Chapter 16 – The end and a new beginning
As Orochimaru charges at Juan, Atlas uses his strength to top the jaw Orochimaru. Gil sees the fang started to drip its venom; since he can't risk using his powers - least be consumed by Orochimaru, he instead grabs a large chunk of mud and hurl it to the fang and covered it. Tala grabbed Juan to fly him out of there. "You owe me, Juan. You better make it up to me." Juan smiled and thanked her.
The gas from the other head started to spread. Amihan uses a small gust of wind to blow the gas out of her way as she dodges the bites from it. The head which oozes acid saw this opportunity to eat Amihan too. Juan whistled to call for help! Juan's frog on his shoulder leaped to save her. The frog transformed into Juan and more frogs from the area also transformed into Juan. They all landed on the head who produce gas and stab it; distracting it and saved Amihan from her dangerous position. Amihan thanked Juan and his friends for saving her.
"Juan, why didn't your frogs die from the gas?" Jasmine asked as she observed the battle from the village. Juan replies that those frogs have air sacs in them. They are trained to withstand poisonous materials and can hold their breaths for a longer time than humans. "This gives me an idea. Juan, can you conjure more of your illusions?" Juan replied that he can but he needs more frogs to gather to their position and to do so it will take time.
"Kulog, Atlas, and Juan's magics are elements that can't be eaten by Orochimaru. Team, distract the snakeheads. Juan's illusion and Atlas' strength will be our key for killing two of the heads. We need to find the key to killing the third head. Cause more distraction until we need its weakness."
"Kulog, your sound was not eaten by Orochimaru earlier, hit more of those. Kislap, share your power with your sister. Keep running and him Orochimaru distracted." Kislap and Kulog started their magic. Kislap grabs Kislap and shared her powers. Both of them run around Orochimaru while Kulog unleashed sonic blast.
"Atlas and Gil, your strengths are essential in defeating Orochimaru. Atlas, your gundam earlier sliced off 5 of the heads, can you do it again?" Atlas still holding on to the head of the snake, twist it then slam it to the ground. He runs to a safe distance while Gil tries to distract the main head. The earth communes with Atlas as he gathers his magic to create another gundam. Orochimaru sees this and sends his head with acid to destroy Atlas' creation. Atlas manages to roll out of the way before the acid can melt him, his gundam wasn't lucky. It melted before his eyes. "Malaka! I cant build one if that acid head keeps destroying my creation."
Gil was sent flying by the snake's attack and landed near Atlas. "I can't stay there too long. The gas is irritating for me and I can't hold my breath that long". Gil points at the acid and gas head as both continue to produce their toxin to limit the guardians' approach. It's both defensive measures and a tactical attack for Orochimaru. Gil asked Atlas if there are rocks that can withstand such acidity from Orochimaru.
"I summon rocks that can withstand his acid but that head keeps spitting out acid that is more potent than the last. It can outdo the rocks I summon. I need that head to be taken out or I will waste my magic."
"Atlas, remember the iron sword? Can you see it?" Jasmine chimes in. The iron sword is beside the melting gundam. "Yeah, by the first gundam. Why you ask?" Atlas replied.
"Time for plan B. Atlas and Gil, both of you will need to work together and used that sword to cut off the head of Orochimaru. Carry it and cut off the head while the snake is distracted." Jasmine instructed the two then she turns her attention to Amihan.
"Amihan, you been on different lands and saw a lot of stuff in this world. Can you identify what kind of gas that Orochimaru makes? Find its weakness and exploit it against him." Amihan swoops in and collects a gas sample by capturing it in a wind bubble on her hand. Amihan analyzes the gas by separating each property of the gas, piece by piece. And there she finds a peculiar yellow speck of dust in the gas. She can identify the other thing within the gas but not these and she needs someone who can identify it.
Amihan flies to Tala and Juan. There she sees Juan running away from the jaws of Orochimaru and at the last minute, she was saved again by Tala. "Sorry guys! I need some assistance here. Can you identify these?" she shows the two the specks of dust she got from the gas. The three decided to land at a safe distance and tried to analyze the dust. Juan has no idea what it is but he points out that they smell funny - like rotten eggs. The three didn't saw it but one of Orochimaru's heads saw them at the distance. The head tries to crawl towards them but then Atlas and Gil pulled the tail of Orochimaru away from the village and Kislap and Kulog relentlessly continue their assault. "Come here you piece of filth!" Gil shouts as he bites the end tail of Orochimaru. Eventually, the head lost interest in Amihan and tried to catch Gil and Atlas.
"Okay, those two are either brave or crazy. . . " Tala says as he is amazed by the sheer stupidity that fuels Atlas and Gil. Tala then pulls her wand and formed into a knife with its blade sounded with elemental magic. She hits the dust with ice, water, and electric magic to the dust but it made no reaction. She then cast her fire magic and the dust exploded. "Tala, if my hunch is correct, this is sulfur. I saw the Mangbabarang and Albularo from different villages using these kinds of rocks before. The gas is flammable then?" Tala and Juan nods and they informed Jasmine about the discovery.
"Ah! That's why when Orochimaru was charging his elemental attack with those 5 heads earlier, the gas head swayed his head away from the fire head - because the gas head is explosive." Jasmine confirms Amihan's suspicions about their finding.
"Team, we are ready to end this. We have every means to kill each head. Juan will have to deal with the main head, Atlas and Gil will use the iron sword to cut off the acid head and Tala and Amihan will handle the gas one. Kulog and Kislap, you initiate our final attack. You will need to make the snakes open all of their mouths . . . " Jasmine continues to discuss her plans for their last assault.
As the guardians are reading themselves to end the fight, Leshin is also finalizing the repairs on Amhians's ship. The crewmen and Tsunade's men are working fast as they can to get the ship back in the air.
"Kento, are you sure we are all set?" Leshin asked him as they both walk over and oversee the repairs on the deck.
"We are Leshin. The men have provided the crew with the biggest rocks you have seen. . . not sure what you are doing with such rocks." Keno replies.
"Kento, those rocks are what we are going to kill that huge snake with." Kento nods and leaps out of the deck and lands outside.
"Don't worry Leshin, all of our borders are safe and our tengu is sound asleep in his cell. You can rest easy. We will protect this castle at all costs." Kento says to Leshin as he waves goodbye. The ship began to float then elevates higher and higher. Leshin waves goodbye to Kento. Leshin feels somewhat unsettling since his fight with Daija. He knows he defeated him but his guts tell him that the fight is far from over. Leshin shakes it off and he readies himself. I need to focus.
Leshin puts his spear in the middle of the ship and channels his magic thru it. His magic made vines grow from the tip of his spear and spread out thru the ship until it envelops it. The ship glows green then flower buds began sprouts within the wood and began to bloom immediately. The vines cover must of the ship's interior to hold the ship tighter. Vegetation began to grow around it. The dock now hosts a small balete tree in the middle of it and there are a lot of bushes growing over the ship bearing fruits like lemons and oranges. Leshin dislodged the spear and proceed to the cannons of the ship. There the rocks from Kento rest, he taps each rock by the tip of his spear and there the rocks began to split into many pieces and formed into cannonballs. The crewmen cheer as they have ammunition for them to use. "To Amihan! Your captain needs our help more than ever!" The ship gave a big hurrah as they ascend to the sky and now head toward the giant snake.
"Fire!" Tsunade yells while clutching her ribs. Her warriors fire arrows at the assaulting yokai that manage to get into the village. Clashing swords and screams fill her ears but her eyes see something more concerning, she saw an oni climbing a set of stairs to where Jasmine is. Tsunade hastily fires an arrow and manages to take out the oni before it reaches Jasmine. Tsunade runs to Jasmine and she yells "Chronicler, this isn't a safe place! The yokai are gaining ground in this area. We need to retreat to a safer place."
She wasn't finished talking and she heard another batch of oni running up the stairs. Tsunade uses her snail shaman magic to defend themselves; from the tip of her fingers, sticky web sprayed and manage to slow the onis down. She poured more until the oni cannot run or move. Then she fires arrows to their third eye and the onis fall in an instant.
She puts down the bow and tries to understand Jasmine as to why she remains focused on talking instructing the guardians despite her the danger around them. Jasmine seems not to care what is going on so Tsunade decided to grab her by the shoulder then she felt strong energy coming out of Jasmine; as if Jasmine is being protected by something the Tsunade cant see.
"Chronicler!" Tsunade yells and this time it manages to catch the attention of Jasmine as the kid looked at her with confusion. "Oh! Tsunade you are now awake! Are your wounds okay?" she asked while shutting the book closed. Jasmine runs towards her while checking her wounds. Tsunade assures her that these are just mere flesh wounds and nothing serious. Jasmine touches her wounds but this time, whatever energy that is present within the Chronicler is gone. Tsunade looks toward Jasmine was sitting and there she saw scorch marks, arrows, and other scratch marks by magic on the wall, ceiling, and even the floor but no marks are found to where Jasmine was sitting. "What was she doing there? Is there some kind of luck that prevents her from being hit by any of those magic?" Tsunade asked herself as she guides themselves to the next stronghold they got. As they run past the battles on the streets, Tsunade must not have noticed that none of the projectiles were hitting them. It's all thanks to the Bookmark that Jasmine has as it always protects her from all physical harm.
Kislap and Kulog have taken their place. Atlas and Gild stand beside the large iron sword. Tala and Amihan take to the sky as bait for Orochimaru and Juan is almost ready. Thousands of frogs have gathered toward their area. All of them leaped from their homes to help Juan to defeat Orochimaru. Juan reached the max and has gathered enough magic. He yells thru his telepathic link and informs the team that he is ready.
Kislap and Kulog's eyes lit up with electricity. They raised their metal rods and summoned lighting to their weapons. Orochimaru sees this and was drawn to it. He thinks this is another elemental attack and he hopes that he can eat it and gain another head.
"Sis, you ready?" Kislap asked.
"You got this" Kulog replied.
Kulog hurled the lightning toward Orochimaru. Kislap runs past the lighting and leaps high into the air, Amihan uses her wind hold Kislap into the air. Orochimaru opens his mouth and prepares to gobble up the lighting. Kislap holds his metallic rod and redirects the lightning to his weapon and the lighting itself arc upwards and missing Orochimaru's bite. Orochimaru looks at lighting gathering at Kislap's rod and he wants more of it. His three heads rise just to catch a bite of the massive lighting Kislap got
Jasmine predicted this: Orochimaru's size is burning too much of his energy and soon he will have to eat to maintain this form and after the 5 heads were cut, he will be desperate to find any magic that can grow him another head. It's either Orochimaru give up this form or he continues to be a massive pain for them - Jasmine thinks it's the latter. And she is right.
Jasmine instructed the guardians to attack once the three heads open their mouths. And right on queue: the heads began to widen their mouth to take a bite. The guardians all move to seize the moment.
Juan's frog jump into the gaping mouth of the main head. Amihan uses her wind to throw all the frogs into the mouth. Juan uses his magic and transforms all of them into him and with their copy of Juan's knife. They started to slice the insides of the mouth and innards of the main head. Orochimaru tried to produce venom from his fang but it cant secrete any venom due to the mud that Gil threw earlier - it hardens and now blocks it from poisoning the frogs in his mouth. With the frog free to move, they went deeper into Orochimaru's throat and proceed to cut more of his flesh.
Atlas and Gil carried the huge iron sword; they lift it together and steady their aim to the head that oozes acid.
"Come on, lift this with me!" Atlas screams.
"Stick to the plan Atlas, Chronicler said I am the one to do it!" Gil replied.
The two began to fight over who got to carry the sword and the one who will deal the blow to the snake.
"Guys! Time is the essence!" Jasmine shouts over the two. Gil suddenly leaves the weight to Atlas and jump to the tip of the iron sword. Atlas was visibly angry at Gil but he has little time to worry about that. Gil musters his strength and kicks the sword. The impact of the kick was massive, Atlas is at the other end who guides the trajectory of the sword. Gil continuously punches on the tip of the sword. The sword falls and manages to slices of the head of the acid snake. The acid began to spill out and sprayed all over the battlefield. The acid starts to spread and eventually the huge iron sword was hit by the acid and it too began to melt. Atlas and Gil manage to run away from the acid spray while the two are still arguing who should have killed that snake.
Amihan and Tala dodge and weave out of every gas that the other emits. And when the gas head opened its mouth, Tala flies near to the gas head and throws her want into the mouth of the snake. It didn't seem to notice the dagger due to its massive size. When the main head was swarmed by the frogs and the acid head was cut off, the gas head realized that the lighting was just a ruse and they are being baited. This head began to spill a lot of gas around the area to prevent the guardians from getting near it. It furiously sprays its gas, Amihan uses her wind magic to let the gas maintain within a huge bubble within Orochimaru's area. Tala reaches her hand to the snake, concentrates her magic and connection to her wand then she ignites her wand. The gas burst into flames and the gas head implodes. The gas continues to burn and Amihan uses her wind magic to contain the explosion within and around Orochimaru.
The fire and acid start to eat up the other two heads but the main head still struggles from the frogs within it and some even manage to get further into the most innards part of Orochimaru's inside. The frogs stab and slice their way inside of Orochimaru.
"Yeah, I learned that from Atlas when he killed that serpent yokai". Jasmine celebrates and yells for joy. The other yokai heard Jasmine and looked at Orochimaru. What they saw, their leader being taken down by mere mortals sent them started into a panic. They started to retreat and some fought their way towards Tsunade to get back at their attack towards their leader. But none managed to get near Tsunade, they all get killed by her or her royal guards.
The guardian charged in! Atlas started to pull Orochimaru's tail with Gil to dragged him away from the village. Amihan uses her Ginunting to slice Orochimaru's body. Tala summoned her wand back to her hand and joined the others in damaging the Orochimaru further. Kulog and Kislap absorbed their lighting back to their weapons. They run and climbed to the head of Orochimaru and began to slam it on its skull. Juan is on a safe distance channeling his power to the frogs.
As they thought they are already winning, Orochimaru uses this remaining strength to call snakes of all shape and size to his side and fight on his behalf; just like Juan's technique with his frogs. Soon, snakes converge on the battlefield. They might not transform into Orochimaru but their venom is potent enough to kill any men. The muscles of Orochimaru began to contrast and boil, and then snakes began to emerge from it. They began biting the frogs and soon they manage to trap and kill most frogs inside Orochimaru.
Tala sees from the air that more snakes began to converge in their area, the scales of Orochimaru also began to boil and more snakes to emerge from it. This made Tala angry and prepared a fireball to launch it at Orochimaru then Amihan stops her and reminds her "No Tala, one elemental attack, and he will absorb it and grow another head. He must be dealt with but with physical means".
Tala clenched her fist. "Damn, if I don't, then the frogs inside will die in vain! We need to save them! They might be frogs but they are fighting for us too! It will be a massacre!"
"I understand you Tala, they might die but they are willing to do this if it meant it will end the madness in this island" Juan replied. "We will win with wit and strategy. Not rash decisions. "
"I agree, we need something that Orochimaru can't eat and will damage him" Amihan chimes in.
"Like my rock gundam!" Atlas exclaimed.
"Yes, can you build another one?" Jasmine asked as she points out that the acid head is dead, maybe Atlas can make another one.
Atlas leaves Gil to hold the tail and he starts to build another rock gundam. He channels most of his remaining magic into his creation and he informs the team he will need additional time to create a stone sword too.
Orochimaru sees Atlas' creation. Not again! I WONT LET THEM! He uses the strength from the Bathala body part within him and restores some of his strength! The body part, just like Daija, gave him the power of adaptation, and now since he can't eat any elemental magic - he will have to rely on his raw strength. His renewed strength gave him enough to overpower Gil and throw him off his tail. And without Gil holding his movements, he used his tail and slammed the rock gundam of Atlas.
Good thing Atlas finished the gundam and manage to catch the tail. And now with his last magic spent he yelled to his teammates "Guys!, I'm almost out of juice! I guess my magic wasn't refilled after all that light food from Tsunade. I can't make a new sword but I am sure I can beat Orochimaru with this." Atlas push the tail away and instead wrestled Orochimaru and try to beat him down.
The rest of the guardians are doing their best too. Kislap and Kulog run around Orochimaru's body to kill the snakes that were summoned thru the scales. Amihan uses her Ginunting to slice the belly open and Tala behind her slices everything she sees.
Atlas manages to get the upper hand during the wrestle with Orochimaru. He slams him to the ground and while Orochimaru is dizzy, Atlas steps on the neck then punch the head again and again. Angered by this, Orochimaru grabs Atlas' gundam with his tail and maneuver itself to coil around it and started to constrict and crush Atlas within his gundam.
"Atlas! Get out of there!" Juan yells but Atlas replied he cant for Orochimaru's grip tighten by the second. And with his magic gone, he can't bend the rocks to his will. The guardians desperately try to help Atlas but Orochimaru keeps his grip tight. No matter how many slice and stab they did, Orochimaru won't let go.
"Now I will teach you the meaning of losing someone" Orochimaru yells as coils harder. The pressure builds up and it started to crush the gundam. Atlas screams for help. The guardians felt every passing second can be the last for Atlas. As much they want to use their elemental magic, they can't risk it. And when all hope seems lost . . . BOOM! An explosion hits the side of Orochimaru and manages to hurt him enough to lose his grip on the gundam. Atlas sees his chance and crawls his way out . Atlas jumps out of there just in time before the gundam he created was crush into dust.
BOOM! Another explosion hits. "What? Who is using their magic? Is that you Tala?" Jasmine asked but Tala responded that she wasn't casting any magic as she didn't want to give Orochimaru another magic to fuel him. Another explosion hits Orochimaru in his mouth but he didn't manage to swallow the explosion, rather the explosion gave him a big hole in his mouth.
A barrage of the explosion soon follows and Orochimaru is now hurting bad. He screams and tries to eat the explosion but it wasn't magically. The explosion is not relenting and it is keeping up on attacking Orochimaru.
"Did you think I would leave you guys alone?" Leshin's voice comes thru the frogs on their shoulders! The clouds parted and there he stands abroad the ship of Amihan.
"Leshin! You are here and with my men and my ship!" Amihan yells. She sees the ship and is in awe of how beautiful it is. She flies toward the ship and when she got nearer, she sees the ship's splendor and beauty. She lands on the deck and sees the men are at it: putting the canon at work and using their magic to make their ship fly as it was before. Leshin welcomes her back to the ship and asked "Like what I've done to the place?"
Amihan's eyes glitter as she looks all over the place. Splendid walls are reinforced with nature, plants to feed them, and the woods are much sturdier than the last. "Like it? No . . . I ADORE IT!"
"Charge your wind magic and propel us around the snake. Use all the cannons and don't use ant element magic to the snake!" Amihan yells to her crew. Instructing more on how to handle the snake.
"As predicted, this snake is just like Daija...adapting" Leshin whisper to himself.
"Why didn't you reply or talk to us, Leshin?" Jasmine asked. Because during the duration of the war, Leshin was not replying after when Orochimaru turned into a huge snake. Jasmine's voice came from Amihan and not thru Leshin's frog.
"I think it because he is not responding well. . . " Leshin points at the shaking frog on his shoulder. The frog is shaking with fear and Leshin explains to Amihan that he fought Daija, Orochumaru's partner in crime. Amihan giggles a bit and responded for Leshin.
Leshin talks to Amihan and explained that Daija has the power of adaptation; whatever he eats, he gains that power. Amihan nods her head and tells Leshin that this huge snake is Orochimaru and he too has this power.
"Guys looks at the body of Orochimaru!" Gil yells and there they see that the barrage of the cannons has taken its toll on Orochimaru's body as it fell. The body falls lifeless and despite this, the barrage keeps going to be sure that Orochimaru stays down. Then the snakes from Orochimaru's body crawled out the wounds from the huge body and started to slither away. And behind them are the frogs. They slice their way out of the body of Orochimaru and they are still killing all the snakes they see. Juan realized something, Orochimaru can turn into a snake and escape as one. That is why his frogs are killing all the snakes they encounter. Juan abandons his position and runs toward the fallen body.
As he runs and slices the snakes that he encounters. "Guaridans! It's now or never! Kill every snake you see. Orochimaru might transform as a snake and escape." Atlas and Gil rip every snake they see. Kislap and Kulog crush every snake they pass while running at top speed. Amihan carries Leshin and landed near Tala where they proceed to cut down the snakes they encounter. Back at the village, the soldiers and Tsunade have observed more of the yokai retreating when they saw the body of Orochimaru is fall from the continuous barrage from Amihan's ship. The pressure of seeing their leader fallen and their comrades dying have caused panic in the ranks of the yokai.
Juan moves seamlessly around the battlefield like a blur. He slices every snake he sees before it can see him. His eyes rapidly look in all directions for any snakes and kill them before he moves on to the next area.
Then he felt a call . . . his friend and partner, his frog has found Orochimaru. Juan hastily runs past the other snakes and hurries to his friend.
There atop of the head of Orochimaru's snake body, he sees the battle of his friend still guised as him and Orochimaru wearing his armor. Orochimaru's katana locked with Juan's friend. Orochimaru kicks the frog in the stomach and it sent the frog flying. The kick was strong enough for the illusion to wears off and the frog return to its original state. As the frog falls, Juan catches his friend and placed him on his shoulder. He leaps in the air and slams his knife with Orochimaru's blade.
"Jiraiya . . . you have come to me at last. I have accepted that I might die here but I will take you down with me before that happened." Orochimaru lashes out and furry. The only thing fueling his mind is to kill the man that caused him so much pain.
"Orochimaru, I am disappointed in you. You could have made this island better with your power. Influence them or be their shining beacon of hope and change!" Juan blocks the attack. He snaps his finger and two more frogs leap from the shadow. They tried to assist Juan but Orochimaru quickly dispatches them with ease.
"You changed my life for the worst!" Orochimaru unsheathed a smaller second blade and slashed Juan's left side. Juan disengaged and dodges the flurries of attack. Orochimaru followed Juan to wherever he goes. Juans manages block to Orochimaru swords but he felt that the pace of Orochimaru's attack is getting faster and faster the longer they fight. Orochimaru's strike manages to get in the defense of Juan. It hit Juan's leg and shoulders, and this made Orochimaru laughing as they fight because he realized that Juan is getting weaker and his death comes nearer and nearer.
"Amihan, can you shoot a cannonball in my area? I am fighting Orochimaru" Juan asked and Amihan declined "You and Orochimaru will get blasted if I do that."
"Then, can you drop a cannonball from your ship then change its trajectory with your wind?" Amihan replied that she can do that but she can't aim well if Orochimaru and Juan kept moving.
"I'll give you the signal. I will restrict his movement." Amihan flies back to the ship to get a cannonball and prepares for Juan's plan.
Orochimaru doesn't give a damn about anything else at this point. His rage consumes everything and even his basic cognitive. His hatred for Juan is so intense that it is the only thing that keeps him going. His thoughts of his happy days with Tsunade, their promise, the future they want to build together are gone when Juan entered their life. And all the suffering he experienced and injustice, he all blamed it on Juan. Each slash he made makes him smile. Every time he sees Juan bleeds, he grew happy for the revenge he sought so long ago is finally here. The attacks are unrelenting that it bought Juan is on his knees.
Juan is defending with the last of his strength but he kept his wits. He is waiting for the best opportunity to strike. He felt a lick on his cheek; his frog is back on its feet. Juan smiled and yelled at Amihan to do it. Juan locked his blade against Orochimaru. Juan and his frog talked via telepathy: He instructed his frog to jump and expand to restrain the movements of Orochimaru. The frog leaps from Juan's shoulder and grew in size. Then it slammed itself over Orochimaru. Due to the frog's weight, Orochimaru is crushed and now he can't move. Juan immediately stabs Orochimaru's left hand and the right one hand was constricted by the frog's tongue.
Amihan grabs the cannonball from the ship and threw it overboard. She uses her wind magic to guide it mid-air. "His head, do it Amihan!" The cannonball fell and with thanks to the wind magic, it landed right into Orochimaru's head and crushed it.
The last thing Orochimaru did was fighting off Juan and his frog. He screamed for Juan's death and proclaimed Juan will never know true happiness. He wished that one day, his actions will be the death of his allies and loves ones and before he can finish his threats, the cannonball killed him
"The war is over! Orochimaru is dead!" Juan yelled at the top of his lungs and thru the frogs. The snakes scatter and the remaining yokai ran and escaped. The men celebrate their victory. Juan and his frog lay there for a quick rest. They close their eyes and finally, they can rest easy.
The rest of the guardians stopped finally can take a breather. Tsunade and her men cheered and they chant the names of guardian that helped them killed Orochimaru. All but one didn't cheer, Jasmine.
She is looking at the sky and yells thru the frogs "JUAN! GET OUT OF THERE! THERE'S A YOKAI ABOVE YOU!"
Juan opens his eyes and there is a yokai on the sky dive-bombing his way to him. The frog grabs Juan with his tongue and leaps out of there. The impact was powerful enough that it sends both of them flying.
The yokai have the body of a tengu but its hair is silk white and pale skin. It's like a human body without the feathers of a bird and no beak but it got the wings of a tengu.
Kislap and Kulog catch Juan and his frog. The figure sat on the dead body of Orochimaru and proceeds to claw into the body of Orochimaru. Kislap put Juan gently into the ground and runs to the yokai.
"Ah! Another guardian." it says. Vines then proceed to grow from its area and latches on Kislap's foot. The vines started to burrow itself into his flesh but Kislap manages to swat it off with his weapon.
The vines grew around the dead body of Orochimaru and its huge snake body. The vines started to envelop the bodies and the guardians can see that the vines are drinking the blood back to the yokai.
"Daija?! HE IS STILL ALIVE?!" Leshin is shocked by this revelation. He doesn't know how he lived but he is dedicated to kill this monster again. He rushes in and Tala flies beside him. "Guys! This guy can also eat and adapt it to his advantage. That vine was mine. Keep away from it or it will suck out your blood." Leshin warns the others as he cuts the vines and summoned spinning sharp rocks around him to cut the vines that are trying to get him. Tala uses her fire to burn the vines away and to let the other guardians get near Daija.
Daija doesn't seem to care on what the guardians are doing. He kept them busy with the vines he created while he is busy clawing the body or Orochimaru. Then he stopped and he yelled. "YES! This is it!" He plucked something from Orochimaru's body and raised it high and there they saw a leg. An old and mummified is withing Orochimaru's body.
Daija got what he needs. He spreads his wings and flies away. Amihan and Tala try to give chase but they were stopped by when they saw the vines continuously grow as it feeds on the dead bodies on the battlefield.
"Guys! Stop the vines first! Leave the bird yokai" she yells.
Tala and Amihan agreed, they returned to the ground and started clearing up the vines. Tsunade's men also get out of the village and entered the battlefield to douse the vines in oil and burn them before they cause more havoc.
The day is won but did they win?
Jasmine stands alone in the middle of the street. She thinks to herself that this will not be the end of it. She feels that whatever that Daija took will come back to haunt them. She turns around and decides to help the guardians clearing the vines but then the lady from the bookmark appears before her.
"You are right Chronicler. This isn't over."
"Well, we have saved the day at least."
"You did and now you shall prepare for the real battle is upon us."
"Real battle for what? For the mummified leg?" Then as Jasmine asked the White Chronicle glows in white splendor. The magic grows intensely. The lady also glows in unison with the Chronicle.
"The prerequisites are made. Now you shall receive the first message" the lady then touches Jasmine's forehead with her slender fingertips.
Once was Jasmine touched, her vision disappears and was replaced by a white shining light. She cant hear, see, feel, or even move. All she can see is a bright light. Jasmine feels that the world around her is gone and as if she was transported into another world.
A person's voice started to fill the white light. ". . . and this is done. There we go!" the voice said. Jasmine can see a silhouette of a tall man, who spoke earlier, and a smaller one. The tall one handed the small one a book.
The smaller one took a book and asked "And where will you go?"
"Ofcourse! To them! I wanna see if this land can be good"
"They are since you made it"
"I gave them the free will to handle everything there"
"And you are leaving us for this?"
"Well, yes. You are capable of leading this brigade are you?"
The small one nods and holds the book tighter.
"Well then! Anymore question before I go?" The tall man asked as he open a door.
The small one opens the book. He flips the pages and then he sighs. "But there is nothing in here."
"Yet! But soon you will have its pages filled. That book is what I am and what will become. It is unique compared to the others I made." The tall man replied.
"What do you call it?" The small one asked.
The tall man scratches his head and looked around the room. "There's the red one for time, the black for summoning . . . OH! I know" The tall man puts his hand on the top of the book and says "The White Chronicle."
As the tall man says the name of the book, the book began to glow and another bright light shines. The white grew brighter until Jasmine can't see.
When she came to Jasmine is still standing on the same street as if not a second has passed. "What. . .was that?" she asked the lady but the lady also responds she has no idea what happened. As she did was to follow the will of the White Chronicle.
"Was that how you are created?" Jasmine asked once more as she reaches and opens her book to see if anything changed and to no one surprise, nothing changed with the White Chronicle. The lady just shrugged and then disappears.
"Chronicler! Did you see that?!" Leshin yells over the frog on Jasmine's frog.
"I saw that too!" Tala replied as her voice starts to shrivel in a bit of panic.
"Where just under attack and now what? A telepathic attack?" Atlas is confused.
"I didn't do that! I swear! That prank is out of my league" Juan chimes in.
Jasmine looks over yonder and wonders what will come next to them. She ignores the guardians for a second and starts to walk towards her team. She thinks to herself that more unanswered questions are appearing the more they go on this quest. She just hopes that this answers to the reason why they are here in the first place - the snake cult.
