Why is he helping me?

Kaiden looked at Jasper, why was he helping him this much?

"So your first errand is to go get me lunch. Go to the cafeteria, tell them I sent you to get my lunch. Get lunch for yourself too and get back here."

"Okay sir." Kaiden replied. Jasper went back to his office while he changed into his uniform.

He then went to the cafeteria, "I am here for Mr Jasper's food." he told the woman in charge.

She peered at him suspiciously. "And you are?" she asked.

He quickly showed her his ID card. "I am Kai West, a new employee." he introduced himself.

She still kept looking at him suspiciously.

"Have we met before?" she asked.

"No, ma'am. I don't think so, this is my first day in the company." Kai denied.

"Hmmm, that's strange. I could have sworn we have met before, you seem very familiar." she said.

Kaiden's heart beat fast in his fear. Of course she would find him familiar. She had been Tia's nanny growing up, when Tia was old enough. He had put her in charge of the cafeteria. If there was anybody who knew him well, it would be her.

"Well it must he deja vu or whatever you youngsters call it these days" she said with a shrug.

She turned around to talk to the workers.

"Pack Mr Jasper's meal." she looked at Kaiden.

"And what do you want?" she asked.

"Anything filling would do." he answered.

"And pack a meal for this young man as well." she further instructed.

Soon both meals were ready. "Here you go, enjoy your meal." she told him.

"Thanks." he replied and took the meal.

As he walked away, Kaiden wondered where she had been when his little sister had to stay in such an apartment and suffered before she sacrificed herself for him.

He looked around the cafeteria, he had employed most of them here, given their children scholarships, bought houses for most of them, yet it had been so easy for them to betray him.

He continued walking back to Jasper's office. Meanwhile the woman at the cafeteria continued gazing at him,

"what's wrong ma'am?" one of the workers asked her.

"It's him, he looks familiar so much like I have seen him before." she said.

"Well I heard he is a new employee, he started today actually. He begged and begged before he was given the job by Mr Jasper." the worker revealed.

"I thought we weren't employing anyone again due to the current circumstances of the company, even the cafeteria budget had to be cut down." the woman said.

"Well Mr Jasper pitied him and gave him the job, you know how Mr Jasper is."

"Well I just hope things get better at the company. It would be a shame if we got shut down."

"I hope so too ma'am."

Kaiden reached Jasper's office and gave him his lunch.

"Thanks." Jasper said with a smile as he took the meal.

He pointed to the chair opposite him.

"Sit down and eat." he told Kaiden.

Kaiden sat down and started eating, since he came back to life, this was the first proper meal he was eating, so he ate the entire meal with relish completely oblivious of Jasper who was looking at him open-mouthed in shock.

He finished eating and looked up to see Jasper looking at him.

"Sir?" he asked, wondering why he was looking at him.

Jasper leaned forward and cleaned food from the corner of his mouth.

"Are you satisfied? Do you want more food? You can have mine." he offered.

Only then did Kaiden realize that he was eating like a wild animal. He felt ashamed.

"It's okay, there is nothing wrong with being hungry. Here, have mine. I am already okay." Jasper said and gave Kaiden the remainder of his food.

"Thanks." Kaiden said as he took it and started to eat.

"You know, I have been thinking about your spiritual energy problem. I have a lot of books on spiritual energy at home. You can read right?" he asked Kaiden.

"Yes I can read." Kaiden replied.

"Good. I will bring the books for you tomorrow, I will also get some pills and crystals for you. Do you know how to cultivate?"

"Yes sir, I know the basics."

"That is good! The books are mostly self explanatory, if you have any problems, just tell me and I will explain it to you."

"Thanks a lot sir. Why are you helping me?" Kaiden asked in confusion. Why would Jasper help a total stranger?

"I don't know, there is just something about you that makes me want to help you."

"Thanks a lot sir."

"you are welcome and enough with the thank yous"

Kaiden looked at Jasper, he had never thought much of Jasper when they were growing up, he had just being Jonathan's little brother then after the betrayal, he had just been his enemy's brother.

Kaiden had sworn to destroy the entire Graham family but maybe Jasper wouldn't be punished as much as the rest.

The next day, Jasper fulfilled his promise and brought books, pills and crystals for cultivation of spiritual energy.

After work, Kaiden would take a pill, open the cultivation book, access the energy of the crystal and start to build his spiritual energy.

As the days passed, his energy grew stronger. Soon, he promised himself, he would be strong enough for his revenge.

Meanwhile as he worked in the company, he gathered information from the workers as he went around his errands. He had even made some friends.

Not everyone was happy with Jonathan's takeover of the company especially when he couldn't produce exceptional results like Kaiden had.

The new plant he built was faulty and only produced substandard weapons and tools. Their big clients were threatening to leave the company, staff salaries and budgets had to be cut down too.

Kaiden was unhappy that the company he had built with his blood, sweat and tears was reduced to such a state but there was nothing he could do, he could only cultivate so he could be strong enough to claim his company back.
