Moved Without Thinking

Was was Eugine suppose to say? That he thinks talking is a waste of energy? He got a feeling that he shouldn't say things like that to Jamie.

"Anyway, who's bastard would do this and upload it in the school forum? That bastard must be sick." Justin commented.

They all looked at each other and shrugged.

"Everyone, get back to your seats."

When they saw that the teacher for the class arrived, they all frantically looked at the phone. Justin immediately hid his phone under his desk and discreetly deleted the video. It would be bad news if the teacher found out that they watched a video like that in school.

They all settled down in their seats and the teacher started the lesson.

Mira stared outside the window restlessly before looking at Kang Jun. Kang Jun may appear friendly to all people but she knew better. She have known him for a long time after all. She knew that despite looking and acting so friendly, Kang Jun dont see anyone as a friend easily. For him to find someone worth being friendly to, that means that person must be good enough to pique his interest. And right now, that girl is in trouble.

If Kang Jun was so sure that she could never do that, then it must be true.

But more than that, what worries Mira more is that... There was no incident that happened like this in the past that she remembers. She has completely no idea what to do.

What changed?

"Everyone listen." Their teacher for the last class said upon entering their room. "You might already know about this, but this morning, a sensitive video was uploaded at the school forum. Now remember this, watching, forwarding and even talking about the content of the video is extremely forbidden. Anyone who will be caught having that video and forwarding it will receive a heavy punishment, a suspension or expulsion."

Upon hearing that, the whole class went cold. Mira was going to look at Justin but Jamie stopped her and force her to look in front.

"Dont look at anyone. Just stare in front." Jamie whispered under her breath.

That's when Mira noticed that the teacher was looking at each of them and checking their expression. Mira force her face to look blank and unbothered.

The teacher continued talking. "All teachers will be having a meeting at this period. We will not be having a class. You're free to do anything you want to do, except to go out of the school and leave early. You're all grown ups, be responsible. That's all."

After saying his piece, the teacher left. Nobody moved for a minute, when they were sure that he wont be coming back, everybody took out their phone frantically.

"... That was scary." Sophie said before slapping Justin's arm.

"What? I already deleted it." Justin said in defense.

Mira looked around the classroom. Everyone was talking in hushed voices. Well, it wasn't surprising. For a star student, a suspension or expulsion is a stain in the record they could never afford. Mira watched as her classmates leave the classroom to do what they want.

"We're free until classes end. What are you doing?" Luigi asked.

"Im going to my club to practice." Justin said before taking his bag.

"I'll go too." Luigi said.

"Then what about you?" Mira asked the rest.

Eugine took his bag. "I'll go to the Library."

"I need to look for someone." Kang Jun suddenly said.

Jamie glanced at him. "Can I go with you? Mira, you have nothing to do right? Come with us."

Its true the Mira has nothing to do. She nodded. They were all about to leave when Mira suddenly remembered something.

"You guys go first. I will just take the banner that we hung this morning in the rooftop." She said.

"Right, I almost forgot about it. I'll go with you."

"No need." Mira declined. "You will look for that girl, right? You guys go first. I will follow."

Kang Jun and Jamie looked at each other. "Okay. We'll text you where we are."

On the way to the rooftop, Mira passed by Class 3-E. She noticed that there were lots of students peeking inside the classroom.

"Its here, right, the girl in the video."

"Right. Man, I wished i could see how she looked like in person. That video was something else." A student snickered.

Mira had goosebumps. These students were talking about that girl knowing nothing, even though there was no confirmation that its Hannah who is in the video. It was horrible. She realized that to these people, it doesn't matter if its true or not. All that matter is that they have something to talk about. She doubled her pace in walking, not wanting to hear anymore.

Meanwhile, Eugine was walking towards the library. He always ignore his surroundings but today, it seems harder to do so. The whole school is buzzing that even if he wanted to ignore everthing, he cant. Even without trying to focus, he can hear the conversations around him.

As expected, most of it are all about the video that was uploaded in the forum. Hearing the conversations around him, Eugine frowned. Although he was bothered, there's nothing he can do about it.

Suddenly, an even louder commotion started in front of the main building. The Library is beside the main building, so Eugine ignored the commotion and continued walking.

"Is that a student? There, at the rooftop." Somebody asked.

"What are you saying? The rooftop is always locked, how would someone get in there?"

Eugine stopped walking. The rooftop? It must be Mira then. She had the key.

"What is she doing there? I cant see her face. Who is that?"

"Hey... What is she doing??!!!" Another student said in panic.

"Is she going to jump?!"

Eugine's body suddenly went cold. He ran in front of the main building to look.

There, standing at the edge of the rooftop, was a girl wearing their school uniform. The main building has four floors with the rooftop as its fifth so they cant see her face clearly. Moreover, she is looking upward at the sky, her hair and skirt fluttering in the wind.

Before he could even think, Eugine's body moved, running towards the stairs to climb.
