chapter 1: preparation for school

note: am not an experienced writer but I would like to share my ideas with the world and am young too so please in case of any mistakes, pardon me.

"wake up" the sound of Zuri's voice woke Zane up from his beauty sleep.his sister was such a pest Zane thought within himself.

"what"He said using his pillow to cover his face from the ray of the sun

"we late for school air head" his twin sister said to him in a hostile manner."I would have left you to sleep yourself away but Mom wouldn't let me,so get your butt out of bed and get ready quickly" zuri said as she walked out of the room looking frustrated.

Dragging himself out of bed,Zane wondered why she even bothered waking him up,it was like the same dumb game every since day. It's not like he likes school, if he had his way he would definitely stay the whole day at home,well that wasn't an option at least not in this house of his, it was either he went to school or stayed outside the whole day so obviously the latter wasn't an option.

He believed school was a place for kids who believe they could be something they never will, he was an average student and average grades, average was enough for,it was all he needed. All he wanted was to live this boring town where nothing ever happened and go to new York to play his music,but of course it wasn't an option, nothing in this town was an option.

Zuri was impatient, how could she have such a lazy twin? even if Zane and zuri were twins,they had nothing in common,the only thing they had in common was their blonde hair and blue eyes apart from that nothing at all. "is he ready?" their mother Kate asked "you act like you don't know that lazy son of yours" she replied not wanting to talk about the idiot anymore, lost in her anger and thoughts on how to kill Zane if they were late she failed to realize the door bell ring,twice. "aren't you going to get it ?" her mother asked

"get what?"

"Get out of your head Zuri and go get the door" Kate replied,the ringing was getting unbearable.

with a loud sigh zuri stood up and opened the door only to find the other unbearable idiot, Ronnie- he was Zane's best friend and it seems it true what they say 'birds of the same feathers fly together ' because Ronnie was definitely an idiot like Zane she thought.

"is he ready yet?" Ronnie asked,he had dark brown hair and brown eyes,he was tall,taller that her with at least three foots and two inches taller than Zane, although she was the oldest twin,she was definitely the one with the smallest stature " why don't you go check it out" zuri said leaving the door for Ronnie to step in. "sure why nothing" Ronnie said, turning to Kate he greeted "good morning Mrs Blake" "morning Ronnie" she replied while arranging her bag hastily as she was already late for work, she was a nurse in the town's hospital,it was the only hospital in the town of Willows.

As Zane wears his leather jacket he has a vision of people burning "what the...." he said, it wasn't much of a vision because it only appeared to him like a flash,it wasn't the first time this was happening to him,he has been having flash like visions for the past month, but he didn't tell anyone,who would he tell any ways

" Dude how late can you be and I thought I was a better slacker that you" Ronnie said as he stepped into Zane's room to find him standing like he was struck in a trance or something "you okay? " Ronnie asked out of worry. Turning to Ronnie he answered "yeah" he takes his bag which was lying on the floor "Let's go" he said and walked out of the room leaving Ronnie to stand alone in confusion on why his friend looked lost "you coming or not?" Ronnie heard Zane's voice say out to him " coming" he said locking the door and going to meet Zuri and Zane downstairs.

"I thought you had died in your room Zane" zuri said immediately she saw her brother " I thought you had buried your head in a hole sister" he retaliated with a smirk on his face. rolling her eyes Zuri stands up from the chair she was sitting on and takes her bag"let's just go" she said already tried of waiting for him " let's go boy and girl,we have such to get to" Ronnie who had just come downstairs said opening the door and walking out before them then Zane following from behind with Zuri being the last to leave the house as their mother had already left a couple of minutes ago.

He was an idiot, true but Ronnie was the one who drove them to school,Zuri had a License but didn't have a car and Zane who was a great driver always failed his driver's test, zuri knew he deliberately made himself fail because she knew her brother and he was awesome at driving she guessed that it was either he enjoyed retaking the test or he planned on being an illegal driver for the rest of his life, besides he already drove their mother's car around the neighborhood before.

The drive to school was boring for Zuri as she only sat in silence while the boys talked away their time. On getting to school, the first person who greeted them well Zane to be precise was Noelle Robinson immediately they got down from the car. Noelle was the class president and apparently she was madly in love with Zane although Zuri didn't get what she saw in her brother, he was a moron and if it hadn't been for blood that connected them she probably would have never spoken to him but Zane didn't return Noelle's feeling, he wasn't even aware that she liked him, Zuri felt sorry for the girl.

"Hi Zane" Noelle said already blushing

" Hi" Zane replied casually as they all started to Walk into the school

zuri rolled her eyes and walked ahead of them.
