Chapter two

Dai Luoshang felt his heart tighten. Besides him were two other experts of the clan: the clan leader Dai Cang and the grand elder Dai Cangtu. The three strongest experts in Ornifal stood on the city wall, watching the Devil's army.

Dai Luoshang spoke first. He had a very strong appearance, and even with the great army nearby, he didn't look fazed. "The younger generation of the clan should be sent away through the secret exit. We have no way of winning this war; we can only manage to stall them to buy some time."

"So it has really come to this," the grand elder muttered.

"Even if the city is to fall today, we must take down these devils with us," the clan head's hot-tempered voice rang. The Devil's army swarmed in; Luoshang and the rest left the city walls and rushed down from the city walls.

A charming devil, resembling a seductress, stepped forward. The way she licked her lips suggested darker intentions.

"What do you want? We have never offended the Devil's army before. Why would the ruler of hell, the Devil's monarch, send his army to destroy us?" Luo Cangtu was the one who spoke out.

The experts felt goosebumps as they sweated. This woman was really dangerous. She could massacre people just because they weren't pleasing in her eyes. What a dreadful woman; they couldn't help but think this in their hearts.

Dai Cangtu sighed, "Do we really have to fight?" he asked no one in particular. "So be it. Fight we shall fight. Let it never be heard that the men of Ornifal are cowards," he said as he pulled out his sword, and the other experts also took out their different weapons as they charged with him.

Baili was witnessing the scene from the Dai clan tower. His heart clenched with terror at what he was seeing. The Devil's army swarmed the city. The imps grabbed the experts and tore them in two as they bit their flesh. They were actually eating the experts.

The experts fought back, and the smell of blood thickened. The feys transformed into fey beasts, pouncing on the devils. A large number of imps and devil race evaded the experts and feys as they headed for the normal inhabitants of the city and ate them with gusto.

Some powerful experts that still remained in the city tried to stop them, but it was a vain attempt. The number and strength of the Devil's army in the city were too much for them to contend with. The sounds of battle rang out everywhere around the city.

Dai Luoshang engaged the female devil who spoke first. Dai Luoshang was in the seventh level of the origin realm and had cultivated his spear technique to a high degree. He struck out with his spear as the female devil dodged and followed up with a counter-attack.

Both were spear-wielding experts. The female devil was a little surprised at the level of Dai Luoshang's spear technique. If not for his lower realm, she might not be his match.

She pulled away from him, launching a long-range attack, "Inferno Hell." It was a common fire technique used by the Devil's race, giving them the ability to use the inferno fire from hell. The power of the inferno fire conjured depended on the level of the wielder and their capability.

Luoshang dodged to the side, using his spirit energy to block the fire. He managed to weaken the fire greatly, yet he was still burnt by the remaining fire and was injured. His hand tightened on his spear as he formed a spear qi, flashing it. He struck out with a peerless technique, hitting the female devil and sending her flying.

The female devil flew like a kite on a broken string as she crashed to the ground.

Two Devil's race members nearby, who had only been watching the fight at first, had no choice but to join the fight after seeing the female devil defeated.

Luoshang was besieged by the two Devil's race members who were quite stronger than the female devil. He took them on bravely as the fight grew intense. His body contracted as he transformed into a huge werewolf fey beast.

In his heart, he prayed that his son would be able to escape. If his son managed to escape, then he would have no regrets and could die peacefully.

On top of the Dai family tower, Baili stood with a frightened expression as he took in the scene of the slaughter. The humans and feys were clearly no match for the Devil's army; they were clearly overwhelmed.

He was in a dilemma. If he went down the tower, he would surely be killed by these dreadful devils. But if he continued staying on the tower, the devils would surely find him by themselves.

One of the imps sighted Baili on the tower and made a dash for the tower. A few other imps followed its example as they headed for the tower.

Dai Xin had been fervently looking for Baili everywhere with Javis. They were looking for him when they saw a group of imps heading for the tower steps. Dai Xin instinctively looked up and was shocked to see Baili on the roof of the tower.

"Those devils are going for my Baili. Quick, let's catch up with them," she shouted at Javis as she headed straight for the tower steps.

Javis chased after her.

On the tower, Baili had seen the imps coming after him. He was scared out of his wits as he racked his mind trying to figure out what to do.

The silhouette of an imp could be seen as it climbed up the roof of the tower. Baili pulled himself together, ready to stake his all.

The imp dashed at him. A white beam of light flashed, and the imp was knocked to the side. The silhouette of Dai Xin could be seen; she had climbed the tower through another way. More imps rushed in, and a light flashed as Javis jumped into the fray.

He kicked out, and two imps fell to the side. Dai Xin grabbed Baili as she headed down the stairs.

Outside the tower, they headed straight to the family altar, where the secret exit of the city was hidden.

On reaching the altar, they saw one of the Devil's race members. She was standing in front of the altar. Seeing the trio arrive, she pulled out her weapon: a trident.

"You have managed to steal away some of your younger ones. Too bad you won't be stealing out any other young rascal again," the female devil said with a cruel smile on her lips. She looked very attractive and sexy.

Three imps appeared and stood by herself.

Turning to Javis, Dai Xin threw Baili to him. "When the opportunity arrives, leave with him. I will stall her."

"Aunt," he couldn't help but call out. Dai Xin didn't answer. Javis kept silent. In short, Javis could be considered from the younger generation, barely twenty and also from the human race.

It was just that he was so talented that one couldn't help but forget that he was not from the older generation. He was already in the third level of the origin realm.

Dai Xin created an energy barrier shielding them to avoid harm. Her body contracted as she transformed into a werewolf fey beast.

The two imps pounced on her, but she remained unfazed as she punched. Her punch contained spirit energy. The two imps were no match for her; they flew like a broken kite landing on the ground with broken bones.

The female devil struck with her trident, and Dai Xin intercepted with her claws. She made a grab for the devil's throat. The two exchanged blows with no one coming out on top.

The female devil called out the inferno fire, but Dai Xin was unfazed. She struck out with the Dai family special arts "Claw of the Undying Wolf," a heavy, gigantic claw looking majestic and powerful, powered by her spiritual energy. The claw made a dash for the female devil. She wasn't able to dodge on time and was clawed mercilessly. Her body was filled with blood and claw marks.
