"Impossible!" A boy shouted in disbelief..

Inside a hall that stretched quarter mile long, a boy had revealed his magic. His magic was fire and didn't seem to be that interesting as it was a basic magic but it wasn't any ordinary fire. His fire magic was a variant and it was hell flames.

It was surprising to everyone that someone from a commoner background managed to obtain a ultra rare magic. The only other person to have an ultra rare magic was a girl that black flames and it was impressive but nowhere near as impressive as hell flames.

'The noble clans aren't gonna take a liking to this. This will cause an uproar.' Howard, the magic instructor, thought.

The amazement didn't stop there as ten other students revealed a rare or ultra rare type of magic. Sword magic, void magic, light magic, dark magic, barrier magic, blood magic, dimensional magic, shadow magic, sealing magic, and lightning magic that was a white variant.

Everyone had one thought in their head and that thought was they were gonna become monsters in the future. Some nobles even had thought about recruiting them into their family while others thought about having them assassinated.

'I knew this was gonna happen but it can't be helped.' Lycaon said, leaning against a wall.

He knew that their magic was gonna be revealed one way or another and cause an uproar. The problem he thought about was the targeting of them and the bullying that might befall on them. Another thought that crossed his mind was the headmaster of the academy. He already heard about his unfair treatment toward commoners attending the school.

Now that there were commoners with rare types of magic and excellent combat capabilities. He would most likely abuse his powers to ensure they wouldn't grow stronger than the other nobles.

"Alright class! Let's continue on with today's class! I want you to find a partner and spar with them! I want to measure your magical capabilities and give you tips on how to improve!" Howard shouted at the top of his lungs.

After hearing his words, everyone wanted a piece of the newcomers and their friends. The girl with the black flames immediately approached Kai and asked him to spar.

Soon, everyone found a partner but didn't spar as they wanted to focus on Kai and the girl's fight.

_______

"What do you mean your flames changed?"

In the room, Kai was having a conversation with Jack. During one of his training lessons, Kai noticed that his flame began to change from a red/orange flame to a green flame. He didn't care for it as he thought it was normal until his magic overpowered Jason's nature magic and nearly killed him.

"You already know that my flames used to be red/orange flames but they changed. My flames are now green and seem to be more powerful than ever." Kai stated with concern.

'Green flames? The only flames that resemble that are hell flames but it's unheard of flames changing suddenly unless… No, that's impossible.'

"Those flames are called Hell Flames. Those flames are very dangerous and more powerful than the black flames I've told you about. It's best that you spar with me from now."

"I would hate to harm such a beautiful girl so I'd suggest you go and find a different sparring partner." Kai said, disinterested.

"Just because you got Hell Flames, doesn't mean you are better than everyone else." The girl replied.

The girl continued to argue until Kai agreed to fight but under one condition. The moment their flames touched or harmed each other, the fight is over. She was reluctant to agree but she didn't have a choice, otherwise, Kai wouldn't agree to the spar.

Getting in a combat stance, both of them were ready and awaiting Howard's signal to start.

"Start!"

Without a second to spare, the girl casted a fireball spell and jumped back.

'So obvious.' Kai thought.

His hand started to light up until his flames took the shape of a sword. The moment the fireball was in range, he cleaved it in half and destroyed it.

'Such mastery! He must've spent months, if not years, to have that mastery.' Howard thought, amazed.

In the next moment, Kai stuck his hand out and casted multiple small fire balls toward the girl. Before the girl could dodge, she noticed Kai had rushed and thrusted his sword of flames forward.

Putting her hands together, she created a flamethrower and realized she went overboard with her attack. Stopping her attack, she stared and saw ashes fall to the ground, and assumed the worst had happened.

"You shouldn't block your vision when facing your opponent."

Behind her, Kai held his blade of flames beside her neck and made sure she surrendered. Everyone clapped in amazement and couldn't help but feel respected for Kai, even though he was a commoner.

"Will you marry me?" The girl asked Kai.

Everyone around them was surprised by the sudden question. Why would a noble ask a commoner for marriage? That was the question on every commoner's and noble's mind right now.

'W-What?! Marriage?!' Kai thought

"I-I'll think about it." Kai said, red as a tomato.

Walking away, Kai sat on a nearby bench and put his head down.

"Everyone, continue on with your spar!" Howard shouted.

_______

Three Hours Later…

Walking toward the cafeteria, the group of friends arrived and saw the food that was being served to everyone. The food surprised them as commoners were also being fed the same food as the nobles.

"A couple years ago, I visited this academy and noticed commoners weren't being fed good like the nobles so I requested my grandfather to change that and so he did." Lycaon said to his friends.

"Your grandfather must've really favored you to accept your request." Lexi said.

Once they obtained their food, they all sat at the same table and began to talk. They talked about their experience so far in the academy but one topic was always brought up and that was the girl asking Kai for marriage.

"So, what are you gonna say to her?" Julissa asked.

"What are you talking about?" Kai asked, trying to avoid the question.

"You already know. I'm talking about… she coming this way."

Turning around, Kai noticed the girl was indeed coming to their table and noticed another boy was behind her. He immediately thought that was her supposed betrothal.

They all moved so the girl and the boy could sit down and she sat by him. His heart rate skyrocketed as he thought he was gonna get in trouble.

"So you're the boy?... I don't know much about you other than the fact that you're a commoner so I'll be keeping an eye on you and my sister."

'Sister?'

The boy left while his sister stayed and began to eat her food. The atmosphere around their table changed as it remained silent other than the girl eating.

"Are you not gonna eat?" She asked them all.

Each of them started to eat and always took a quick glance toward the girl. They couldn't help but question how lucky Kai was while Lycaon thought about the consequences of her marriage proposal.

'It's already hard as it is to ask the clan for marriage but the fact that she asked is surprising. Does she not know that her clan will be angered by her proposal? They'll likely have Kai assassinated or kidnapped.' Lycaon thought.

Ignoring her, Lycaon continued to eat his food while feeling the hostile gazes aimed Kai. If he could find all of his possible attackers, he could help Kai fight them.

Suddenly, a strong killing intent descended inside the entire cafeteria as a single teenage boy walked inside. He continued to walk until he arrived at their table and stared at Kai.

'A third year student? Isn't he her betrothal?' Lycaon noticed.

"What are you doing?" The teenage boy asked.

'Eating." The girl replied.

"That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking what are you doing beside a commoner?"

"You mean my future fiancé?"

"So the rumors were true."

The teenager lunged forward and grabbed Kai by collar and looked into his eyes.

In an instant, the teenager's arm was grabbed and frozen while his other arm was also grabbed and encased with metal. In front of his throat was a sword while behind him was an arrow made of blood was pointed at his back.

"You don't know your place at all, do you?" The teenager asked.

Within one second, all of their magic crumbled and turned into nothingness. This surprised them and noticed each time they tried to cast their magic, it was returned to nothingness.

'There was a reason why her clan agreed to the marriage proposal to his clan.'

"My magic is time magic. Your magic is useless, if I keep turning back time."

Giggling a bit, Kai stood up and his entire body was engulfed in green flames. He then pressed his hand against the teenager's arm and started to spread his flames across his arm.

"If you can turn back time, then get rid of my flames." Kai said.

Trying to turn back time, the teenager realized it didn't work against Kai's flames. He knew time magic was limited but didn't think it wouldn't affect Hell Flames.

"Very well then."

The teenager appeared beside Kai and a blue bubble appeared around Kai. He froze Kai in time and noticed his Hell Flames weren't affected while he was frozen.

Lycaon looked toward Lendell and nodded. Lendell then grinned and appeared beside the teenager, and spoke.

"Gravity increase: Twenty pounds."

The teenager experienced a large increase in gravity and weight to the point that he fell to the ground. Looking up, the teenager saw a fist coming toward and realized his time magic didn't affect the gravity around him.

Bang!

He was sent flying into a nearby wall and blood could be seen leaking out of his mouth. Everyone, who saw this, was amazed by Lendell's capability to harm a third year.

'His time magic may seem flawless but it can't affect him or something he doesn't know the fundamentals about. Though the same can't be said about his hand-to-hand combat.'

Angered by Lendell's attack, he appeared beside him and threw a fist, and fainted it into a kick. Before his attack could hit, a hand appeared and flipped him into the ground.

"That's enough."

Everyone was surprised to see who it was as they didn't expect a teacher to intervene. The teacher that had appeared was Leo and his blade was drawn against the teenager's throat.

"If you go any further, then I'll have to intervene." Leo stated.

'He's stronger and faster than I thought.' Lycaon was able to see a blur before Leo appeared. He also noticed that Leo didn't use all of his strength to arrive.

Everyone resumed eating and pretended they didn't see anything but always took a quick glance toward Leo and the teenager. It was obvious they wanted to know what the teenager's next move was but soon was unamazed.

He didn't do anything and walked outside the cafeteria. They expected him to try and fight Leo but instead he left without a word.

"Are you ok, boy?" Leo asked.

"Yes. Thank you." Kai replied.

Leo proceeded to walk away while the other teachers showed their disapproval of his intervention. They couldn't do anything about it as he was the human's sign of trust for them.

"I'm sorry about that. He's supposed to be my betrothal." The girl said.

"Then why did you choose me? I'm just a commoner."

"Because you're cute and seem to be a kind person. Also, you seem to be the type to act first without thinking." She giggled.

Kai felt a warm feeling enter his heart as he thought about her words. He looked toward Lycaon and he nodded.

"Let's get to know each other before we think about that. You don't know if I will change within the time between our marriage." Kai said, remembering what had happened to Sebastian during their training.

"Sure!" She said smiling.
