The Cabin.

(In the point of view of Olivia.)

I slowly start to wake up to the smell of food. As my eyes open I notice how my body feels slow and heavy. I look around the room I am in remembering the man that found me in the woods.

From the couch I am in a very nice log cabin, there is a strong fire going across from me and there's another chair in the room next to a book shelf stuffed full with books.

I slowly start to lift myself up into a sitting position. Nothing hurts so far, My body is just sore and stiff. That's when I notice my ankle that is wrapped and cleaned with care. I wiggle my toes, all good, I go to flex my ankle.

"I wouldn't do that you're going to hurt yourself more." A strong voice says from behind me.

I jump and turn around staring at the man now standing infront of me. He looks tall, skin tanned from being outside. Long straight black hair, and those golden eyes I remember from last night.

"I'm sorry if I startled you, but I am heating up some stew and tea to warm you up. How are you feeling?" He asks.

"Um I'm feeling better. Thank you for everything." I say looking up at him being as sincere as I can. If he had not found me and brought me here I don't know what I would've done.

"You're welcome. I'm just glad you're doing better. I wrapped up your ankle for you, it looked like just a sprain but you should stay off it while it heals up." He sets down a small pile of clothes. "I grabbed some dry clothes you can borrow. They probably won't fit well but they're dry, I can help you to the bathroom to change now or after you've finished eating if you'd like."

"Oh yes I'd love to get out of these wet clothes." I grab the pile and go to stand up when he grabs my right arm helping me up.

"Be careful and go slowly you don't want it to get worse." He says as he helps me across the room supporting my weak side. I move along with him until we reach the hallway where the bathroom is located. Once there he lets me go.

"You can let me know when you're finished cleaning up and I will help you get back. There are towels in the cabinet and use whatever you'd like." He says and closes the door behind him.

I look a myself in the mirror and gasp as I see how much of a mess I am my hair is a disaster and my clothes are half dried with mud. I start peeling clothes off and turn on the shower to rinse away the rest of the mud left on my skin.

Stepping under the hot water feels amazing especially going through my dirty hair. I see some soap on the shower ledge and use that to wash away the rest of the dirt. Using his soaps I imagine how he must smell, my eyes close as I wash up dreaming. After all the chill has left my body I step out grabbing a towel to dry off. I pick up the clothes he gave me in the pile, a t shirt, sweatshirt, and sweatpants. I decide to throw on the t shirt and sweatpants for now. Before opening the door I look at myself in the mirror again happy I look much better now.

Leaving the bathroom my ankle is beginning to hurt again but I make it to the edge of the hallway before saying anything. He is in the kitchen stirring a pot of what must be the stew on the stove. Taking a deep breath the food smells so good.

"I'm all done." I say and he turns around and pauses to look me over. It feels like ages that we are staring at eachother before he makes his way to me.
