Stupid human

Walking up the first thing that Jeras saw was the white ceiling. The smell of medicine was very strong so he figured he was still in the hospital. He was so dizzy and tired.

He sat up on the bed careful not to strain his hand with the drip. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves. The feeling of panic in his heart was making him restless. He regretted not giving up his job earlier because now it was affecting his mental health.

He was hallucinating and hearing animals talk when they should be making animal sounds. He was stuck in a bad dream that he couldn't seem to get away from no matter how hard he tried. Every time he woke up, he would have the same nightmare over and over again.

"Why wouldn't this dream end. I want to wake up," he said frustrated at his life.

"Why do you assume that this is a dream. You are wide awake my friend," he heard Mono's voice say right beside him.

He couldn't believe that he was hearing the ant again. 'How does the ant even find me?' he wondered.

"Easy, we are linked so I go wherever you d

go," Mono stated.

"Okay, then how do I get rid of you?" he questioned.

His life was already bad as it is, he didn't the ant making things more complicated for him. He just had to find a way to get rid of it before it ruined and messed up his life.

"To be honest, you don't have a life for me to ruin so I wouldn't worry about it," Mono said. Jeras couldn't refute it as it was true, he had no life. He removed the drip from his hand carefully before getting off the bed. He needed to get out of the hospital as soon as possible without alerting anyone.

He had no money to pay the bill of the hospital and he sure as hell wasn't going to sit around and wait for the doctors to return. He opened the door slowly and took a peek when he didn't see any staff. He walked out of the room.

He walked down the hall trying to find the exit. "Turn left," he heard Mono's little voice whisper in his ear. He wasn't sure why he felt the need to listen to the talking ant but he did.

One by one he followed the ant's instruction and soon found himself out of the hospital with no troubles at all. He felt very thankful to the ant but didn't say anything. Not that he needed to, he was sure the ant could read his mind, and better yet it was smart and helpful to him and that might come in handy later on.

He took the bus home from the hospital with how tired he was, he slept the entire way home and only woke up when Mono told him that they had arrived. He walked into his apartment building and treated the doorman before taking the elevator to his floor.

He walked out of the elevator when it got to jus floor and made his way into his apartment. He took his keys from the pocket and let himself in.

"Would you like some lunch?" Mono asked him.

He walked straight to his room and dropped on the bed to rest. He was tired from the medicine that made him feel weak. He could feel his body's reaction to the drip that he was given at the hospital. His whole body begged for him to take some rest.

"I will make some for you," Mono added not getting an answer from him.

Jeras listened to the sound of utensils moving in the kitchen realization dawning on him that Mono was the one who did all of his chores in the morning.

He closed his eyes and dozed off thinking of how crazy it was that he had an ant who could talk and cook.

Jeras woke up from his nap feeling refreshed and energized. He was no longer tired and his body finally got the good rest that he deserved. The sun had already gone down and his room was very dark.

He reached out to his nightstand and turned the lights to the room on. His stomach grumbled screaming at him to feed it, he strolled out of the room into his living room and went straight to the kitchen to find food.

He found his dish on the counter waiting for him, it was cold probably from being prepared earlier in the day. But he didn't mind. He was hungry. He ate his food greedily. He hadn't had the chance to eat a proper meal in a long time and he appreciated getting a chance to eat such amazing food.

Just then he had his phone vibrate, it was in his pocket. He took it out and read the message that was on the screen. The spoon in his hand fell to the ground and he froze.

'I missed work today,' he screamed internally feeling a headache coming on.

The message on his phone was from his boss asking him not to come to work ever again. He had just been fired over a text by his boss.

He unlocked his phone screen to see numerous missed calls from his boss and text messages from him. His colleagues had also tried to get a hold of him.

"Oh my God," he said in shock at what just happened. His only source of income was gone in just a blink of an eye. It felt like his life couldn't get any worse.

He grabbed a glass of water and had it, he had lost his appetite to continue eating. He set the plate in the sink and exited the kitchen. He felt like dropping dead and moving on to the next life. It might be better than the hell he was living at the moment.

Just as he reached the living room he paused when he noticed something on the sofa. Upon closer inspection, he found that it was a dog and not just any dog but the one from the hospital. His heart stopped beating for a minute before it started racing in his heart.

"What in the world is this dog doing here?" he asked worried and confused.

"It appeared at the door while you slept. It kept asking for you and insisted I let it in. It is your dog now and as it has already marked his territory in the house. I doubt that he is ever going to leave," Mono answered.

As weird as what he said sounded, it freaked him out more how Mono always seems to answer all his questions when he asks them. He can't even see it but it felt like it was always there with him.

"Why?"

"You must have tamed it to be your pet," Mono replied casually like the things he was saying we're supposed to make sense to him. And it was something normal to tame an animal and have it trace your home and live with you.

"Get it out of my house," he said his frustration building up. He had just lost his job, he didn't have the energy to deal with animals.

"Can't, you tamed him. He is your responsibility."

"But I don't want a dog," he whined like a child.

"Not my problem. If you don't want an animal then don't tame it," Mono stated sternly.

"But I didn't tame it. All I did was speak and he responded to me," Jeras explained hoping the stupid ant would rid him of the dog.

"You formed a bond with him and made a contract with him, so that makes him your dog. Secondly, never call me stupid if you care about your life," he threatened.

"Why? You are just a stupid ant. Aren't you?" Jeras asked irritated.

Before he knew it something was lifting him off the ground. He felt a shiver ran down his sound right before he was thrown into the wall. He hit the wall with a thud sound and groaned in pain.

"I warned you, stupid human. I might be tiny but I am very dangerous so watch how you speak to me," Mono whispered in his ear, his voice ice cold. Jeras shivered in fear with his body aching all over.
