The conversation with William II went smoothly. They not only agreed on Germany's financial aid to Australia, but also roughly outlined a series of plans for industrial and future war assistance.
At least in William II's eyes, he had successfully tied Australia to the German war chariot, and Germany would have one more ally in future wars.
Arthur and William II agreed to visit Germany in mid-December. If the negotiations went well, they could have a nice Christmas in Germany before returning to Australia.
However, before going to Germany, there was one slightly important matter to settle, which was the aid treaty with Britain.
Although Britain would certainly not be as generous as Germany, for Arthur, free aid was too good to pass up. Of course, it would be best to receive as much as possible.
