The Owl King

The cave ground was covered with a black mud, which slowed Lei's movement. Suddenly, over his head, a owl with red eyes, and 6 feet wings soared, surprising Lei.

Lei realized something.

He took NO weapons.

Taking alert, he readied to try to use the technique he learned.

Lei punched the owl, causing a chunk of its body to fall out.

But that was only the first, as various colored owls hurled towards him.

He was a expected dinner - huh?

Now, he thought of some way to deal with these much at the same time.

[ For all of your points, you can transfer the system's way of functioning to a deal system. ] displayed the screen.

He clicked 'YES', not fully absorbing what it had said.

How much points do I have..?

[ You have 0 Simple Points. ]

Oh… f*ck. So it really took the points.

The owls took the initiative and swept past Lei, using their claws to slash at his shoulder.

Blood jet out of his body, sending him to his knees.

He threw a rock, hitting a owl's wing, but the accuracy and strength of its wings' movements caused the rock to barely cause a slit before being hurled back at him.

Not only was Iron Fist a great offense, but also a good defense.

He put one hand vertical in front of his face and the other one horizontal by his side, creating its defense stance.

The rock shattered, barely causing a mark.

Then, he threw the shards at piercing speeds, the wings alone not covering for the speed they were pushed at. His moves soon became a well-rehearsed dance, as the owls screeched in frustration as Lei slung the shards until there were none left.

All that was left in its stead were the annihilated bodies of what formerly was a Bronze+ animal.

Finally, as he wandered, he found a looming plant.

The plant had berries, a dark, visible energy enveloping it.

He grabbed five, just incase.

But as he left the cave, unaware that the Depths state was still on it, something was in the sky.

***

The Owl King, king of the best Bronze ranked beasts was honestly surprising.

He had wings, and scleras with black colored circles that zoomed into where the iris and pupil were supposed to be.

He was a humanoid figure with sharp, lengthy nails, roughly three inches long.

His wings spread 12 feet, but could shorten to 2 feet easily.

He seemingly could cut through paper with just a swipe, and cut through even metal by just dragging one finger. He was formidable, and as he soared down at unbelievable speeds, he could not believe what his nose, one of his heightened senses told him.

The blood of Jacques, Marksam, Regit, Vermot, Geildamen, and more of his high-ranking men was like a smelling candle in a odorless room.

He was scared, afraid for once. He burst through the cave's top, opening a wound.

As he walked down the cave, his heart broke one by one.

He wanted to cry. To bend down and rip life and existence. But he acknowledged something. He was too weak. This wouldn't have happened, if he wasn't just a Silver Minus rank.

He burst into the sky, finding someone with a deep clawing injury in their shoulder walking away, smeared with blood not of his.

The Owl King's eyes widened in disbelief and anger. This prey had violently taken the lives of his comrades and was left with a mere scratch to the shoulder! What incompetent scoundrels even let him get in! But it was okay, the Owl King would deal with this cockroach that had been able to escape.

The Owl King dove toward Lei with unmatched speed, his claws glowing with a menacing red energy. Lei, sensing the danger, instinctively used the Iron Fist technique, thrusting his hands forward in a powerful defensive stance.

The Owl King's claws collided with Lei's palms, producing a deafening clash that echoed through the cave. However, Lei's surprise put him at a disadvantage, causing him to recoil slightly.

As Lei recovered, he summoned the full might of the Iron Fist Technique, his stance helping to increase his speed even more. The Owl King, still reeling from the force of the initial clash, couldn't help but be open.

As Lei punched the Owl King's face, a burst of air was moved along with it, and the Owl King felt like he was in some scene in a movie that just wouldn't end.

He subconsciously prepared his energy, his hands illuminating with a powerful red.

Finally, as he stepped backwards, the Owl King pulled his hand back, and shoved all of the energy into his hand in front, causing a powerful spear hand attack to take place.

As the energy coursed through the victim, Lei's body, it bounced across it, causing the pain that the piercing of the Owl King's nails grow exponentially.

Lei quickly took action, ignoring the pain and sidestepping to dodge the Owl King's addition, which was a intentional finisher which caused him to thrust, and therefore move forward.

Lei smiled, feeling the thrill of fighting hit him that had vanished since he stopped going to the Kyokushin classes that put him against other kids when he was twelve.

Lei threw his foot onto the Owl King's neck, who didn't expect the attack.

But before the Owl King could fall down, Lei gave him a elbow strike and used a special move in the Iron Fist Technique.

Metal Uppercut: By forcing all of your body into your fist and uppercutting, you are able to transcend the physical limits of the body but exhaust either your stamina or Qi, based on what is more sustainable to lose in the fight.

As the Owl King flew into the air, he finally found a opening in Lei's movements.

He bolted into the sky, and dove, connecting his head with Lei's fist, who had subconsciously prepared a combination of attacks in the thrill and excitement of the fight

A powerful, air-launching clash sent tornadic airs around the place, causing the energy of the cave which had turned into the Depth, also known as a place inhabited by the beasts cast with dark energy to flicker.

As Lei began taking the impact of the dive of the Owl King, he still was planning to lengthen the excitement, or add more excitement by winning.

He pulled his other hand back and threw a attack that would put holes in buildings.

In the ultimate move of the Iron Fist Technique, you perform a perfect strike concentrated with all your Qi, and the more air resistance, the more Qi will be absorbed by you.

As the Owl King tumbled aside, his vision blurred and he coughed.

Finally, since the 180 years he had delicately picked his victims, he felt a feeling that he hadn't decided well.

But the Iron Fist Technique was built to leave a mark.

So, the Qi that had been injected into the Owl King visualized, a silver color sparking across the Owl King's body, till Lei voluntarily blocked his view to protect his eyes.

Finally, the Owl King was left a mess.

But Lei had his injuries too.

His hand had been dislocated, and all his Qi had been sucked up to the point that if the Owl King had known some regeneration technique, he could have survived well, and maybe kept engaging in battle.

He wondered if the Owl King's body could be sold.

Albeit he looked like a human, he maintained the heart of a animal.

So, Lei dragged the body of the Owl King, which had been overloaded with Qi to the point that just touching his corpse, Lei was given 70% of his Qi.

As he arrived, he looked like a entire killer, as Avex took notice of him.

"Hel— What the f*ck!" Avex's expression fell into horror as he spotted a Bronze Rank dragging the body of the Owl King like it was nothing.

"Is that the damned Owl King!?" Avex yelled.

People took notice of him, some surprised, others praised, and the remaining envied.

"Can I sell him?" asked Lei nonchalantly as he threw the body forward for Avex to identify more.

"How is he still intact!? Only a few of his bones have become brittle, but his wings and possibly even the Azarus juices!" Avex said, quickly walking forward with a surgical knife, splitting open his insides like nothing.

Quickly, some nobles ran by.

"That monster chopped up my son! I'm begging you for it!" one noble remarked.

"I went missing for two days because I searched for my daughter, who had been mutilated into a human mask to mock me!"

The group engaged in a heated debate, each one speaking over the other until a man emerged from the many.

He had one eye covered with a bandage, giving him a fierce and mysterious look. In his hand, he carried a greatsword with a wide blade, its gold-colored hilt adorned with a vibrant red rope wound tightly around it. All eyes turned to him as he approached.

He stared at the body, and pulled out 100,000 gold coins.

That was enough to buy a mansion 100 times!

Or buy a small country.

But another noble appeared, offering 300,000 gold coins!

Another appeared offering 500,000.

Finally, a little girl appeared in front of all of them, and pulled out a whopping 2.1 million gold coins! What the heck!

But Lei wasn't just looking for money, he was looking for someone that wasn't suspicious, like the nobles.

He finally decided.

"Little girl, what do you want from the Owl King so bad to pay that much?" he asked.

"The Azarus juices, they increase the chances of gaining flight from airborne techniques to 75%." she said, in a petite yet aware, and understanding voice.

"And you, sir?" he turned to the man with the sword.

"I want the blood of it. Although it stopped producing, it still has it. The blood allows the user to see Beasts well, and have your senses amplified for fighting them."

"You can get the juices after I get it out, and you can get its blood." Lei said, proud of himself for solving two issues.

Finally, Lei walked away.

In a quiet place with no one, he borrowed Avex's surgical knife with the promise he would provide a mansion for him and began to professionally open wounds.

He put in a bag the Owl King's blood by forcing it out, quickly acting.

Next, he used the Owl King's juices, ripping it violently.

He squeezed some of one of the wing's juices, and put it in another bag.

For him, he squeezed all of the other wing, and took all the blood he could, and put it in a cold bag to maintain it.

He returned back to the buyer's, giving them the liquids respectively, and taking his and using the benefits.

He soaked in the Azarus liquid, his body slowly cultivating its power. He felt good, and all of his pain vanished for a moment, leaving place for this sensation.

He swallowed the Owl King's blood, slightly becoming sick. He was now swallowing the liquids of a Beast he had just killed. What the hell? Was he being fooled into doing this?

Sigh, whatever. It's just some blood… you used to swallow your blood when you got flesh wounds.

Finally, he sat down, and went home.

When he came back, Fing had a dark look on his face, clearly discontent.

For a second, a flash of relief appeared on his second, but he grumpily changed it.

"Son, please tell us when you go out — it's not safe out there. Why are you covered in blood?"

"We can move out." Lei said, as he simply showed the bag he was given - a boundless bag which had the coins in it.

He opened the door for a moment, throwing out the blood pack and green one in regards for the fact the blood pack was just… well, blood, and the green colored liquid could have been thought to be drugs.

"Answer my question and stop playing silly games."

"Ok. I'll answer that first. Well, I went to the Phoenix alliance and got a little job."

Fing looked in fear for a moment, then he changed to a smile, chuckling off it. After all, his son was damaged by a condition that limited his reserves of many and caused his Qi to have a actual consciousness albeit it couldn't talk, it could control itself.

Lei had been silently damaged by this in his fight, as his Qi senses fell dramatically, hence the fact he couldn't tell someone so much stronger than him had won.

"Funny." Fing said, not believing Lei.

Lei suddenly remembered his hand.

He quickly checked his points.

[You have 23 Simple Points from removing a Depth from existence, defeating the Owl King, securing a trade, becoming rich, and surviving due to the placed luck on the user. ]

Lei froze as he realized he had only survived due to the luck.

And he had received such a beating?

No way — this meant that if not for the luck then Lei would have been history.

Welp, it was nothing to sob about.

He saw new tabs.

[ Contracts ]

[ Deals ]

[ Addons ]

He clicked Contracts.

[ In return for the injury to heal and for the user to master the technique of the Iron Fist, the user obeys to hide his wealth by not disclosing where he gained his money. The punishment for breaking this contract is death by your Qi condition. ]

He froze, but he decided it was worth it adding on the technique of the Iron Fist.

He accepted it, causing a bright light to invade his vision, and the snapping of something to alert him back to consciousness.

"Dad, I found a rare item and sold it, we can move into a good home! And I am not lying about the job! I got it! I promise you!" Lei said, with a strong voice, trying to find proof but not let his dad know he gained 2.2 million from a simple item.

"Prove it."

He pulled a dozen of gold coins, which his dad froze upon seeing.

"I-Impossible!" his dad stammered.

He added on twenty more, and now his dad believed it.

***

For the whole day, his dad cried to his mother, believing that his son was aware of dying soon, and was attempting to help his family before dying.

But really Lei wasn't proud of being the "Divine Farmer Hero" of his time.

As the night went on, they packed up, and called a car, driving to the rich city and spotting a big house with places for Lei to practice.

Now, Lei could finally get started.
