Chapter 6

I was walking down the street. Suddenly someone tapped my shoulder. I turned to see who it is but got scared instead. It was none other than Kevin.

-Hey scaredy cat, where are you going leaving me behind?

-I wasn't. I just have to hurry or I'll be late for my part-time.

-You still do part-times? Wow you work so hard. I'm really jealous of you. No wonder why my mom likes you more than me.

-You start to work hard; your mom will like you more. Even though auntie loves, she just doesn't show it too much. Now I've got to go. I'll talk later.

-I'll go with you.

-No need. I can go alone.

-I'm not going 'cause of you, I'm going with you 'cause I work there; the convenience store you work in.

-Oh, what do you do there? How come I've never seen you there working?

-'Cause I work there wearing my mask and also I don't work like you as a salesgirl, I work individually. I just use the internet.

-Anyways why do you wear the mask? Are you aware of your bad looking now?

Saying this I just laughed teasingly.

-No. I'm kind of popular here for my GOOD LOOKING, you dumb brain. And also I wear this so that no girls will try to hit me. I'm sick and tired of it.

I laughed and teased him all the way. I hurriedly checked in and put on my uniform and stood in front of the counter. I saw him sitting in a corner table opening his laptop and started working. As he started working, he became unusually silent which is the complete opposite of him.

After my 3 hours shift, I was preparing to leave when suddenly Kevin appeared in front of me.

-Your shift's over?

-Yep. Why do you ask?

-Ok. Let's go.

-Where to?

-To your home.

-Why you're going to visit mama?

-No. We'll be going out today. We're going to have dinner with Aunt Olivia.

-Oh. Ok then let's go.

We talked and teased each other on the whole way. Finally we reached in front my home. He told me to call mama and tell her to dress up hurry and meet us downstairs. I did as he told me to. Mama came down as fast as she could. We all sat on Kevin's car and he drove us to the place.

It was a very nice and beautiful place filled with relaxing aroma. We chatted and had our meal. The meal was on Kevin.
