The Seireitei Invasion (7)

"Captain, we have another group of Soul Reapers their heavily injured!" Isane yelled as a group of Soul Reapers who were bleeding out entered the barracks. "More? We haven't finished treating the ones from a couple of minutes ago." Looking around the barracks, all the beds were full, and they were being forced to laypeople on the ground.

They were being swamped with injured Soul Reapers and were even running out of space in the barracks. 'The situation is getting worse. If nothing changes soon, then...' Coming out of her thoughts, Retsu replied to Isane. "Put them over there Ill tend to them personally. Start moving the least injured outside." As Retsu told Retsu what to do, people rushed around the barracks, trying to keep up with the load.

Sleeping soundly in her room Soi Fon who had been unconscious this whole time, soundly had their peace disrupted as a loud explosion shook the entire room. Following the explosion, Soi Fon's eye twitched as she played there. "Ugh..." A groan escaped her lips as a dull pain echoed through her entire body.

Due to everyone being called to battle, no one was there to look after Soi Fon. As her eyes slowly opened, Soi Fon slowly began to sit up using her arm as her support. Her blanket fell to her lap as she looked around. The place was empty. However, something didn't feel right. 'What happened?' Moving her right arm to lift the blankets off of her that dull pain suddenly became sharp.

"Agh!" Grimacing in pain, Soi Fon felt a burning sensation as she looked down at her right arm. Her entire arm had been decimated during her fight with Shen and couldn't be saved. The place her right arm once was empty as a bandage covered up the area her arm would be attached to her shoulder. Sitting there in the bed, Soi fon stared at the spot her arm would be. The loss of her arm caused Soi Fon's grip on her blankets tightened as her eyes shifted to her Zanpakuto next to the bed.

Burying her emotions, Soi Fon gathered herself. "Is anyone here?" Calling out Soi Fon didn't receive a response after putting on her captain outfit that was placed not far from where she was sleeping Soi Fon walked outside onto the porch of the building before jumping onto the roof. "Why is no one here?" Looking over the Seireitei in front of her, everything seemed peaceful and extremely quiet.

This caused an even more confused look to appear on her face as she turned around. "Where the hell is everyone? Leaving their post unma-" Soi Fon's next words got caught in her throat as she froze in place. The scene in front of her was like she had never seen before. Looking at the Seireitei smoke was rising from random places as entire pillars that once stood tall were now broken in half.

As her gaze continued to sweep over everything in the far distance, she spotted two massive orbs with long tentacles stretching across the Seireitei wreaking havoc as if chasing something. "How could things get this bad... How long was I asleep." Sensing other captains spiritual pressure, Soi Fon relaxed slightly as quickly searched for the Head Captains.

'I have to see the Head Captain. I need to figure out what's happening.' Agreeing with her thoughts, Soi Fon jumped into the air and began heading in the direction of the Head Captain, who was within the temporary Headquarters. Dashing over across the Seireitei, Soi Fon spotted someone fighting up ahead.

"What are those things." Narrowing her eyes, Soi Fon took out her Zanpakuto as she saw one of those strange creatures come up from behind the Soul Reaper, who was fighting off a horde of them. "There's no end to these things!" Rangiku said as another creature charged at her. Dodging it strike, she sliced down on the back of its neck, severing its head from its body.

Unkown to Rangiku as she fought off the creatures in front of her, one of them had snuck up on her flank. Just as the creature jumped in the air, finally gaining Rangiku's attention, it seemed to freeze as it fell to the ground as fell the ground after being cut in half. However, not only was the creature behind Rangiku killed but also the ones that surrounded her.

Appearing in front of Rangiku while sheathing her Zanpakuto Rangiku's eyes lit up. "Captain Soi Fon? What are you doing here?" Due to Soi Fon being in deep recovery, there was one less captain to fight off Shen's assault as well as the fact without Soi Fon there was no command in chief to give orders stealth force.

Looking at the creatures, she just killed Soi Fon turned her attention to Rangiku. "What's going on here? How did this happen?" Hearing Soi Fon's question Rangiku thought to herself for a moment before realizing something. "Don't tell me no one was there to fill you in?" Looking at Soi Fon is with a surprised face Rangiku put her Zanpakuto back into its Sheath.

"What do you mean, fill me in? What exactly happened while I was asleep." Replying to Soi Fon after a pause, Rangiku began filling Soi Fon in. "Well, you were found unconscious after..." Summing everything up, Rangiku shortened everything down as much as she could. "And that the situation now. I'm surprised you're up so quick Captain Unohana said you would need at least a couple of weeks to recover."

Listening to Rangiku Soi Fon found it hard to take it all in. 'To believe that guy could cause this much damage so quickly. All the more reason I need to report to the Head Captain. I have to tell him what I learned before I was knocked unconscious.' Over Soi Fon's dash over here, she had some time to remember back to what happened before she was knocked out, and some things began to stick out to her.

"I need to report to the Head Captain immediately. I recommend you regroup with your captain as well." Turning away from Rangiku, Soi Fon dashed off again, moving even faster than before. 'I knew something was strange about how we found Renji.' While Soi Fon made her way to the Head Captain, her spiritual pressure was detected by the other captains the moment she helped Rangiku.

"Well, look who finally decided to wake up." Looking into the distance, Shunsui smiled as he spun his Zanpakuto in two different directions creating a whirlwind that countered orb of Ki's attack. "Hopefully, everything will get a little easier now. Things don't look so good right now." Staring over the battlefield with scattered with Soul Reaper corpses and creatures alike.
