RELEGATED TO DIVISION ONE

The young English lads were doing a lot of training and also eat a certain diet to help them keep fit. They were now supposed to prove it on the ground. The last 3 games were crucial for them to win if they were to have any chances of survival. On match day 36 they were playing against the team second on the table Gremlin FC. The advantage was they were playing on home soil, with the home fans. The young lads had all the support since even all of their parents were watching from the stands. Stefan knew he had to step up during the most important moments if his team was to collect all the points. It reached 2;30pm and the game started. Birmingham were dominating the play. The hard work they had put in the last couple of weeks was now showing on the pitch. They opened the scoring in the 10th minute and finished the first half on top. Stefan understood his role as a creative and he did so playing in his right position as a 10. They immediately scored after the game resumed, and Stefan converted from the spot kick to seal the 3 points. They immediately went to check on the table to see if they had moved from the drop zone. They saw they had reduced the points and put pressure on their opponents. Stefan's contract was almost coming to and, it was expiring in the summer. The pundits were quick to ask the little kid if he considered a move away the next summer? Stefan knew what they were trying to do and he told them he is focused on Birmingham only. He had dodged that question like a pro. Everyone was proud of the team and they were applauded as they left to the dressing room. They had two crucial games to prepare for. They continued with the intensive training and the diet. They were able to beat Crystal palace on the return leg thanks to a brace by Stefan. He put up a man of the match performance and destroyed his former team. He was given the man of the match award. They were now remaining with one game to finish the season. The fate of the team was not in their own hands they were supposed to pick up a win and expect a loss for the team in number 17 so that they survive. All the games were being played on the same time and day. That was a tradition in England. The games were being played on Sunday at 5;30pm. Once again Birmingham were playing on home soil and they had so much pressure on them. They were up against Black pool Fc. It was a high pressing team. When the game began Birmingham were being pressed so much until they could not posses the ball. They were just making mistakes with the ball and clearing their lines. In the first half they conceded two quick goals towards the end. At half time the home fans were quiet and also at the dressing room they were confused. Stefan came up with a solution to that high pressing, they were to sit back soak the pressure and wait to pounce on the counter attack. They had to make changes at half time and bring on players with pace. Stefan had to drop into midfield to help with the long passes. It was now time to resume the game. Black pool came with the same intention to attack and seal their victory. The bad thing was this time their code was cracked. Birmingham were playing defense as they loop balls forward. They got to pull one back and the crowd was behind them. The home fans were cheering them. There were a lot of whistles around the stadium. Soon they received a free kick outside the 18 yard box. The good thing was they had good free kick takers Stefan being one of them. It was on the right hand side and Stefan was left footed so it was a good place for him to try. He saw an opportunity to go low instead of aiming for the top corner. As soon as he took the shot he knew he had scored. Stefan went for power and he hit the bottom corner. The keeper was left stunned he just watched as it entered. Stefan did not celebrate he picked the ball and placed it at the center so that they saved on time. The game became boring for a while since there were no chances at both ends. The game now was almost coming to an end the referee added 8 minutes. The coach asked his team to try set pieces. They had to bring numbers forward to try and see if they could win the game. The wing backs were bringing in crosses from both flanks. They were failing to hit the back of the net. They got a corner which was the last kick of the game. Stefan was the one taking the corner. He saw the way to beat the goal keeper. He crossed it the other side and the keeper failed to catch the ball. It was easily headed in. Everyone was happy the fans ran inside the pitch to celebrate the goal. The game even did not continue there were all smiles in the pitch. It was an incredible comeback for the home side. The bad thing was they suffered relegation. The fans were still happy with the performance. Stefan got to win the player of the month.
