CHAPTER 22

JENNY’S POV

I am unable to tell Shranaia the truth about what occurred and am unsure of how to do so either. I just sighed, then glanced around. I gasped at the abrupt approach and saw Ron heading toward me with both hands in his pocket while I was staring at the birds.

He sat down next to me and said, “Just act like I don’t know what actually happened. I know you are not secured when you were alone, and no matter what you do to me, you can’t hide it,” I scowled at him.

“Are you stalking me?” I asked, then he smiled at me and brought his face closer.

“What do you think?” he said teasingly, then I elbowed him.

“You’re good at teasing, you know?” I said, annoyed, then he moved.

“You’re good at abusing,” he said.

“How did you know?” I asked without looking at him.

I looked at him as he continued, “I saw you when you entered your school. I saw Joel following you, but I couldn’t get close because I knew you would see that I was following you, and you might even get very angry with me. But from what I saw of him then, he didn’t really intend to hurt you because he was hoping that Shranaia would come out.”

How powerful are wolves? The fragrance of what a nearby creature is they can sense? I wiped my face before saluting. Should I tell you what Deacon said, or should I simply keep it to myself if of what he told me? Throughout all honesty, thinking about it is driving me insane, and I'm frustrated that I can't even think of a way to tell her everything.

I got up, went into the mansion, and stopped because I sensed Ron was following me. When I turned around, I saw him. He lifted his both hands like surrendering himself, I went back inside where I found Rara eating and Ran simply staring at her. Gena was playing with my brother Eliot.

“Where are Shranaia and Vixen?” They turned to me as I questioned them.

“Vixen went back to the pack, and Shranaia is upstairs,” Ran said while continuing to watching at Rara.

“He’s been watching you eat all along,” I told Rara, and she turned to face me.

She replied, “And he’s following you all around,” then I turned to check behind me.

I simply rolled my eyes before avoiding his gaze and ascending the stairs. I rushed, opened the door swiftly, went inside, and shut it just as fast. When I accomplished that, I breathed a sigh of relief, but then when I noticed that Shranaia was upside down, I covered my mouth. Her two hands are supporting her aloft, while her head is at the bottom.

“Fck it, Jenny!” she exclaimed.

I didn’t expect him to open up to me in that way, which is why I laughed out loud when it happened. From what I noticed before, she appears like an idiot, and to be honest, I only saw her like that now. She stood up and sat on the bed, asking who I was running to, and I told her it was Ron. Now she bursts out laughing as she will never end laughing. I merely winced, then laid down on the bed, and glanced up at the ceiling.

“Sometimes I wonder what type of friend you are,” I said, irritably.

“I’m not saying that you might like Ron. But it’s like that,” she said, and then I kicked her. “Gosh, Jenny! You’re hurting me!” she exclaimed.

“You have too many knowledge,” I said, and she just lay down on the bed.

In the few days, he was gone, a lot changed in me and also in the school. But fortunately, I also managed to prevent any possible gossip for them so that they would not suspect Shranaia, Jun, and Samantha. When I closed my eyes, I didn’t realize that I had fallen asleep, that's why, when I woke up, she was no longer in the room.

I looked around, yawned, got up, and exited the room. Outside, I was shocked to see Ron, who had fallen asleep on the floor of this door. I just shook my head and sat down, looking at his face. I was surprised by his lengthy eyelashes and red lips. When I was gazing at that portion, I swallowed and was swiftly taken away because of the shaking I felt.

“What are you doing, Jenny?” I grumbled to myself.

I glanced at Ron again, then smacked him hard, waking him up, and he clutched his face. “W-what happened?” he inquired, still sleepy.

“It’s been a while since they left here without you,” I said, stopping myself from laughing.

“Huh?” is his reaction to me, with a furrowed forehead.

“Plant.”

I got to my feet, got ready to leave, and then I stood up. You wouldn’t know it was a mansion inside from the basic appearance it had when I first entered the gate. However, when I returned, I noticed something different inside, and it appeared to be a simple home inhabited by only one person. When someone abruptly grabbed me, I was ready to turn around when there was a collapse coming from somewhere.

My breathing quickened, and my heart beat faster. I don’t know what to do or how to tell him how I feel. When I looked where it came from, I just saw a big tree that was just on the side of this house, and now it has fallen down.

“H-how…”

He whispered to me, “It looks like someone followed.”

“Huh?”

What I heard made me feel as though I was deaf, and what transpired made me feel as though I had lost my trance. I don’t want someone fighting in front of me since I'm weak in this situation. When Ron shifted, I gasped and clutched him firmly as he forced me to ride on his back. Even though I sensed someone was following me, I tightly clenched my eyes and looked right away out of fear.

“It’s irritating!” he said.

“What’s going on? They just left Shranaia, and now there is this. Who are they?” I questioned as Ron continued to flee.

I’m disgusted with myself, and I don’t know how to deal with everything that’s happening. Unexpectedly, someone suddenly attacked us, causing Ron to suddenly jump with me, but he immediately changed his form and quickly hugged me so that I would not be injured or hurt. What he did made me close my eyes tightly, and I thought everything was fine.

“Are you alright?” I asked, and then he looked at me.

He was stunned for a moment, and then he smiled at me. “I’m fine; don’t worry about me,” he replied to me, and I worriedly looked at his wound.

“What’s going on?” I asked, crying, then he stood up.

“Don’t be afraid,” he said, then I looked at the man standing in front of us.

“What are you doing here?” he asked the man in front of us.

“I know she’s back. Where is she now?” he asked Ron, and then I glanced at him.

“If you knew she was coming back, why didn’t you go there first, Faustino?” Ron answered.

“So, she’s back?” he said with a grin.

“Who is he talking about?” I asked Ron while my hand was shaking.

He didn’t answer me and quickly attacked the man, causing me to hide to one side because of fear. I'm confused about what happened, and I’m confused about who the two of them are referring to. But if the one they say is coming back is probably Shranaia, while looking at the two of them, I don’t know if I should leave Ron, help him, or just choose to stay hidden here on one side. Ron sputtered, and my eyes widened at that. When I looked at him, I asked him if he was alright.

“What’s going on?” I asked, crying, then I helped him stand up.

“Get out of here,” he said to me, and he forced me to leave.

“How about you?” I asked with concern.

“You don’t have to worry about me; I’m fine,” he said, and then I swallowed.

Even if he’s annoying, I can’t help but worry about him, and I know that even if he’s annoying, I won’t let him be left alone. I don’t know what to do, and I don’t know how to help him. I’m not a wolf like him, so all I can do is stand here and watch them fight. The man glanced at us, then grinned and gave me a ghost bump.

“What’s a mortal doing here?” he asked.

“Can’t I go around the forest?” I answered, then his smile disappeared.

“I’m not asking you,” he said angrily.

“I don’t fcking care, you bastard hypocrite!” I yelled at him angrily.

“Jenny! Shut the fuck up!” Ron said angrily to me. “Get out!” he disobeyed and commanded me.

“Fuck it! I’m worried about you because I’m concerned, and then you’re going to scold me? We were just walking in silence a while ago, and then that fck got stuck!” I said, annoyed while pointing at the man.

Ron looked at me evilly, and it was his look that gave me a strange feeling of fear and trepidation in my chest. I know he’s not like that, but in this situation, I just listened to him as if he were saying that he was the one I needed to follow, and what I had to do was follow what he said.

I did as he said, then I ran, and I didn’t look back because I knew that man might follow me. While looking at the road, I was very nervous in my chest, and I was crying while running. Even though many things are bothering me, I don’t know how to sink everything into my brain. While running, I tripped due to a blocked large vein.

“It’s annoying,” I cried to myself.

I stood up quickly, then I looked at the road again. When I got out of the forest, I stopped when I saw another man in front of me, and he looked like Ron’s enemy. I got back, then I was thrown to my feet again, and I closed my eyes tightly because of my wound. He came to me, then he held my arm, and he looked at my arm.

“Are you alright?” he asked, then supported me.

When I looked at him, I saw his handsome and gentle face. I lost my mind worrying that Ron’s enemy might follow me. He placed his hand on my foot, and I saw the light of his hand, which was comforting. When he removed his hand, I smiled as the wound and pain on my foot disappeared.

“T-thank you,” I said, then I smiled at him.

He helped me stand up and smiled at me. “Next time, look your way so you don’t get into an accident,” he warned, then I nodded.

I turned my back on him, then I saw a car, and I got into it to go home. When I got on board, I looked at the man, but when I looked at him, he was gone, and I just held my breath because of that. He looks like a good person and won’t do anything bad. When I finally left, I breathed a sigh of relief.

I grabbed my head, and then I closed my eyes tightly. I don’t know what to do, and I don’t know how to tell Shranaia about what happened. When I got home, I went straight to my room, and I didn't care if my brother came home or not.

Because of what happened, I went to sleep, and when I woke up, I smelled a flower. I spotted some food and a flower on the side table when I opened my eyes. There was a note left as well, so I didn’t think twice about reading it. When I realized who it was from, I couldn’t help but smile. However, the smile that had been on my face vanished as soon as I thought back to his ominous look earlier.

“Did he survive what happened earlier? What happened to him now? Is he ok?” I asked, then I looked at the door.

I went out, then I went down. I searched to see if he was around the house and found his presence. But I couldn’t feel anything around the house. I stopped looking when I saw my brother Eliot, who had just arrived, and I approached him to see if he saw anything strange in the whole house.

“There’s nothing in the house apart from you and the maids, Jenny,” he said, then I held my breath.

“Did you just go home?” I ask.

“Yes, I just came from the office because a lot of bad things happened,” he said, and then he sat on the sofa.

“What happened?”

“There was just a misunderstanding, but it was fixed right away,” he replied. “You’d been home earlier?” he asked me.

“Yes, Ron couldn’t drop me off because something bad happened earlier,” I answered, and I went to the kitchen to drink water.

“I heard Shranaia talking to someone earlier. I don’t know who it is, but it seems like he’s been mad at this for a long time.”

I looked at brother Eliot, then my brow furrowed. “What did Shranaia say?”

“She said she would take revenge,” he answers, then I threw out the water I was drinking.
