The Runaway Husband

In the dark underworld of power and influence, Evelyn Grey reigns supreme. Known as a nightmare, Evelyn's wrath can obliterate lives in the blink of an eye. At 26, she is the epitome of ruthless success, owning numerous gas stations and hotels, and wielding control over the illegal underbelly of society. With a pretty face that hides a demonic fury, Evelyn is a force to be reckoned with, leaving devastation in her wake whenever angered. Contrasting sharply with Evelyn’s menacing presence is Hazel, a 17-year-old boy whose beauty is matched only by his purity and kindness. With hazel eyes and an innocent demeanor, Hazel embodies everything good and gentle in the world. Recently graduated from high school, he is eager to embark on a new chapter of his life at university, embodying the dreams and aspirations of youth. Their worlds collide in an unexpected twist of fate, where power meets innocence, and darkness clashes with light. As Evelyn's shadow looms over Hazel's life, will his purity be tainted by her darkness, or will his kindness illuminate a path to redemption for the both of them? "The Runaway Husband" explores the delicate balance between love and power, and the unexpected ways in which two seemingly opposite souls can influence each other's lives.

Stepping Out of the Bubble

Hazel

Tummmmm Tummmmm Tummmmm

I open my eyes to look at wall . 7:30 AM

Oh! no I have two hours to reach collage I can't believe today is my first day and I woke up late again .

I got freshened and climb downstairs, I saw mom talking to someone, workaholic.

I entered the dining room. Dad was eating breakfast, I when I enter I took a seat next to him.

"So early my Dumbo" teased dad

"Good morning to you too " I greeted him.

"I am leaving " said mom entering the room she looked at me .

"Hazel sit properly" she scolded me pointed me at my legs . I have habit of sitting cross-legged. I immediately sat properly.

"Mom can you drop me to college ?" I asked

"Sure " she said calmly.

I left for college with mom after breakfast.

All eyes were on me as I climbs out of the car and steps toward college.

Hazel makes his way thru students who stare openly. They're all talking about him. Giving him weird looks . Hazel wanders the walkways looking for room numbers, lost.

Constant stares at hazel , making him nervous .

He enters his class As hazel moves to the professor with his class slip, he notes , professor gestures to the only empty seat... next to a boy he was good looking sun kissed skin with blonde hair .

The boy introduce himself

" Hi, I'm Tom"

" Hazel"

We shook hands

"Cool, looks like I made first friend in college " - Tom said

"Same here " we giggled

College is scary

That's what I've learnt today . When people told me it wasn't going to be as nice and 'safe' as secondary school, they weren't kidding. It's like this imaginary bubble that I've had for ages has suddenly been popped and I'm no longer considered a child but rather a 'young adult' and let me tell you, it's been a real struggle.

First off, there were things that I did in secondary that were completely acceptable like running to the lunch hall to get there first or going outside and playing football. Now being older it has done complete turn around because apparently it's 'weird' and ' uncivilized' for 17 years old's to run around like children just to get the first brownie before they're all gone in the first minute.

You go from completely sheltered to heartbreakingly independent within a blink and it makes you miss the good times. From making fun of English teacher to the end of year to eleven prom where everyone's holding each other hands just wanting the moment to last a little longer.
