Big night

The Xia Mansion was decorated beautifully for their princess's big night. Her favorite flowers were made into arrangements and were displayed all over. There were peonies, lilies, tulips, baby's breath, and lots of green foliage to add that ethereal feel. There was a live orchestra playing soft music. This was Xia Biming's favorite part. She loved listening to the melodious tunes of the violin and cello.

In her room, she was surrounded by makeup artists and hair stylists that worked on her like she was the queen. Of course, all of this was insisted on by her own mother. The previous week, her mom even dragged her out to shop for dresses. After spending all day out shopping, they managed to snag two beautiful even gowns, matching shoes, and all the accessories a girl could ask for.

The first evening gown which she would wear to be introduced would be an elegant light pastel green dress. The shade of green, really complimented the beauty of Biming's pale skin, it seemed to make her glow. The dress was just slightly puffy, with an A-line skirt that cinched at her delicate waist. There was also a slit in the skirt going up all the way just to the bottom of her thigh. The bust was mostly made of tulle. It was conservative enough but still showed off her assets well and highlighted some of her cleavage. The tulle of the bodice wrapped up to one side and made the dress a one-shoulder dress. The tulle used to become the strap of the dress was beautifully adorned with small white flowers with a small diamond inside each one. She matched it with a pair of nude open toed ankle strap heels and large diamonds hung around her neck and ears.

Her hair was curled beautifully and pinned back to show off her gorgeous features. The pins were one of a kind that also happened to match her other diamond accessories. With her makeup done, she was ready to head down to the party.

Her parents and brother all came up to see her before they all made their way down. To her surprise, even her grandparents came up. They wished her a lifetime of happiness and gave her big hugs and kisses.

"Honey, I need to tell you something about your party tonight." Mother Xia didn't want her going into tonight completely blind.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?" Biming looked at her brother and father for any signs of distress.

"No, nothing's wrong sis. Just don't be mad, okay? Mom and dad only want the best for you." Huanting tried to reassure her.

"Honey, I know your relationship with Yu Tianhao didn't end too long ago. But I want you to move on from him. You should open up to someone new. Someone better. Someone who will love you." Her mother calmly told her.

"Your mother's right. You're still young, but I can't be rest assured until I know someone trustworthy can take care my princess. I only want the best for you. Did I tell you that you are absolutely breath taking tonight?" Her father's last sentence ticked her suspicions that something was off.

"What did you guys do?" Xia Biming finally asked the right question.

"I didn't do anything; it was mom and dad. They threatened me!" Xia Huanting said defensively as he took a step back.

"Sweetie, its just that… Well… tonight, there are going to be many of your friends and peers downstairs. And a lot of the men happen to be from nice families. And they're also single. And you're also single now. So, I wanted to find you a suitable partner." Her mother finally spat out the secret they've been keeping for the last few weeks.

"Mom… How could you do this to me? I'm happy the way I am now. I don't need a man. I just want to work at the company. This is so embarrassing." Xia Biming couldn't tell if she was more angry or more embarrassed. She completely fell into her family's trap.

"Don't worry, if any of them try to mess with you. They won't even have hands to feed themselves by morning." Her big brother hugged her and promised to be her knight in shining armor tonight.

She felt that she couldn't be mad at her family for only wanting the best for her. They love her so much and only want to see that she was happy. How could she be angry?

She sucked it up and gave them all a big bear hug. "Okay. I'll see if any of those people down there are worthy. But I make no promises."

That was all they could as for. Was to see the princess of their family give it a shot and try to be happy.

Father and mother Xia made their way down the royal stairs first. They stepped up to the small stage built in the mansion's ballroom. "Welcome everyone! We are so happy that all of you were able to come out and celebrate my dear daughter's birthday. She's truly exceptional and the apple of our eyes. Today, she turns 24 and we couldn't be any prouder of her. She's made her way into the business world herself. Without further ado, our esteemed guests, we would like to introduce our daughter. Xia Biming!" Father Xia was nearly on the verge of crying.

Everyone pointed their heads towards the stairs. There she was, being escorted down by her brother. Dressed in such a breathtaking gown, she left everyone stunned. Her beauty was beyond many and her elegance was on another level. The sibling duo made it down the stairs and met up with their parents in the middle of the ballroom.

From there, Xia Huanting made his exit from the group. He desperately needed a drink, as he hated large get togethers like this. The parents stood on either side of Xia Biming and introduced her to many of the guests. The majority of them were as her mother said, candidates for marriage.

Xia Biming did not want to lie, many of them were indeed very handsome. But she needed to know how their personalities as well.

Then she was introduced to someone familiar. She was introduced to a well dressed and dapper Chang.
