chapter 14 : Meeting Capricorn

Claire Aberdeen entered the office of Minister Capricorn Salem. Out of the six close confidantes of Commander Daniel, he is the most Mysterious and the least friendly one.

He seemed to only regard Daniel and had always been dismissive of the rest.

The definition of Capricorn is different for different people.

For the other politicians, he is a python, waiting for the moment when the prey is near him to catch it with his mouth and could around him to retrain his movement and then engulf him, leaving no proof of his very existence.

For the high class people and VIPs of the Eden Garden, he is a greedy person but someone who could get their work done with slight relaxation of the laws and hence their best ally.

For the people outside Eden, he is the saint who always help the people in need and makes sure that everyone can sleep with a completely filled stomach. He is the angel for them.

For Daniel, he is a trustworthy and reliable friend who wouldn't betray his trust. He is ambitious and does not hide this trait of his. He makes sure that his goal is reached no matter what the consequences he had to face or other's face due to this. No one knows why Danuel trust Capricorn and whenever anyone ask why he trust him so much, He only smiles mysteriously.

For his other confidantes of Daniel, they think of him as someone with whom they should watch their back and he is someone woth whom you should have a backdoor or else you will suffer badly.

As she entered the office she saw the decorations of the office.

It was pretty plain. The walls of the room were in shades of red with golden borders. The walls had paintings of various famous people of the past and famous leaders of the City of Duravel.

The room was pretty large. As there were couple of sofas placed at corner of the room for sitting and each capable of allowing more than six people yet they barely covered less than a tenth if the room area.

There were two large windows which allowed the rays of the sun to illuminate the room. At the exact equal distance from the two windows with the back facing the wall was the target, Capricorn Salem sat.

There was a large 10 * 7 feet long table in front if his chair with pen stand, paper weights and different documents placed on the table. It was an elegant and beautifully manufactured table along with the chair on which he sat.

The chairs placed around the table weren't so grand as the table and chair. It was a simple chair with worn out chair cloth drapping it.

It doesn't seem like Capricorn likes to entertain guests which perfectly match with the view of what most people had about him.

" Are you going to keep standing, Secretary Aberdeen?" Capricorn emotionless voice rang in the room.

This brought her to her senses and she greeted him," Minister Salem, I am asked by Commander Daniel ...."

Before she could finish what she started Capricorn rose from his seat leaving his documents in the middle of his work and said," I know why Daniel sent you here."

When he rose from the chair, Claire got the complete look at Capricorn.

Capricorn looks like a middle-aged man with tousled silver hair and thin brown eyes. He has a light complexion and sharp facial features. Interestingly, he has black eyebrows, and from what she heard from Commander he had black hair when he was younger.

He wears shaded glass spectacles and a small, purple, cross-shaped pin on the cowl around his neck. His outfit mainly consists of an unzipped black suit over a dark green, buttoned vest and green shirt. He also wears black trouser shoes and long, dark-green pants. In addition to his cane, his other frequent accessory is a from which he drinks hot black coffee.

The coffee cup, cane as well as the silver hair was the symbol of identity of Minister Capricorn Salem.

" I know what he feels about as he informed me this, yet I am curious what was so serious that he had to send you here. You are one of his most trusted and this makes me even more curious about what he knows." Although he said he was curious his voice was still as plain and didn't seem to show his emotions.

Claire didn't say anything else and placed a sealed envelope on the table.

Capricorn picked it up without fear and not caring if it might be dangerous to open a letter without checking whether it is safe or not.

He broke the seal and unfolded the letter.

As he read the letter, his earlier emotionless face changed. He currently wore a serious look and his powers were coming to play.

Claire herself was a grandmaster warrior yet in front of Capricorn she was feeling helpless as if she would die the next moment.

" Are you sure Daniel wrote the letter and it wasn't swapped?" He asked her with a glare.

Claire managed to steady herself and said," Commander knew that you might say something like this and told me to tell you that, it follows the same pattern as the ones of those times. "

She doesn't understand what it means but it might be a secret code or identity mark between the two.

He once again scanned the letter and then gently placed it on the table. He had calmed down now and withdrew his powers.

Claire remembered once again that including the Commander, Sebastian and Capricorn are two of the spirit warriors in the Duravel City.

He slowly head for his chair and sat down. He sipped his coffee and after a couple of sips placed the mug on the table.

He massaged his forehead and said,

"He still likes to drop bombs. I know why he sent you personally and didn't tell me everything the the phone.

Did he reveal anything to you about the letter?" He asked Claire.

" No he didn't say anything. He told me that you will reveal everything I need to know after you have read the letter." Claire answered truthfully.

"Yes he did mention it in the letter to reveal you something but not everything. " He said which twirling the chair towards the window to look outside.

" Don't be sad about the fact that he isn't telling you everything. What the letter mentioned is very grave and is related to the very existence if the Duravel City.

Not even the Titan wall could protect us if the situation is as grave as he feel.

You are his Personal Secretary and Assistant. You don't have enough control on your emotions and facial expressions to keep things hidden.

Your face is an open book to anyone who knows just what to look at. And hence the more you know the more liability you will become. " Capricorn explained.

" And how did you know this, sir?" She asked rudely

" When you reached my office tour face tell everything. He needed to test you against a complete stranger who won't have mercy on you since he know you.

That's the other reason for your arrival here. To verify how much information could be revealed to you and all things.

But I am sorry to say you could only get 40 percent of the complete information I have pertaining to this situation."

" And what information does my performance earn me?" She directly asked ignoring all formalities and respect for her superior.

Capricorn ignored it or ignored it due to Daniel no one knows, but he revealed something," There us a traitor among the higher ups."

Glossory 3 :

Death Hounds

They are the monstrous black dog with large teeth and claws.

Size : Adults are four metres long from nise to tail And two meters tall from foot to head.

Attribute: Dark.

They can hide in the shadows and if present in group of more than ten then they could surround their prey in a lightless plane.

They would use their nose to find their in this absolute darkness.

They mostly live in packs for security purposes and follow a make alpha. There are males in the pack too but if they disobey the leader their only outcome is death.

Their pack ranges from Fifty to seventy.

They hunt in packs and are protective of their young ones.
