Chapter Eighteen: Christophe

"Goodnight Gray," I tell Grayson while tucking him in. Lloyd went to Lisa, his wife's, grave to drop fuchsias, her favourite flower like he did every Saturday since she died. I took an elevator to the couples' suite. I take a deep breath and open the door before freezing in my spot. Carmen was sleeping and had probably kicked the blanket off. She was only wearing a bra and underwear and was turned away from me, giving me a full view of her voluptuous ass.

My sweatpants suddenly felt very snug.

I went over to her and tried to cover her with the blanket, but she kept tossing and turning. I give a frustrated sigh, before turning around ready to leave.

"Don't leave," I hear her whisper. I turn around again. she was turned to me, but her eyes were closed. Finally thinking I imagined it, I turn around.

"Please stay. I love you. Don't leave, I'm scared. I need you."

At this point, I know I'm not imagining things, she said she loved me. I was ecstatic, and so was Lucas, but I tried to act composed, even though she couldn't see me, I got into bed with her and she snuggled close. I wrapped my arms around her tiny body, and she puts one of her legs over mine. I fell asleep with a dumb fucking grin on my face.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I wake up to a high pitched scream. I jolt awake as Carmen tries to push herself away from me.

"What are you doing here?" she asks.

"You asked me to," I said groggily.

"No, I didn't," she crossed her arms, glaring at me. God she glares so much.

"Yes you did, you begged me to stay, you even told me you loved me."

"I was dreaming, I wasn't talking about you. I don't love you," she says blushing hard.

That struck a nerve.

"I-I-I didn't mean that. I just don't know you yet," she tries to explain herself, but I cot her off.

"I've heard enough," and I left. Grayson's probably is still asleep, so I head to pack grounds instead. Sarah meets me at the entrance of the sparring area.

"Hey, Chris," she starts, but I don't acknowledge her as I enter. I find Jesse and Xavier and pull them aside.

"So when are we going to meet Mrs. Christophe?" Jesse jokes and I harshly shove him, causing him to laugh uncontrollably.

"She's so confusing, last she tells me she loves me, this morning she says she doesn't love me!"

"Ouch," Xavier winces.

"Ha!" Jesse mocks me. "Imagine your mate telling you she doesn't love you!"

"I'll chop off your dick and feed it to you," I say, enraged.

"Calm down," he says, whipping out his phone. "I've tried looking for her, she's a ghost man. No Insta, no Tiktok, no snap, she doesn't even have Facebook! I found her sister though, and she's hot af," he shows me a couple of pictures from Instagram. She was good-looking, but not half as good-looking as Carmen.

I got bored and decided to spar a little, so I called the biggest guy and we got into position. We were about to start, when we heard a scream, from the shooting range.

"Amber," I hear Xavier say, before running out, with Jesse and I following.

"The babies," she panted, holding her stomach. there was a pool of water under her feet. "They're coming!"
