Chapter 14(The Hard Lesson)
Really, the receptionist is a piece of craps and bollocks. Luckily for her Nathan isn't ready for another drama, he is already exhausted.
He moved to the men section where he started picking cloths of his choice. All he wanted was just a couple of wears.
As he goes up and down in selection of his wears he heard noise emanating from where the receptionist was.
At first he thought it to be an illusion but when he saw the other customers heading towards the scene he then knew that this is reality.
He minded his business and continues his cloth selections. he is almost done.
After his selection then he headed to the counter to pay for his clothes just then he saw the gathered crowd. He guessed that it must be due to the noise he heard earlier.
As he drew near to the scene he saw the same receptionist who rudely welcomed him earlier shouting and holding a young girl who was on a cleaning uniform. From her appearance one could surely tell that she is a janitor.
"What could be the issue this time?" Nathan thought to himself. He was filled with pity for the young girl who was in tears pleading the arrogant and awful receptionist.
"How dare you? do you know who I am? Who gave you the audacity to stain and destroy my wear?!"
The receptionist who wore a tag on her left breast with the name Miss Stella yelled as she holds the young girl.
"I am sorry ma..."
"Shut up you dung, smelling piece of shit. Do you know how much this wear is worth even your life earnings won't be able to afford it" she thundered furiously.
"Tuah!Tuah!"
Two very hot slap landed on the young girl's chin who then wailed in pains. This was enough to make Nathan to swing into action.
He couldn't help but wonder why the people watching didn't intervene. Not even a single person. they seemed to be enjoying the show, videoing and recording the scene.
"What's the issue here? why are you harassing this young girl?" Nathan asked with keen interest.
"You again stay out of this" Miss Stella reprimands.
Just then she raised her hand up to slap the girl again
"If you dare touch this girl again you will regret ever coming into this world".
Nathan roared visibly annoyed and this made his veins and muscle strained. His demeanor impacted a ripple effect of fear to everyone present.
It was like the roar of a lion to its pack. Miss Stella needed no one to tell her that this man mean everything.
Miss Stella is one of the longest serving staff in the boutique. She is in her late thirties but yet unmarried not even divorced for once.
Her rude attitude and annoying attics was enough to send any one packing.
She undermines her fellow colleagues let alone those who were under her. She at any given time always like to show her power and in the process humiliates them.
She likes her subordinates to fear and worship her as god but this didn't go well with the twenty years girl.
The young girl was one of the very few individuals that stands against her especially in terms of respect.
The young girl detest her egoistic and misanthropic personality hence she do not give her the very respect that others accorded to her.
Miss Stella has since noticed the appalling and grotesque attitude towards her hence swore to deal with her.
Unfortunately for Miss Stella the young girl was a diligent and hardworking person who was very dedicated to her work hence she was able to stay clear from Miss Stella traps and snares.
She has been on Miss Stella's black list but Just when she was about to give up on getting her revenge the young girl then failed woefully into her trap.
The young girl mistakenly poured her dirty water. She was oblivious that Miss Stella was passing behind her after she was done using the restroom.
At first Miss Stella reacted based on instinct but seeing that it was her long time enemy she then decided to utilize the very little opportunity to deal with her.
'Here she is, her plans going well until this strange guy appeared from nowhere (Nathan)' she thought to herself
Stella on seeing that her plans was about to be ruined then immediately devised another antic at least to humiliate the man and the girl.
She then insisted that the girl will pay for her cloth which she claimed was worth $1 million.
Heaven knows that her cloth was not even up to half of that amount.
She undermined Nathan especially based on his dressing. To her, Nathan will surely scamper to safety on the mention of the amount. He was definitely a pauper who was on an errand for whoever was his master.
Miss Stella is a very evil crafty woman. Very fast in thinking and at same time smart hence this attributes has kept her through the ranks despite her unattractive personality.
On hearing the amount the girl cried more, where can she get that amount of money infact she wasn't even sure of touching that amount in her life.
She was surely doomed and at that instant she regretted ever challenging Miss Stella. Her rebellious wit is about to swallow her.
She knelt down begging Miss Stella who was standing on akimbo panting and stamping her feet on the ground in a repeated fashion.
She was very pleased with the reaction it was all as she envisioned for a long time now but mercy wasn't one of them. Mercy! no way she won't show any
"Call your account digits" Nathan asked non chalantly as he brought out his phone.
These statements coupled with the ice cold tone from Nathan sent the watching crowd murmuring. They surely can't believe it. The poorly dressed guy about to pay a fucking million won for someone he just met.
"Cap he is just kidding" a thuggish looking guy stated
"Unreal are you sure he had her correctly " a lady commented with bewilderment.
"This is surely a prank where is the fucking camera "another man yelled
The whole crowd was taken aback likewise the dancing Mantis Stella.
"I said a million dollars " she saif but this time in a less confident tone.
"Are you calling it or not" Nathan asked
The young girl still on her knees had her mouth open in a gaping fashion. She couldn't believe it her eyes, a million dollars for her. She is very sure that she has never met the man before.
She thought that by now the very handsome looking guy would have fled on hearing the amount. He doesn't look like one that could be in possession of such amount let alone giving out for the sake of someone he just met.
Stella called her digits and in few seconds a notification sound dinged in her phone. A fucking million dollars. She was baffled and at same time ashamed.
She was now humiliated in her own game but little did she know that this was just a tip of what was to come.
