Chapter 32 (Decision)
Yamato sits on the near chair and inspects the room for a while.
Then he looks at the chief and says.
"So you must have the basic idea of what I want."
"Yes, I have heard your announcement, but I would like you to talk about it."
"Okay, so for starters, I need the permissions to create a defense force more like my army. I want them as backup to protect the town when I'm not available."
The chief looks at Yamato and sighs.
"I know that. What I am asking for is the real reason why you want it."
"What do you mean, sir?"
"Before Chief, I have been an inspector and detective,, so I can read faces of anyone."
"That's impressive. You got that right, there is a reason behind why I want to do it."
"And that is?"
"I'll tell you if you promise to keep it a secret."
"Yeah, I promise."
"Okay then, have you ever wondered that from where all these monsters come from?"
"I have thought about it and my guess is the nest, what you call the dungeon."
"Correct, I have cleared one of the dungeons as you know.."
"Wait, there are more dungeons?"
"Yeah, the one I cleared didn't have many attackers, and the only valuable thing I got was the demon I retrieved."
"Oh, speaking of her, where is she now?"
"She's in a disguise, keeping an eye on me with her senses. She can literally see me even if she isn't in the room. After all, she's the general and one of the most powerful demons."
"Having her on your defense must be relieving."
"Well yeah. Anyway, back to the topic. I said there are more dungeons and in my knowledge I know about 2 other."
"So you want an army to raid the dungeon?"
"No, I want them to protect the town while I raid the dungeons."
"And why's that?"
"Because one of the dungeons contains a gate to their world."
"I knew something was weird."
"What do you mean?"
"If it was about patrolling the city, you could have done it on your own with your superhuman speed and everything."
"Yes, precisely."
"So what is in the gate?"
"I don't know. There can be a massive army waiting, or maybe it will kill me or can summon me to any trap and in the worst case, I may be reborn."
"So you want this place to be protected when you are gone right?"
"Yeah."
"Then why not take an army inside the dungeon to clear the path."
"I can't do that."
"Why? The monsters seem to be weak."
"There are some high-level monsters in the dungeons, so who knows what might happen."
"Then what about you? Won't you too be in danger?"
"I have 2 allies with me all the time ."
"And they are?"
"I can't tell that yet."
"Alright. So, how are you going to train them?"
"I'll provide blueprints to the weapons and everything, and will train them myself. So don't worry about that."
"Okay, I'll talk about it with my advisors, but I won't reveal your secrets, I can guarantee that."
"Thanks, and if you do, your life might be in danger."
"I know.."
Yamato gets up from the chair and leaves the building immediately.
"Hey kid, I think you are forgetting someone in your alliance." The sage says.
"Uh...I almost forgot your existence."
The sage strikes him with a headache again.
"Will you forget again?"
"Ouch....I think I won't."
*BZZ*
*BZZ*
Yamato's phone vibrates inside his pocket.
It seems like a call is coming.
Yamato takes out the phone.
"Uh, it's Yuna."
He attends the phone on his ear and distances it immediately because of the loud voice of Yuna screaming.
"WHERE THE HECK WERE YOU FOR THE PAST 4 DAYS!?"
she screamed.
"Uh, I was home. Wasn't feeling well."
"And where are you now?"
"At home."
"You liar, I just saw you entering a building."
"Whaa.. Where are you?"
"At a café ahead of you."
"Oh...sorry for lying. I had some work here, soooooo I had to come."
"Yeah, yeah whatever you liar. Just come to the café. I'm waiting for you."
"Alright.."
He puts the phone back to his pocket and the moment he does, another calls starts to come.
"Who's it now?"
He looks at his phone and gets shocked.
"Mom!? Why's she calling me?"
He attends the call and says.
"Hey mom, what's up?"
"Hey Yamato, how are you doing?"
"I'm just fine. Anyway why'd you call me all of a sudden."
"I need your help in something, can you listen?"
"Yeah, what is it?"
"So I have to attend a business meeting in Kyoto tomorrow and I don't have a good negotiator in my company. So, can you please be my assistant for tomorrow's meeting?"
"TOMORROW!?"
"Yes. So, will you or will you not?
"It's not like I have a choice. Just come and pick me up at 9 AM tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay, will do. Thanks for tagging along."
Yamato then goes straight to the café and sees Yuna inside waiting for him.
"I'm going to get so much scolded today."
"You surely will." Akari says
He goes in and sits In front of Yuna..
"Hey Yuna...."
"DON'T HEY ME! WHERE WERE YOU?"
"I was sick."
"Don't lie to me."
"I was sick for 2 days and had to do some work for the other 2 days."
"Liar."
"I'm not."
Suddenly tears starts to fell from her eyes.
"She's crying?" Yamato says to Akari
"Yes she is you pig. I had more expectation from you." Akari says
"You are not a well gentleman to make a girl cry." The sage also said.
"You two...."
*STRIKE*
Yamato suddenly got a memory fragment which showed the same thing happened.
He saw a girl crying In front of her for a second.
*SEALED MEMORY FLOW DETECTED. RESEALING THEM AGAIN. PROCESS STARTING.*
The warning came into the mind of the sage and Yamato, and both of them felt instant pain.
"AH WHAT IS THIS?" Yamato asks.
"I don't know...my head, it's hurting like hell." The sage replies.
Yuna looks at Yamato holding his head.
"Hey Yamato, what happened?" She asks.
"I'm fine.. it's just a headache."
As Yamato removed his hard from his face, Yuna could see blood coming out of his mouth.
"Yamato...blood.."
"Blood? Where?"
"It's coming from your mouth." Yuna says anxiously.
"Oh.."
Yamato cleans his mouth and says
"Don't worry, it's normal."
"No it isn't! Tell me what's happening." She says.
Yamato stands up and looks away and says.
"Sorry I can't..right now."
Yuna grabs his hand and says..
"You make me worry so much, please explain me all this later okay?"
"Yeah, I'll do when the time comes." He says and walks out of the café
