A New Universe

[Host has one hour remaining until System update is complete.] Shen looked up when he heard the System's voice. "It's been two years already?" While living in the Null Shen had barely taken advantage of space's ability. Even now if he thought back he used almost to purely binge-watch anime.

Standing up in a large empty Null space Shen was surrounded by things he kept to entertain himself. "After spending so much time here it's a shame to see it go." Clapping his hands together the large mattress he was lying on disappeared along with everything else in the dimension.

'Guess it's time to see how things have gone while I was away.' Waiting in the Null for the remaining hour Shen received a bunch of Systems prompts.

[System update complete.]

[Universe Analyzer Function has been added.]

[Next Universe has been selected.]

[The host is now allowed to leave the Null dimension. Once out the host will have the ability to travel to the next Universe selected.]

Glancing over all the prompts Shen couldn't help but wonder what Universe would be next. He got lucky with the bleach one since everyone here wasn't too weak nor too strong but he didn't know what would come next. 'I suppose it's going to be up to luck then.' Just like when he left the Bleach Universe a doorway opened up in front of Shen seeming completely two dimensional.

Keeping himself on guard slightly Shen took a couple of steps forward and exited the Null dimension. In a small flash of light the moment he exited the Null he felt all of his abilities return to him at once. 'Oh, but I have missed this.' Having all his powers back Shen glanced around and to his surprise, he was in a large hall.

[System Task Updated. Task Completed: 4/4]

[Host has completed a task would you like to redeem your reward?]

Still standing in the hall Shen didn't get a chance to observe his surroundings as two new prompts appeared. 'Huh?' Being confused as first Shen's eyes suddenly changed from confusion to surprise. "Oh right! I almost forgot about this." After not getting an update from the System about this for so long Shen had pushed it to the back of his mind.

When he thought back of all the work he put in trying to get that 3/4 to reach a 4/4 Shen couldn't help but sigh to himself. 'Well, at least all my hard work from back then wasn't for nothing. I mean I had to fight a giant baboon and an entire world full of cherry blossoms to get it to this point.' Reminiscing for a moment Shen quickly decided to accept the reward.

'I wonder what it will be.' Waiting for the System to respond to him accepting the reward he soon got another prompt.

[Reward has been granted to the host. The host is allowed to add 'Video Games' to any of the [Shop] categories.] Shen blinked as he re-read the prompt. After a moment his eyes widened in surprise. "Seriously? Does this mean what I think it means?" During his entire time using the System he had been limited by one thing.

Everything was limited to anime no matter what it was. If he wanted something he would have to remember an anime that had it and that would be it. However, now the System was letting him add the video games to any of the categories as a filter. 'So if I added it to the weapons category and looked for the Crowbar in half-life I would be able to buy it?'

It opened up a lot of possibilities however it was also really risky. He had to make his choice relationally and not in the heat of being a fanboy to a certain game. Knowing this Shen held himself back as he began to think to himself. However, after thinking for over five minutes he still couldn't come to a decision.

"This decision carries too much weight. Hey, can I put my decision off till later?" Asking the System if he can decide later Shen was relieved when he got an answer. [The host may choose at a later date.] "Ok that's good after all I still need to figure out where I am." Moving his attention from the System back to reality he observed his surroundings.

The hall had a similar design to the fortress. There were also two sets of double doors on each end of the hall. "Wasn't I standing in on a hill last time I was here..." Walking down the hall his steps echoed through the empty corridor as he made his way to the large set of doors in front of him. Pushing them open easily Shen was greeted with a dazzling sight.

Starting from just outside of the door a large stone patio connected to the ground below through a long staircase showed what seemed to be a megastructure. 'What the hell...' Looking back Shen realized he had just exited a massive tower stretching what seemed to be thousands of feet into the air.

Surrounded by a large wall there were four towers just like the one Shen had just exited in each corner of the area. Still being in disbelief Shen was woken out of his shock when he heard a familiar voice. "Oh, you've finally returned Master Shen!" Turning his head, Shen saw a familiar woman accompanied by two men in uniform similar to the ones he gave Rukia and Urahara in color.

Ignoring her change in speech and tone Shen immediately recognized the girl as Orihime. Looking at her and then back to the scene in front of him Shen had so many questions. "What happened while I was away." Seeing Shen was confused Orihime respectfully explained. "Well after you left both Rukia and Urahara did exactly as you said, however..."

Shen's narrowed as Orihime's words trailed off. "What happened?" Sighing Orihime continued to explain. "Well the army you gave them was effective extremely effective. With Rukia leading them it only took two months to make the leading nations around the world surrender." Hearing that Shen began to realize something as Orihime spoke again.

"And of course with it only taking two months out of the two years you were gone Urahara had a lot of extra time on his hands. Originally it was supposed to be a base for you however it ended up becoming a lot bigger than expected." Listening to the entire explanation Shen understood. 'So I was gone for so long that Urahara started making stuff out of pure boredom.'

Shaking his head Shen noticed the two people standing next to Orihime were actually Soul Reapers. "Oh well while you were away we ran into an issue. Because no one could see Rukia or Urahara I ended up taking the place of representative. Of course, being the representative came with its own risk including a lot of assassination attempts."

Shen couldn't believe how much things had expanded. A simple order to take over the world and it became this. It was then that Orihime remembered something. "Well, Master Shen, since you're here I'm sure you would need to talk to Urahara and Rukia. I can take you to them right away."

Staring at Orihime for a moment Shen couldn't believe how much everything had changed in two years. I mean he planned to make Orihime compliant so she could continue to heal his eyes without any thought of suicide or something stupid like that. But now she seemed loyal without mind control. 'Whatever, If it all works out in the end I won't question it.'

Following Orihime they made their way back into the large tower Shen had just left. After ten minutes of walking, they finally reached their destination at the top of the tall tower. As two double doors opened on their own Shen saw a large throne room lacking any type of hesitation when it came to glamour. Entering, Shen spotted both Urahara and Rukia already waiting. "Well, it looks like you two have done a better job than I thought you would." Seeing Shen the two of them immediately welcomed him back.

Making his way down the hall Shen sat on top of the throne Shen spoke. "I can't believe you did all this in two years." Taking it as a compliment, Urahara smiled before speaking. "Yes though there were a few countries that wouldn't fall in line Rukia dealt with them. Up to this point, everything has been going exactly as you thought. Ichigo, Unohana, Mayuri, and a few others have been trying to put up a resistance with the Soul Reapers they gathered however everything else is under your control."

Nodding his head Shen began getting caught up on the major and minor details of things that have happened while he was away. Excluding the original protagonist of Bleach, there have been a surprising number of interesting people showing up. People who had no idea about Soul Reapers and what not began discovering powers they never noticed before.

"Good like I said I want them to continue to get stronger so make sure the ones with talent don't die. As for the other ones you can crush them for all I care." Getting his take on things Urahara nodded. "So would you like us to announce that you have returned?" Currently despite knowing Shen's name and face no one actually knew where or who he was. He was the most powerful and hated person on earth but barely anyone had actually met him before.

"Oh, they'll meet me but not the real me." Shen forming a sign with his hands Shen created a clone of himself. This clone had 25% of Shen's chakra and is also technically 25% of his stats as well. "A clone?" Remembering the clones from before even Orihime seemed confused. "Staying here to fight every single person who thinks they can challenge me would be a waste of time. But if I leave a clone here a ¼ as strong as I am and it gets defeated then I will know there is someone here who is worth killing."

Understanding what Shen was trying to say, Urahara asked a question. "But if you're leaving a clone here does that mean you're leaving again?" Shen nodded as he stood up. "Yes, as fun as this place has been to me there is always someplace new. Though I don't know how long it will take for me to conquer it I'll summon one of you if I need you.." Listening to Shen everyone there nodded understanding.

Switching his attention off of them Shen opened his System and navigated his way to one of the new functions. 'Let's see how this thing works.' Selecting the new function Shen was met with a new menu he had never seen before.

Seeing that the name of the Universe isn't displayed Shen felt the System was messing with him again. 'Not even going to let me prepare myself?' Feeling the excitement of finally going to someplace new Shen hopped off the throne and walked to a more empty space in the tower. Selecting the blank universe Shen saw a vortex open up in front of him slowly getting bigger and bigger.

Unlike the portals opened to other dimensions or even the doorway to the Null Shen could feel this was different. On the other side of this vortex, the Bleach Universe would be cut off. A place without Soul Reapers, Reitsu, or even the Soul King himself. 'I wonder if I should do something a little more original in this one.' Thinking to himself Shen shrugged.

'Well, I'll think about that after I go in.' Looking at Shen from the sides everyone watched as he stepped into the vortex. Shen's being was twisted before being absorbed and finally, he disappeared. Shortly afterward the vortex closed before disappearing. "And he just came back…"

Meanwhile, in a completely different universe, a vortex opened in the sky. Popping out of that vortex Shen proceeded to plummet straight to the ground. Falling through a tree line through countless branches his body made contact with the dirt below causing the earth to shake. It was as he lied in the crater that he received a System prompt.

"Why would you put it in the middle of the air..." Climbing out of the crater he landed in while dusting himself off. 'I swear this System hates me sometimes.' Navigating the System and using one of the new features added Shen got a list of information about the new Universe he was in.

"Well, I didn't expect it to be this one."
