Ashley POV:

I was standing in front of a tall man. I felt like I waited to meet him for the first time like I knew him when I was born. Then he said "Mate". I froze in my place. I didn't know what a "Mate" was. So I asked him. "What's a Mate?" I asked looking up at him. He looked at me in full surprise. "Y-you don't know what a mate is?" Ruby asked me. "No, I don't, Is it a bad thing?" I turned around to her with worry. "Is it?" I asked again. "Umm No. It isn't," Ruby said. "Ruby, show Ashley her room please, I need to go to a meeting," Kai said behind me still. I turned around and he grabbed my hand. "Miss Ashley, a pleasure to meet you, but I really have to go now" he smiled and kissed my hand. That small jester made butterflies in my stomach. "The pleasure is all mine," I said smiling. I heard someone say "Bow". I didn't think I needed to but whatever. I bowed my head. Then stood back up. "There was no need to do that, Ms.Ashley". "Well, I think that it was needed." I smiled at him. "Oh please call me Ashley no Ms," I said as I looked into his eyes. His are really something, his eyes softened, mixed with other emotions I didn't seem to make out. "Right. Ashley it is then." He said hesitantly. I hummed in response. Then he looked at Ruby. They make eye contact and make weird faces with their mouth. They must be mind-linking each other.

Kai's POV:

"Are you kidding me?" I said through mind-link. "She's human so what?" Ruby said. "That means she can be killed easier, and she looks weak!" "She looks weak?" "Yes, you think I want to put her endangered" "Of course not!! But she's your mate!!" "I know that, she looks similar". "Really? Don't you have a meeting to go to?" "Shoot I forgot, Okay you win for once, Make sure she's safe, and get her a room next to mine" "Well do!!" "Good go on" "Yes Alpha" I came out of the mind-link to see Ashley looking at us confused. "What were you guys doing?" she asked. "N-nothing, Uhm, Ruby take her to her room". She looked me in the eyes. She had beautiful eyes that lit up the whole room just by looking at them. I clear my throat and say "Okay Mi- " She glares at me. "I mean Ashley, Ruby will show you your room, please tell me if you need anything. "Sure, Thank you, for being so kind to me." She said to me with the kindest voice I have ever heard. Then she bowed. "Please don't bow and it's no trouble at all" She stood up straight and smiled at me. The only thing I wanted to do was protect that lovely smile and the lady that was showing it. I smiled back. "Please if you will excuse me" I walk away. I can feel her smiling while I walk away.

Ashley's POV:

As he, I mean Kai walks away, I started to wonder why people call him alpha, boss, and sir. But I never asked. I mean I will but later. Then I remembered I never said Thank you. I will tell him later he is busy, I thought to myself. "Come on, let me say you to your room," Ruby said, making me come back out of my deep thoughts. "Okay, show me the way," I say to Ruby. "Okay follow me!!". We walk for a while and I had so many thoughts in my head. "Ruby?" "Hmm?" "What kind of places are here, Like where do you eat and sleep and are their pretty views", "Yes we have all of those things here, but right now we are just going to your room and I can show you all of that later." I remain silent for the rest of the walk. We stop at a house, that I assume that it's a packhouse. It is beautiful and huge. It looked like a mansion. With beautiful plants and it has a lake and a forest nearby too. I saw it on the way over here. "Okay so we are here," Ruby says to me while she stops walking and looks at me. "Is this the packhouse?" I ask her. She at me shocked which I didn't understand her aura is blue which means shocked or confused I'm pretty sure. "Y-yeah it is, how did you know?" She asked me with wide eyes. "I don't know I just knew," I told her, that was a half-lie, I not going to say why yet. Humans don't have wolves but I do. That may be a blessing or a curse, from the moon goddess. Yes, I know who/what the Moon Goddess is. "Okay, follow me" She starts walking towards the big gates in front of our way. There were a few guards that were shocked probably because Ruby was leading a human into their territory. She nodded her head and the gates opened. We talk straight though. We walk into the big doors that are leading to the inside. Everyone was having dinner. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me in shock. I stared right back. Their eyes widened some more. Humans usually ran away when werewolves stare for too long. But hey I told you I was different. Then a warm feeling fills my body. It was Kai. "Oh hello, Miss-" I send him a cold glare and everyone gasps. Probably because I dared to glare at their alpha. "I mean Ashley," he says. I smile everyone still had that shocked face. "Better, Hi Kai" I walk over to him and hug him. There are more gasps in the room and even more when he hugs me back. "I forgot to say Thank you," I say to him looking into his eyes.
