Chapter 3

Celestia told me a lot of interesting things about the prince .The prince had been very reserved and tried to limit his contacts from a young age.It was all because of his late mother Lady Benette. She was the second wife of the king.She was a musician and the king fell in love with her when she came to the palace for a performance.Everything was fine until the king found out that Benette was having an affair.

The king was furious and he put her in lifelong imprisonment.He loved her so much that he couldn't kill her however it wasn't the case with Benette ,she ran away three days later.This incident left a huge scar in Sylvian's heart and he has a hard time trusting and opening up to others,especially girls.

I felt very sympathetic towards the prince.I could understand how much it would've hurt to see yor mother behave like this.I bid her majesty farewell and was about to leave."I hope we get along in the future Lady Amnesia ,I entrust my son in your hands ",Celestia smiled at me and left.

I was lost in thoughts during my journey back home .I was thinking about Sylvian but then i was reminded about myself.I had no time to pity the guy who is potential danger to me .In addition,I already caused him to dislike me even more.

After coming back home Abbot came to visit me."Dear ,how was the visit?",he asked me in a concerned manner .It seems like he was worried about how prince would treat me hearing those rumours."It was very good papa.The emperor and empress were very pleased to meet me and the prince was very gentle and affectionate to me."I lied with a big fake smile on my face.I didn't want to worry him.he heaved a sigh of relief and said,"That's good to hear.I know there are some ridiculous rumours about what happened but don't let them bother you.I heard from the guards that you were trying to investigate the matter.I would like to advice you to stop doing that.""but why papa?you are falsely accused don't you want to clear your name?"I rebuked.

"The strange illness was caused by some magic so powerful that it took me months to fight back.I'm afraid that if we try to find the truth about it ,it may harm you and that is the last thing I would want."Abbot tried to justify. "Alright papa don't worry about it."i assured him.He smiled worryingly and hugged me.I started to wonder who could've done that.By now it was clear to me that Abbot wouldn't do that.I needed to find the person behind it.I didn't want papa nor me to be criticized like this .Beth was the only option now since papa ordered me not to ask anyone about that.

After i went back to my chamber Beth pounced on me"how was the prince miss?did you talk to him?was he as handsome as the rumours?"I grabbed her arms and told her "calm down ,will you?"She then offered me water and stood there waiting for my response."It was a beautiful encounter .Maybe it was love at first sight for both of us."I pretended to blush as i said that."miss do tell me about it .I've been waiting since ages for this!"Beth seemed to believe my lies."Okay but on one condition.Tell me about all the magicians and the magic towers in our city."

"but miss,Sir Abbot had ordered us not to tell you about these things."Beth seemed worried."Don't worry I just wanted to know more about magic it is not about the incident ."I assured her.She was hesitant but I persisted her."Sir Abbot is the most powerful sorcerer in our city .There also exists a magic tower at the outskirts of our city .people say very few wizards are left there after some powerful sorcerer killed most of them.Many few people know about it now."

I had made up my mind to visit the magic tower .I had to find the truth now.

The next morning, I went upto Abbot and said,"papa,i would like to visit our castle in the outskirts of the city.I would like to take some time for myself before the wedding."Abbot seemed a little unwilling but he didn't stop me .That very evening I set out with Beth and a few guards .I was a little scared after knowing about the sorcerer who killed other wizards but I had made up my mind to find out the truth.We reached our castle the next morning.
