Chapter 3: Minecraft

Opening my eyes, I had an extremely weird experience. Why is it weird? Because I am in 2 places at one time.

At one, I am in front of my old gaming set-up, with my mouse, keyboard and dual monitor in front of me, with all the extra plug-ins, and at the other, I can see the first person perspective from my minecraft avatar.

I then saw a book on my hot-bar, and opened it. It looked the same as the one I saw before.

The book didn't have a title to it, and looked like a normal minecraft book.

When I opened the book, the words on it were;

[This is the guide to the player]

[The player can use this guide for a lot things]

[If you have any questions, ask the 'guide,' and it will answer, based on if you met the requirements, and a price]

I then opened the next page and saw a skills section, and under it was written.

[Gamer Mind- This skill will allow you to treat the game Minecraft, just like you have on Earth. It cannot be used in your real world]

[Gamers spirit- This skill allows you to control your game character in the way you are most comfortable, and live in it in a first person perspective.]

'Wait... Gamer's mind is really helpful but obviously it cannot help in the real world, but Gamer's Spirit can be used in the real world... this will be helpful for sure.'

"Guide, why am I in the minecraft world? How did I get here? What has happened to me?"

[Calculating the amount required to answer this question]

[The player has just begun the game, and therefore can be classified as an 'Early Game' player.]

[The player has to reach at least 'Late Game' to see the cost to answer the question asked]

I sighed, I obviously knew it would not be so easy to know the answers I need.

"What are the requirements to reach 'Mid Game'?" I asked for book.

[To reach Mid Game, the player has to craft 6 beacons. 2 More conditions to reach 'Mid Game' will be shown after this condition]

'Wow, 6 beacons...I have only played minecraft for 2 months on earth, and barely crafted this. While obviously it will not take me as long this time, I still don't know a lot of things about the game'

(A/N: I just want to clarify, the MC has played Minecraft for 2 months, not on the same world, he played on servers in general. He never had his own survival solo world. The reason will be explained later on. Thus, his knowledge about a lot of farms is non-existent, which will be cleared later on.)

[Player, to log out of the world, the minimum condition that has to be met is: Craft full iron armor, and all basic iron tools]

"Full iron, that should not take me long...if I rush for only iron, at most it will take me a day... Guide, is staying a day in this world, the same as a day in the outside world?"

[Calculating... it will cost 64 iron ingots to answer this question.]

"64...that won't take too long. Anyway, I should move away from spawn...wait, what is that?!" I thought as I saw a (3) bracket beside my heart. As I pressed it, an explanation popped up.

[3= 3 lives. The player can die 3 times before he cannot re-spawn anymore. 3 more lives will be given every 100 days in minecraft.]

"This is good, but I should be careful. I should constantly sleep to avoid letting mobs spawn near me, and avoid them till I guarantee safety."

"The best way to get stuff safely...is a strip mine! But I should slow down. First, I have to look around carefully, if there is a village nearby, it will help a lot if I can scam some slaves. COUGH, I mean to have some traders help me."

I am in a Taiga Biome, with a lot of spruce trees near me. This is honestly the 2nd best spawn in my opinion. I would prefer a savanna, as a desert is usually nearby, but this is good too. Better than oak or Birch.

I decided to do what anyone who starts up a new world has to do, punch some wood. The weird thing is, I can feel the wood on my hand, but I cannot get hurt from it. Maybe I will actually feel pain when I take damage and lose hearts, but for now I don't want to go through that.

I chopped down 1 tree, which got me 8 spruce logs. I made 3 of them into planks which got me 12 planks, and made a crafting table.

I then made sticks, and made a wooden pickaxe.

I then decided to move around. This will allow me to find some exposed stone, and find a village or at least a river.

While moving, I didn't forget to find some bushes and get some seeds from them.

Even though I lost 1 hunger, I was eventually able to find a mountain with unexposed stone, and I mined the stone down. I decided to get 16 cobblestones, 3 for a pickaxe, 3 for an axe, 2 for a hoe and 8 for a furnace.

As I mined cobblestone, I got a notification on the top right corner of my screen which I didn't realise before.

'I need to be more aware of the entire screen and not just what I am doing,' I thought.

As I pressed on the notification, I saw the achievements I had gotten so far.
