Chapter 63: He is now a new man.

In the afternoon, Dingxiang comes back to his courtyard along with Qiuyue.

While walking through the garden full of flowers, they hold each other's hands intimately while ignoring the curious looks and gossiping of the servants.

Who cares? Let the whole town known!

Dingxiang felt that there's nothing for them to hide since rumors about their ambiguous relationship were already spreading around a week ago when Qiuyue vouched for him.

Along the way, Dingxiang couldn't help but smile dumbly from time to time. He was in a good mood.

Old things passed away while he finally graduated from a lonesome dog's life and is a new man.

"On the night of the heavy downpour a few days ago, I take in a little girl as a disciple. Yue'er, you were busying in close door training before, but since you are free now, I will introduce you to her later." Dingxiang said with a warm smile while thinking about Xiao Jie.

He wasn't overly worried about Xiao Jie's safety as Little White already staying behind, watching over everything.

These days, the number of spies watching him has decreased considerably. Well, maybe because he has frequently disappeared at random too much that they finally decided to give up.

"Wow, a disciple? Honey, what do you teach?" Qiuyue asked him thoughtfully, wanting to know more about her lover.

As for the nickname, she felt that it would be better to call Dingxiang "honey" than to call him by his name since they are lovers now. Besides, Dingxiang doesn't mind but prefers to be called by the nickname instead.

Said Dingxiang, trying to hide the awkwardness in his heart as he was rather clueless and hasn't decided what to teach Xiao Jie yet.

"By the way, honey, when do you plan on talking to my mother?" Qiuyue inquired, her emerald blue eyes blinking, looking intently at Dingxiang.

"Hmm, let's go and see mother-in-law today? Don't worry too much; just let me handle it." Dingxiang smile and wrapped his hand around Qiuyue's waist, pulling her closer as he reassured her.

How could he not understand her worries?

Dingxiang didn't just chill around these past days; he has been asking around town and could roughly understand her family's situation.

While the Qiao Family elders are already banding together trying to push Xue Yuying off the seat of the patriarch, they would not readily agree if Dingxiang were to ask Qiuyue's hand in marriages so suddenly.

But so what? If those old dogs dare to do anything out of line, he will smack them one by one until they agreed.

Feeling her head leaning against his shoulder, he didn't talk anymore and just enjoying the scenery. However, just as Dingxiang finished his sentence, he felt a tight hug on his waist, making him quite surprised.

After a bit of silence, Dingxiang giggled briefly and responded, "Of course, of course, now let's go."

In a study room somewhere in the Qiao estate, Qiao Tao thinking with a deep frown while hearing the servant's report.

"Go!" Qiao Tao said in annoyance before raising his hand, signaling the servant to excuse himself. Although he looks weak and fragile, there is a sharp look in his eyes.

Staying alone in the darkroom, Qiao Tao tapping his index finger against the wooden armrest of the chair. After contemplating for a while, he sighed.

"Is there nothing I can do?"

"Too many events have happened in the town these past few days. I should wait and see how things turn out from here; there is no need to rush anything."

Qiao Tao is then closing his eyes and silent loomed over the darkroom for a long time. He has found it hard to proceed after knowing that Dingxiang comes out from Qiuyue's courtyard from the servant.

A man and women stay alone in one place; what else could it possibly mean other than that thing?

At first, Qiao Tao has tried to spice Wei Chao against Dingxiang, but the former died a day after. Then there's Wei Li, unable to attend the monthly auction and followed by the massacre inside the abandoned alley.

'Everything was closely linked to that mysterious Doctor Zhu, and it's my niece who connected him to this family. If she doesn't exist then...'

Once this thought emerged in his mind, one could see a cold gleam flashing in the brief moment that he opened his eyes.

Sometime later, Dingxiang finally reached the front door to his courtyard.

The maidservant who was already waiting there ran over hurriedly upon seeing that Dingxiang's return. She bowed and presented him a letter.

"Young Master, you are back. This morning, Doctor Lu has come over and request to see you. But after knowing that you are not present, he left behind a message." (The maidservant)

As Dingxiang listened to her words, he took the letter but was a little puzzled. However, he didn't think much about this matter as everything would be clear once he read the letter's content.

Holding on the left side of his arm, Qiuyue could see the confusion on his face and started explaining. "Honey, Doctor Lu is an old doctor stationed at the leading clinic of our town. Most of the sick patients would go there for treatment. He usually doesn't leave the clinic, but for him to come here today, there much be something important."

Raising the letter in his hand, Dingxiang looking at the words on it and falling into deep thought.

"Let's go inside; I will check it out later." Said Dingxiang with a thoughtful expression before nodding at the maid. "Thank you, and you can go back now."
