable master , He Rushed to the western ruins , As he went their it started raining heavily, But Ragnar kept going and looked everywhere for mai, he then saw a abandoned house in the corner , As ragnar sneaked the house, he looked inside through the window and saw that mai was tied up in a chair and crying and her dog was in a cage and those two strange people were drinking in one corner, after seeing this Ragnar summoned his sword and burst into the house by breaking the door with his foot, he quickly thrown a smoke leaking bomb inside and rushed toward mai and untied her and grabbed her and the dog along with the cage and rushed outside the home, as those two strange people were coughing because of the gas one of them grabbed a a mace and run towards Ragnar. Ragnar kept running towards the horse but as he reached the horse he turned and saw the one with mace coming towards him. Ragnar then put mai on the horse and put down the cage with dog, and ready himself for a fight with his long big sword.Ragnar tried his best to keep the fight normal as possible because of mai ,but the guy with mace was strong so Ragnar had to cast sleeping magic on her, as Ragnar casted the magic, he tightened the grip of his hand on the sword and give a full forced attack on the guy with the mace and cut down his arm , as the guy with mace screamed with his arm cutted down and he was was bleeding so much, the other guy came too with a unknown man covered himself with cloak and hood , as Ragnar tried to make his guard up , the unknown person start using magic attacks on Ragnar and the other guy dragged his partner who was bleeding in the corner. Ragnar kept blocking the magic with magical shield but the magic attacks of the unknown person was so strong, so Ragnar then summoned a daedra from oblivion using conjuration magic and distracted the unknown man , as the daedra distracted him , Ragnar went full all out attack towards him. Ragnar cut down both hands of the unknown man so he can't use his magic attacks. the unknown man tried to run away while bleeding but then Ragnar didn't showed any mercy and killed him there , as Ragnar looked around for other two , he didn't find them so Ragnar leave and take mai and dog back to the city , as Ragnar reached the city ,the people were shocked seeing him covered in blood and dirt , and the girl was sleeping because of magic so she didn't saw what happened, after that ragnar went back to the inn and put mai on the bed gently. after that ragnar told guards to kept watching over her and the he went to the city hall to report the lord about the unknown man and the two strangers , after hearing what happened and seeing Ragnar covered in blood , the lord put city on high alert , after ragnar asked the lord to sent some guards to the western ruins to check on the scene , so the lord agreed and sent some guards, but after reaching there ,the guards only saw ground covered in blood and 2 hands only, they report lord about only finding blood and hands but no body of the unknown man or any other thing, ragnar was sure he killed the unknown man there but then he remembered the two guys survived ,so they may have took his body to somewhere else except the hands. after that ragnar went to the inn and went to the bath room to take a bath , after that he went and checked on mai and the dog, as mai woke up and asked ragnar what happened, Ragnar can't lie so he told mai everything happened except the blood shed fight. he told her he defeated them and they retreated back to their hole and then took mai back home. after hearing that mai thanks Ragnar for saving her but then suddenly a weird noise came, mai was looking where the noise was coming from as she looked towards Ragnar, she knew he was hungry , same for her she was hungry too so then they both together went to a good place to eat food together. as the city was highly alerted , the lord of whitestar contacted other cities and their lords for finding about unknown man , after few days lord finally able to get some info on the unknown man and that was he was one of the most dangerous group of necromancers who are trying to bring back a dangerous old lord who literally almost made humanity extinct. the lord then start thinking of what he should ,while ragnar and mai spent their days peacefully and happily in city , they both enjoyed and smiled and stayed together as a brother and sister. only God knows how long that smile will stay . and so the real story starts from here and the task to send mai back home too.
