The Power To Protect

"Stay focused!" Vegeta yelled as hit punched Akuma in the jaw and he flew back before quickly recovering while rubbing his jaw, "What's so important that you can't pay attention?"

"Why is it that me and Caulifla were able to become this strong but the other Saiyans of Universe Six have issues with just Super Saiyan?" Akuma asked as he watched Caulifla and Goku spar in the distance and Vegeta found it strange as well, "We more or less confirmed that me having a tail was why I was able to become so strong so quickly but Caulifla has kept up with us just as easily. Hell she reached Super Saiyan God during a normal sparring session and she got Blue while we were fighting Broly. We needed training to get those forms yet she did with pure will power."

"So you think she had a tail as well?" Vegeta asked him as they landed and Akuma gave him a nod, "It's entirely possible that she did but the only way to find out for sure would be to use the Dragon Balls and it takes a year for them to work again."

"Namek should have a set right? Goku can bring us there and we could find out." Akuma said as Goku and Caulifla finished their fight and he flew to them, "I'm pretty sure I'm wrong so this is just to confirm my suspicions."

"What are you guys talking about?" Caulifla asked as she and Goku flew to them and they could tell Akuma was deep in thought. She flicked him in the forehead and he looked up in surprise.

"Hey Goku could you bring us to your Namek?" Akuma asked quickly and the older Saiyan gave him a confused nod. He felt Caulifla's power spike and saw a look of annoyance on her face.

"Why do you suddenly want to go to Namek?" Caulifla asked him in a stern tone and he sighed while rubbing the back of his head. He explained his suspicions and after Caulifla regained her thoughts they left for Namek. They couldn't believe their eyes as they teleported near a group of Namekians with several soldiers aiming blasters at them. The Namekians were surprised when the soldiers were taken down by four blurs in the blink of an eye and hope filled their eyes when they saw Goku and Vegeta standing in front of them.

"What's going on here?" Akuma asked as he helped one of them stand before they felt an evil presence in the distance but it disappeared as soon as they noticed it, "That power was insane!"

"Caulifla!" Goku yelled as an alien suddenly appeared with its arm pulled back and they watched with wide eyes as blood splattered on the ground.

"He took the attack for you?" The alien asked as he pulled his hand out of Akuma's back and his body fell limply to the ground, "That was a brave but foolish thing to do."

"Who the hell are you?!" Vegeta asked as he and Goku went into Blue and Caulifla held back her rage as she fed Akuma a Senzu Bean. The alien grinned as he turned to face the angry Saiyans and Caulifla sighed in relief when Akuma began to breath.

"My name is Zero and I'm the dominator of the universe. I had been searching for the strongest beings before I heard of the wish granting orbs these people had in their possession and I was going to use them to find an opponent worthy of my greatness but it seems like that wish was unnecessary since you came to me." Zero explained with a sadistic look before Goku slammed a fist into his face and sent him flying into a plateau.

"Something's off about this guy!" Goku yelled as Zero's power rose dramatically and they saw the plateau explode with dark energy.

"I'm going to need a moment before I can help you guys." Akuma told them as he woke up and Zero flew towards them with a wicked smile on his face.

"Can you guys try to drag him away from here while I get Akuma and those Namekians to safety?!" Caulifla asked as she helped Akuma up and Goku and Vegeta met Zero halfway. She could immediately tell that one Senzu Bean wasn't going to be enough to replenish Akuma's lost energy as she quickly carried him away from the fight with the Namekians close behind her. Once she decided they were far enough away she pulled another Senzu Bean from the pouch and Akuma grabbed her hand before she could give it to him.

"It'll be smarter to save them for yourselves." Akuma told her with a serious tone and she gave him a soft look as she put the bean away, "It felt like he took my energy but I'm not sure how."

"We can bring him back to full strength!" One of the Namekians told her as he kneeled next to Akuma and a warm light began to emit from his hands, "If what he says is true then those two need all the help they can get!"

"Right! I need to tell them about that guy's ability!" Caulifla yelled as she took off and Akuma laid down as he was being healed. Akuma watched the planet that orbited around Namek and he felt a pulsing in his chest and he quickly pushed the Namekian away.

"You need to leave now!" Akuma ordered as he tried to delay his transformation and they quickly got away from him when they felt his energy change.

"Go Super Saiyan!" Caulifla yelled as she flew towards the fight and Goku gave her a confused look while Vegeta kept Zero busy, "Akuma said he can absorb our energy!"

"Got it!" Goku said as he powered down to Super Saiyan Two and kicked Zero in the chest, sending him crashing to the ground and they didn't feel his energy rise again, "Vegeta she's right!"

"Dammit!" Vegeta yelled as he went Super Saiyan Two as well and the three of them charged Zero. Their attacks were having more of an effect on him but they could tell he was still drawing energy from them. All four of them were too caught up in the fight to notice the Great Ape flying towards them and Akuma's giant arm slapped them away like flies. He roared loud enough to shake the ground before he began to attack all four of them without restraint.

"You dare lay a hand on me beast?!" Zero yelled as he delivered a fierce uppercut to Akuma's chin and he put his arms up when Akuma fired an energy attack from his mouth, causing Zero to hit the ground and forming a large trench. Akuma began to pound his chest as he roared again and Caulifla flew in front of Akuma's face with her arms outstretched.

"Get a hold of yourself!" Caulifla screamed at him and he seemed to calm down a bit before Zero kicked her to the ground hard enough to cause a crater. Goku and Vegeta braced for the worst as Akuma's power skyrocketed with a monstrous roar and their eyes widened when a bright light enveloped him. When the light faded they saw that Akuma had returned to his normal size but he had red fur covering his entire body except for his face and chest and his hair had grown longer and more wild.

"You're gonna die for that." Akuma told Zero in a rough voice as anger burned in his now yellow eyes.
