The Academy

In a room filled with light from the outside, there were twenty-two seats around a table. Each seat was filled with one person except one, which was a throne seat. They were chatting and seemed to be waiting for someone to enter.

It didn't take long before that person came. Opening the door, a six foot, seven man with black hair entered. Each person immediately appeared in front of the man and kneeled on the ground.

"Welcome back, Sir Jack!" They said in unison.

Jack, the man, signaled each student to sit back down and and walked over to his seat. Upon seating, he pulled out a few news articles and documents about a certain ruckus in the human territory.

'Sebastian wouldn't have done it, right? I mean, he's at most Peak F-Ranked or Beginner E-Rank but his strength doesn't match that ranking at all.' Jack could only make speculations since finding out that Sebastian was alive and managed to make enemies out of all the Apostles.

Standing up, Jack instructed the twenty-one children to follow. As they followed him, they kept whispering to each other about a certain someone. After the major revelation, they all had hope for him and wanted to see him.

"Welcome to the academy!" Jack said as the portal opened up behind. If one were to look at the portal, it was locked behind gates.

Lycaon knew they were gonna go to the academy sooner or later so he had to disguise himself. If the students were to learn that Lycaon was royalty, they would give him special treatment and try to get on his good side, hoping they would get promotions for them or their family.

His hair changed from a silver to a blonde color and his facial structure changed. It looked like your above average handsome boy but also emitted an air of elegance. Obviously from first glance, one would think he was a noble but his background was changed from royalty to a commoner.

Although his magic would be a dead giveaway, he managed to learn his secondary magic and it was a purple flame. It wasn't the strongest flame but it was still powerful as it was more powerful than a blue flame yet weaker than a white flame.

The color of a person's flame would determine how strong it was. Black flames would burn the hottest and last the longer, golden flames would burn brightly and were three-fourth as powerful as black flames. White flames were more powerful than blue flames while blue flames were powerful than red/orange flames.

Of course there are the other flames that were variants and powerful. Hell Flames were green and more powerful than black flames and the other variant was Lycaon's flames, purple.

Upon entering the portal, they were greeted with a massive academy and hundreds of students walking around. Their eyes lit up as they never saw expensive looking buildings. Lycaon saw this and remembered that they were commoners that never saw luxurious stuff before.

They immediately gathered the attention from surrounding nobles as it was obvious that they hadn't been near luxurious cities or kingdoms around the Werewolf Empire.

"Alright, I've already registered all of you in the academy system. Lycaon will be called Blake Foster from now on until you finish academy or he chooses to reveal it." Jack said.

Walking forward, Lycaon decided to lead them around the academy and to get them used to the environment. While they were walking, Lycaon explained to them that they couldn't use aura as it would give away their identity as Jack's apprentices.

They started to notice they were given weird stares from the surrounding students. They assumed they must've been nobles as their faces had the look of disgust.

After reaching the boy's dorm, they were all placed on the bottom floor with each other while Lycaon was given a room to himself. All of their rooms were filled with dust and had broken floor boards as this was the commoner dormitory. Lycaon's room was worse compared to theirs as his room had writing on the wall, a broken bed, broken floor boards and shattered glass on the ground.

'This is gonna be my home for the next couple years, huh?'

Getting to work, Lycaon slowly started to repair the room and it took him a couple of minutes. After a while, he heard a knock and assumed it was his friends.

Opening it, he could already assume that they wanted him to show them around the academy since he was originally from a rich family.

"Follow me. I'll show you around." He said.

Walking down a hallway, he showed them the cafeteria then moved onto the weapon training class. The next class was beast biology and after that was magic study. Ignoring all the disgusted stare, they arrived back at their dormitory and settled in.

It took a few hours to show them around the academy and its camp grounds as the academy itself was massive. It was almost comparable to the size of a large city. There were always guards around the academy in order to protect the academy from attackers.

When he walked inside his room, he noticed that it was trashed again and on the wall it said, 'No cleaning the room, commoner trash!'

Sighing, Lycaon went against the wall's order and repaired the room again. He didn't like that nobles were always arrogant and self-entitled so he thought while he was here, he would cause a ruckus with the nobles and teach them lessons.

After he finished cleaning the room, it was nighttime and went to bed for the day.

______

Morning Time…

A loud bell rang as it signaled that it was time to wake up and get ready for class. Since it was the beginning of the academy, they had to wake up the students so they would arrive in the massive auditorium.

Stepping outside his room, he noticed that his friends were already heading toward the auditorium without him. As he watched them walking away, he noticed they already acted like they owned the place. Though it was no surprise, Lycaon knew they had to act independent and couldn't rely on him during their stay.

After arriving inside the auditorium, they all sat near each other in a row. A man with blue hair walked on the stage and activated a magical spell that amplified his voice.

"Welcome the Academy of Werewolves! I'm the Headmaster of this academy. I hope you'll have a great time and become powerful for the Werewolf Empire. "

Staring at the ground, the headmaster's gaze stayed on Lycaon and he stared back. It was obvious that the headmaster knew who Lycaon was and it didn't seem like he liked him too much.

"I see some new faces that I haven't seen before. Hopefully those that have been here longer can show the newbies around and teach them. After all, it's best that everyone gets along with each other.

Onto the next topic. We'll be introducing some new teachers since some of our previous instructors have sadly passed away.

I'd like you to meet Howard, the new magical study instructor!"

A six foot tall man with brown hair and green eyes, with glass walked on stage and began to introduce himself.

"Onto the next one! Leo, the new combat instructor!"

A five foot, nine bald man who seemed to be blinded walked on stage. Beside him were two different katanas that were emitting a dangerous energy. He didn't introduce himself and stayed quiet.

One thing they noticed was it was a human instead of a werewolf.

"As you probably have noticed, he's a human. The human have sent Leo as a sign of trust. We sent our own combat instructor to them to show our trust in them.

Last but not least, our new rune instructor!"

A woman came walking on the stage and her enthusiasm was seen all over his face.

"Hello everybody! My name is Sarah!" She said.

She was five foot four and had blonde hair with brown eyes. Every boy couldn't help but stare and admire her beauty.

"Class is gonna start soon. When you leave the auditorium, walk to the guards standing outside and tell them your name. They'll give you a piece of paper and it'll show your classes."

Listening to his instructions, they learned about their first class and it seemed that every one of them got the same class.

Combat Training!

Heading outside, they arrived at the training hall that stretched a quarter mile long. When they looked around, they noticed that there were a lot of other students.

Leo, the combat instructor, shouted at the top of his lungs and spoke, "As you heard, my name is Leo! I was the combat instructor of a top academy in the human territory!

Today's class, I want you to grab a weapon you want to learn or already learned about!"

Along a wall, there were hundreds of various weapons hung. Walking over to the wall, Lycaon couldn't choose a weapon for himself.

He trained his whole life for hand-to-hand combat instead. He found weapons to be useless as they always got in the way but still trained in some weapons.

"What's your name, boy?" Leo said, noticing he hadn't picked a weapon.

"Lyc- I mean, Blake Foster." Lycaon replied.

"Why do you refuse to pick a weapon? A weapon is your lifeline. You can't always rely on your magic as it may be disabled or you may run out of mana."

Thinking back to the time the black knight slashed through his slowed field, Lycaon walked back up to the wall and thought hard about his weapon.

His magic was fire so he needed a weapon that would go along with his magic. He thought about a whip but that would require him to use range.

'Those!'

Choosing a pair of gauntlets, he figured that since his strong suit is hand-to-hand combat, it would be best.

"You're brave. You're not afraid to get up close and personal with your target. You can punch them and they can act as a shield from incoming attacks." Leo stated.

Looking toward others, he noticed that nobody else chose gauntlets.

"Although I am a combat instructor, I'm not an expert in every field of weaponry. Some of you might even be better than me. When it comes to fighting, you always want to predict your target's next move so you can strike them or dodge their attacks. For this lesson, I want you to grab a partner so I can see your combat capability with that weapon."

Looking toward the others, he noticed they picked random people instead of each other.

'I suppose they want to test everyone else and test them.'

Suddenly, a large boy with a large battle axe walked over to Lycaon.

"Hey you! Let's partner up and spar!"

It was evident that the boy picked Lycaon since he picked gauntlets. He figured that he would destroy the gauntlets and cripple the commoner at the same time. He stared toward a girl and noticed he got her attention.

'He wants to impress his crush… Let's embarrass him instead.' Lycaon thought.

"I'll gladly accept." Lycaon replied.

"I forgot to say but no using your magic!" Leo chimed in.

Getting into a defensive stance, Lycaon was ready to face his target.

The boys charged in and wielded it high in the sky. When he swung it down, Lycaon spun around to the side, avoiding the attack and throwing a kick at the same time. His kick caused the boy to stumble and Lycaon quickly threw a fist toward his head.

Bang!

The fight ended quickly and the boy's crush laughed at him. It surprised her that a commoner managed to takedown a noble and took a quick note inside her about Lycaon or rather, Blake Foster.

While his fight was finished, twenty other fights were also finished not long after his.

'It seems like we have a few dark horses in this class' Leo thought.
