THE SHOW must Go on

From the deep dark void comes a threat that doesn't want to destroy or conquer, but to bring you into their empire and protect you, the only catch is that you have to join their great show that entertains and streams content out to their whole empire. This show isn't like a regular game show, but filled with brain eating parasites, alien beasts, cannibals, bandits and only 1 rule, keep it entertaining. These aliens have taken over certain cities around the globe and turned them into gaming areas where they give out objective like quests with the promise of rewards including but not limiting alien tech, human augmentation, worldly delights and anything else you can ask for. Follow Sebastion Denning, a broken human being, both mentally and physically, as he tries to blunder through every new horror and disaster that comes his way trying to erode him piece by piece. He has to make his way through with all of the random skills he's picked up through his life along with a massive dose of luck, both good and bad in spades. this is my first time writing so its rough and probably filled with writing errors, but I wanted to give this a shot so if you don't mind don't ripp me too bad for butchering the English language. thanks and I hope you enjoy it.

Medieval knight 14

The moon in the preparation room…

"Ahem,", Quirrel began composing itself after the bizarre maniacal laughing bout further showing the crazy mood swings this creature was prone to exhibiting. Coughing delicately and straightening its suit once more before continuing, "Now after this explanation I'm sure all of you have questions you'd like answered and at the moment I can begin to field some of them, but sadly I won't be able to answer all of your questions as you are just beginners and as they say in some places of this planet knowledge is power as well as currency.", at the last Quirrel leaned back and adopted a pose reminiscent of it sitting in a non-existent chair high in the air, "You may begin with your questions now.".

Through the ending of Quirrel's lengthy information session Seb had continued to look around the crowd trying to get a feel for the people around him when he had spotted someone who stuck out from the rest, behind him and to his right about fifteen meters was a person completely decked out in medieval armour that was covered in blood both dry and recently spilled. The out of place figure was leaning forward resting against a long sword that looked to be about a meter in length that was slowly leaving a puddle of blood from the gore staining its length, at a closer glance they seemed to be just recovering their breath even after Quirrel's lengthy dialogue dragging in great slow breaths and flexing their fingers open and closed as if trying to ward off numbness.

The armour clad figure definitely drew attention from all those around them who were either looking at the antique style of armour that definitely was a rarity in this era, or at the amount of blood they were covered in giving them a rather menacing aspect for sure. For their part the figure didn't seem to mind the stares as they took one more large breath before beginning to survey the people surrounding them in what might be some kind of intermission, it definitely seemed that wherever they had been plucked from they were more than likely swinging that sword in a desperate bid for survival right up to the end.

The medieval figure was slowly looking at the crowd around in their vicinity but stopped suddenly as they locked eyes with Seb at which point they just froze for a few seconds seeming to try and make sense of Seb as if he was an alien just like Quirrel, after and awkward moment of staring at each other the knight slowly straightened their back and taking up their sword in a clenched fist now began to march straight toward Seb through the crowd that parted like a shoal of fish for a sleek predatory shark.

"Oh F*ck.", Seb didn't particularly like the determined stride of the blood covered figure striding towards him, but just as he was about to stand and take up his pipe wrench to confront them they reached with their open hand and casually flipped their helmet visor revealing a smiling face that froze Seb in place stunned.

"Seb is that you?", the question came out and cemented who this figure was in an instant, "Oh man it's-it's good to see you! I thought you were dead the last time I saw you but considering everything I've heard the Quirrel guy you must have been taken and held here.", the enthusiasm with which he spoke was at odds with his appearance but was definitely not out of place for the speaker to those who knew him.

"Josie is that you?", Seb couldn't believe that his apprentice was standing in front of him at all, especially taking into the account of him being covered in gore, armour and wielding a sword.

"Ya it's me. Man it's wild you look exactly the same as when I last saw you, you're even still sitting on that bucket with your lunch? It's been like ten days since I last saw you.", Josiah finally came to a stop looking down at Seb with that familiar smile on his face that now seemed a little forced, but Seb could see the start of dark circles under his eyes and the gauntness to his face that spoke to not having eaten or slept properly in days.

"Ten days that can't be right? Man the last thing for me was lunch staring at that big guy in the sky listening to his speech and then the next thing I know I'm here listening to another speech, although this one is bat sh!t crazy and sounds like it was ripped out of a horror novel. Why are you wearing armour by the way? Also why is it covered in blood?", Seb immediately felt relief at seeing his young apprentice showing up even if it was in an odd manner such as this, but there were still questions that needed to be asked and answered.

"Well I mean like I said It's been ten days since you disappeared so I'm not sure how it could have just been an instant for you, and when you did disappear everything went crazy man, a bunch of those jump suit original guys appeared all over the city,", as Josiah was beginning to explain everything he pointed up to the hollo with his red stained sword, "one even popped up on site and went crazy attacking everyone, it had some crazy mantis arms it used to grab people and could jump crazy far! It appeared down at the lower levels by the main entrance and was picking people off as they tried to get off site, we could hear the screams and when we went to look over the edge to see what was going on it must have spotted us, or maybe sensed us somehow because it just let go of whoever it had in its arms and just jumped straight up scrabbling up the building!", Josie paused for a second to collect himself before looking Seb in the eyes and continuing, "We didn't even have much time to react before it was on our floor and before we knew what happened it flew by and Peter our foreman's head was ripped off as the thing tried to grab him, after that we scattered and tried to get away as it began attacking all of the guys on the crew.".

"Jesus Josie…are you like fuckin…ok?", Seb needed to ask as Josiah seemed to pause and space out for a while, Seb could now definitely recognize the subtle trauma markers this incident left on his friend.

"Hmmm? Oh yah don't worry I'm fine I didn't get bit or anything, it almost got me though near the end when I was getting close to the stairs, when it jumped for me I tripped in my rush to get out of there and it missed me and instead started after the drywalling crew…while it was busy with them I was able to get away down the stairs and off site.", looking up at the image again Josiah could only shake his head as he continued, "I passed a lot of people who were all in a pretty bad way with bites or claw marks on them as I ran to my car man…I was so scared I didn't even try to help anyone…I just ran man, I was so scared.".

"F*ck that Josie you did the right thing man, just from your description nobody was prepared to face something like that, again you did the right thing in not stopping man…they couldn't be helped.", Seb had comforted many people over the years who had been through traumatic events, he seemed to attract them in his travels and travails out partying, he easily slipped back into his role and stood up placing a hand on Josiah's shoulder, "Don't think like that, that sh!t will start haunting you and begin making you second guess yourself homie. This shit is crazy and you made it, I doubt many other people on the site were doing anything other than trying to get the f*ck out of there themselves.".

"I know but it's hard man, I can still see them there covered in blood and that white goo that must have been those eggs for the drivers you know? It's just stuck in my head as the first time I saw it.", Josiah looked at Seb with a small smile letting him know he appreciated his gesture.

Seb took a half step back and pulled his hand away sharply, "Josie by white egg goo do you mean that sh!t on your arms?".
