Chapter Seven : A New Love Story

As she stood up turning to face the window, she found Sinian laying his back on the wall closing his eyes.

"What are you doing here?" She wondered freezing in her place as he smiled lightly opening his eyes.

"Good morning, miss Jaelin," Started the demon night.

"Is it a tradition to get in a room through windows in your family?" Sarcastically asked sitting down again while he got mad remembering what his brother had done to her.

"Are you feeling better?" Asked her and sat down beside her.

"Yes. I wish I woke up right before this punishment ends, so I'd not be tortured more by remembering the fact I'm powerless," sighed Jaelin while playing with the spoon.

"I guess I came here for nothing then," Spoke Sinian was about to stand up.

"Wait. What do you mean?"

"I'm here to keep you company. Moreover, wanted to teach you other things rather than using superpowers. I guess you're not interested," As he got up, she held his arm standing to stop him.

"Wait wait! I thought I'm punished and nobody could come to me in this district of the palace!" She claimed in excitement still holding his arm.

"The light clan isn't allowed, true. I'm a demon, little girl," Smirked Sinian starting at her then at her hand holding him.

"I'm not a little girl," Spoke when taking off her hand from his arm. " So, what should we do first?" She asked as they sat down again.

"First, you need to eat breakfast," He smiled staring at her while she felt comfortable around him.

Jaelin didn't think of anything beside how she'd pass those days all alone. However, wondering why would the devil's brother come around to teach her and keep her company. She, then, stared at him finding him all drown in his thoughts too. He was enjoying how they both were starting a good conversation with no doubts or struggles. Wanted to know her more and share his time with her since he felt special about her. He never imagined he would be caught up by such a young lady. Unlike his older brother, he had always been alone practicing or studying about Ziran and the elements. How they'd work and be developed in more of a practical way even though his superpowers were of the air element unlike Ixin.

"Does your brother know you're here?" The young lady asked out of a sudden cutting his thoughts.

"No. Maybe he does but why do you care?" Looked at her eyes in a cold aura, didn't like the mentioning of him.

"Wouldn't he be mad about you being around me?" Calmly glanced Jaelin at his eyes not avoiding an eye contact with him.

"That's his problem, not mine little girl. I know you hate him for what he's done to you. He's not so heartless as you think. He just hates to see ladies of the light clan around me," Explained the young demon smiling at her.

"Why is that?" Wondered the red head girl.

"Because I'm about to be a king and I shouldn't behave falsely or pick any girl beside from those of my clan," He got up walking to the window sighing deeply.

"I thought he's the king. Then, why is he behaving like this?" Not finding it convincing but asked him curiously.

"He's my older step brother. His mother was my father's mistress while mine is the queen of the clan and Yeona is my blood sister," Sinian replied turning his head to glance at her and smiled.

"I guess he's doing that to protect you. Though he goes too far with it," Answered Jaelin joining him. "What shall we start with, now?" Continued looking at him.

"Let's get out of here first."

He grabbed her jumping out of the window, to land on the ground putting her down. She was surprised that he dared holding her without her permission. Sinian smiled lightly not showing it to her. They headed to an isolated secret garden that belonged to the Lunar Eris palace, hidden inside its huge forest. Its high walls were covered with plants and small flowery grass. It was full of trees and flowers, few fountains and small rivers. Few rocks here and there and beautiful seats full of small grass on the outer surface.

"That's beautiful! I didn't know this place existed," She looked around in mesmerize and smiled looking at him.

"I used to come here when I was a kid. It wasn't like this before but full of guardians who were practicing here," Sinian explained heading forward to let her discover more.

"Why did it become like this?" Curiously asked following him.

"It's been centuries since it was closed. Before, the high nobilities cursed it using their superpowers to forbid those rebels from getting in the palace using it or practicing dark magic," Explained the demon further while she got excited to know more.

"Is it still cursed?" Stupidly asked the fire diva.

"If it was, you wouldn't be able to get in now," Smirked as he turned to look at her.

"Who broke the curse?"

"Guess," He challenged her smirking again.

"You?!" Surprisingly murmured Jaelin walking between tall trees as she kept following him.

"Ixin broke it. It's been one hundred years and half already," Sinian confessed as she widened her eyes freezing.

"What!? How's that?" Her curiosity got her more excited to know about the matter. She had always been interested in the Ziran history which made her always looking for other events that she had not heard of.

"Yeah. You know that demons age and lives are very different than knights'. We don't grow older or die like those of your clan do. We perish instead. So, when he got over his superpowers, he wanted to try breaking it. I was just a kid back then," He filled her with excitement and joy to ask him more.

"Wait. Why isn't it mentioned that the night clan's life is different than ours? I mean I read lot of history books but they never mentioned a demon's age or that they live much longer without getting older," Claimed the girl in wonder.

"Because a demon's age is a curse too. Our bodies don't grow old but evolve, depends on the qi, energy and superpowers. If a demon stops practicing or evolving his qi he'll perish no matter how strong he is, within an amount of time. Unlike knights or those of the light clan, they have a certain age to live and easy to kill but also isn't affected by the quchu potion," He laughed as he looked at her in deep thoughts.

"So, demons perish if they drink the quchu potion?" Jaelin wondered when she stopped to sit down and drink water.

"No. But once their hexin is removed, they won't be able to survive more than a week. They perish slowly."

"So, how old are you?" Asked in a surprise starting at his face.

"In your light clan age, I'm two hundred years old," Chuckled the demon night as she widened her eyes feeling mesmerized.

"So, my age is nothing comparing to yours!"

She found it surprising that the books she had read, had never mentioned such things. In the middle of that garden, tall trees surrounding them while sitting, having such a conversation about their clans. It felt nostalgic for both because sharing such information was taking them further with their conversation. Talking endlessly about each clan's history and heroes whose their names were written in the sacred history book of Ziran.

"I don't like heroes. I prefer to do the things I see them right for me," Sinian admitted looking up at barely the sky color showing above.

"Why? I like heroes! They are full of chivalry and righteous. They would sacrifice themselves and everything they have got for the world's peace and justice," She ambitiously claimed with a dreamy face expression.

"That's exactly why I don't like them," He smiled staring at her while she wondered. "They think they can protect those they love for the sake of peace and chivalry. Instead, they sacrifice them for such titles. I, too, used to believe in what you're talking about until my brother showed me the opposite," Explained further leaving her wondering if what he had said was true or was merely a point of view.

It was the afternoon when Jaelin felt hungry and thirsty. She had forgot that she escaped the main palace and they might be looking for her by then. Rewinding what had happened to her made her sinking in negative thoughts and a sea full of despair. She remembered the encounter of that evil who was sneaking at night. Her thoughts got messy all of a sudden. Her face wouldn't miss expressing what was on her head.

"It's hard to tell that you both are brothers," Sadly smiled the fire diva looking down. "You're so different and more decent than he is," Continued and turned to look at him.

"More decent than him?" He laughed wondering how would she know that.

"You wouldn't know but all you should know is that you're much better than he is, " Smiled Jaelin not wanting to spill more tea, especially they were brothers.

"Don't worry, miss Jaelin. I'm here to help you with anything you need," Sinian confessed seriously looking in her eyes.

"I'm powerless and can't protect myself against any nobility, not even a low tier. I still can't believe I brought it to myself," Chuckled sarcastically. "But I appreciate that you're here with me," She smiled looking at him. Their eyes collided like two opposed elements of the nature wanting to unite.

"Let's go back to have midday meal and tell you about the right books to read. We didn't reach the destination I wanted to show you. So, prepare for tomorrow's plan," He stood up reaching his hands to help her getting up.

"I'm so excited to know more from you," She held his hand looking at him blushing lightly. "I've never heard about any of what you've told me from the guardians of the night clan, even though we had few practices together."

"Nobody would tell you about his own weaknesses, knight Jaelin," Affirmed Sinian smirking as they both walked back to her chamber.

I wonder if any of you would accept such a charming dude as a company for learning only. Um, that sounds hard to guess!

My demons and knights! Let me know about what you think will happen to the two lovies!
