At the end of The Dinosaur's era

Over the weeks the red hue in the sky had been getting darker, like the earth knows what will happen and dreads it. 

Right now, I am running towards where I think the meteor will strike.

Why, because of my power of evolution, if the meteor hits me point blank it will strengthen my body to an insane level, meaning most of the weapons that can hurt me now will barely put a scratch on me.

Some may think I am a masochist wanting to have my body painfully destroyed and then slowly rebuilt, maybe, Nah Just kidding. After all that pain my strength will be improved by a lot, not sure how much though.

And about Nico, my nice little hem big cat. I found out he was she, yeah that is a funny story but also one for the future. Now I have to rename her.

But that is for later. 

The whole point is that the meteor is going to hit in less than an hour.

I have been digging underground at my original cave I dug very deeply but made it out of very hard rock, and underneath a mount is a deep cave in which I kept some genetic material of all the animals, plants, and intriguing things like some things that felt magical to me.

The meteor is getting closer I go to my large cat, who is very intelligent, able to understand me, and somewhat communicates through gestures, and I pet her head and then walk towards the food chamber.

Over the past months after I built the underground lair or bunker, I started going around fighting and killing animals for food because I knew once the meteor hit the whole atmosphere would be covered up for about five hundred years causing the animals to slowly die out, until the new age comes and then life starts forming back up.

I am excited because of the powers I will shortly be getting.

As the meteor struck the earth, I could feel the reverberation and the point of impact being me. My body held out for half a second, and then my blood started pouring out of all my pours my blood to boil and bones to shatter from the pressure.

I screamed out loud "Ahaa," I could feel myself losing consciousness, but I persevered, just about to give up.

Luckily my adaptive physiology kicked in trying to save me from death but boosting my regeneration to insane proportions.
