GREG was right all this while, Meghan was a bad person, Liz had thought wrong of both Meghan and Spencer.
Infact, the only person who was really right and transparent all this time was Greg. He was the one who has been true to her from the very beginning but she was so blind in her sister's fake love.
And Spencer... Spencer who she thought was her soulmate. Who knows? It seemed Greg was.
Infact, if she had her way she would get married to Greg and start all over but no, she was soooooo done with love and it's consequences. Time to face divorce.
She wept, pacing the parlour steadily. She hadn't prepared for it to happen this way. I wanted it smooth and steady. I would come, lay my complaint. He lay his. We'll both agree on the divorce in peace and mayhap I would have my last kiss with him before a final good bye. She wept.
The divorce was tomorrow, no delay. Meghan would inform her family and set up the judge. Spencer will do his, while Liz would wait patiently for tomorrow. She would charge Spencer for murder and cheating.
Just as she was finalizing everything in her head, she had a faint knock. She opened the door absentmindedly and continued pacing the parlour when she found out it was Meghan!
She stood shocked, not because Meghan had come to mock her, insult her or worsen the situation, but she saw Meghan pale and as defenseless as an ant. This got Liz shocked.
"I won't take your time" she stepped in; "I...I...have a confession" she played with her fingers frighteningly. Liz was too shocked to speak. "I caused everything. And I'm sorry. I...wanted revenge for what I thought you did"
"-" Liz was still there, standing shocked.
Meghan continued; "I misunderstood all your actions and I came to understand today that I was wrong" she heaved a sigh and narrated thus;
"I listened to your quarrel with Spencer and understood I was wrong. You've been there for me, you even put me first before anyone and I failed to see so. I was just being jealous and selfish. I wanted what you had. I wanted charisma...fame...and the kind of love people showed you. I thought you were all showing that off. I'm sorry Liz. Today I learned you were looking out for your family and I was stealing that away. I just felt guilty and had to share this with you before you make any decision. It started even before we went to school, I just hated the way everybody concentrated on you more than me at home and to make that worse even Greg caught your attention. I've just been foolish---" she was in tears.
"It's okay Meghan, you don't have to explain" Liz was caught up in the whole emotional saga.
"Forgive me Liz, if I deserve it" she sobbed; "...and one last thing, Spencer didn't sleep with me on purpose. I made him"
Liz broke down, she was ashamed for not listening to Spencer.
"He kept on talking about how you won't understand his situation and how he longed to have you with him and how he wished you didn't blame him, I had no choice but to make him drunk, giving him plenty amount of alcohol, I told him it was okay, nothing was going to go wrong. I wanted my revenge there and now and easy for me, he fell drunk and sat subconscious. I quickly stripped him naked and took him to the room. My first motive was to video the whole scene of us having sex but then you showed up and it was easy for me. He heard your voice and immediately became sober. That was what shocked me the most because, seconds earlier he was very drunk. That's the whole truth"
"I'm sorry Liz. He really loves you, he kept on calling your name when we were making love" she held Liz to prevent her from loosing all consciousness.
They cried together for a long period of time and it was obvious Meghan had to go back home. "Please forgive me. I'll be seeing you at the court" she said and left.
Liz was ashamed of herself, once again she was selfish and one sided, as Meghan accused her, putting Spencer in such a position that he got fed up with life and everything and even gave in to laying with Meghan. She was truly sorry and brutally hurt.
