Chapter 5 Demigod

"So you're telling me that my father is Poseidon god of the sea. " he said.

"Yup" I replied.

"And that he left me and mom because Ancient Laws forbid gods from interacting with their mortal children. Right?" He asked.

"Uh hu." I replied.

"And now I know that I'm a demigod monsters will start attacking me because my scent got stronger."

"Yeah I didn't think that one through." I said as I scratch my head.

"Look I know its hard to believe what I'm saying-"I started to say but was cut of.

" Oh I believe you, I mean come on you almost drowned me. Even if you didn't try to drown me I'll still believe you. " He said with a smile.

" Why? " Genuinely curious.

" Because I know you wont lie to me about something so serious." He said grinning like a fool.

I can't help but feel touch at how much he trusts me. No I'm not crying, you're crying.

" Hey you alright?" Percy asked.

"Yeah just something in my eye." I said as I wiped away the dust, yes dust not tears, away from my eyes. Darn my childish emotions.

As I fixed myself up I went back to the topic at hand.

"Anyways back to business you understand don't you, why your father left and why your mother married Gabe?"I asked going back to topic.

" Yeah, dad did it because he had no choice and my mom married Gabe to protect me from the monsters. " He said while clenching his fist.

" Yeah I'm hoping Gabe's stench in enough to hide your scent from the monsters even though it got stronger. " I said sheepishly. And in a fews days it will turn out that I was right. Gabe was that stinky.

I can tell. He was about to throw a tantrum because of him being unable to do anything. Unable to do anything for his beloved mother.

" Look I know you're frustrated right now and so am I, but we can't do anything about it. You can scream to the fates of how unfair it is that we have to live like this having our mothers be left alone by our fathers,or that we as demigods will forever be hunted down by hungry monsters but the end of the day we just have to accept it. So just wait and one day we might meet our fathers again and have a talk with them about leaving our moms and maybe punch them a few times because they're bad fathers. So just calm down and wait alright?"I said

That got him to calm down. Then he looked like he had a sudden realization.

" If my father is Poseidon then who's your

father? " He asked

" Hades God of the Dead, brother of Poseidon and that means were cousins. "I said with a grin.

He looked shocked then shock was replaced with happiness as he hugged me and continuously whisper.

" Cousin I have a cousin I have a cousin this is the best day ever!"Percy said.

" Alright alright calm down " I said as I pat his back.

" Hey do we tell Aunt Sally about this... demigod business? "I asked unsurely.

" No! If my mom finds out that my demigod scent got stronger she'll be worried to death. " He said seriously. Not the lie I was a bit intimidated of how serious he was being. So I tried to change the subject.

" Cool,cool. Hey Perce now that explanations are out of the way want to play with the snake shadow? I named him Manda. " I excitely said.

" Yeah! " Happily said as I made Manda come out of my shadow.

And thats how we spent the rest of the night before Manda hid in my shadow sensing that my mom was coming.

" Boys its now Bedtime. Get ready to sleep and go brush your teeth." My mom said.

After we brushed our teeth we laid down in the same bed me on the left him on the right.
