Teacher

At this moment, a figure walked in the door of the classroom. It was a middle-aged man with stylish shiny black hair with slight curls and red eyes. He wore black suit with a red tie, a black top hat and black leather shoes.

His eyes seemed to radiate light from his red pupils as his gaze swept across the students. His lips then curled up to a faint smile as if he had a good impression on the students.

Rick scrutinized the figure in front of him but his expression didn't change one bit. He wasn't able to sense anything from the figure in front of him, as if he was just an ordinary person but he didn't think it was anything strange.

This is Hakono Academy and there are all sorts of people. He only thought that the figure was impressive and he intentionally hid his aura.

"Pleased to meet you all. I am Harry Woods, the teacher for the Foundations of Magic course" the figure said as he grabbed his tophat and performed a bow with style.

The eyes of a few students lit up when the teacher introduced himself as their eyebrows frowned while some looked at him with a hint of disdain from their eyes.

Rick's gaze was focused on the teacher so he didn't notice the disapproving looks of the students beside him.

Bang!

Suddenly, a loud bang rang from behind. Rick was taken aback by the sudden sound and turned his head. He saw the figure of a brown haired student in white robes who stood up with his fist on the table.

"How could you be our teacher? This is the First section, the section of the most elite students of Hakono Academy! You are not qualified to teach us anything!" the brown haired student shouted.

"That's right. You don't even have mana, how could someone who couldn't wield magic teach us anything?" another voice rang out from the sides.

Rick turned his head and saw a black haired woman in a red dress. He then turned his gaze back to the teacher and his eyes lit up in realization.

'So that's why I couldn't sense anything from him. It's not that he's some expert who intentionally hid his aura. It's just that he wasn't blessed with mana to begin with.' Rick thought to himself as he recalled a certain loud gray haired character from his previous life.

"Our topic for today is about mana. What is mana? Anyone?" the teacher said as his gaze scanned the surrounding students but no one bothered to raise their hand.

'He straight out ignored their complaints. But well, I'll see how this goes. In any case, the Academy chose him to be our teacher so there must be something more to him than on the surface. Maybe he's a really good teacher despite not being a mage himself' Rick thought to himself as his right eye twitched.

Seeing that no one raised answered him, "Mana is a supernatural force that permeates everything. It can be said to be a source of energy for mages to cast spells, increase physical attributes, power up formations and seals. It is basically what runs the magic world" the teacher proceeded.

Bang!

A loud bang once again rang out from behind, prompting the teacher to stop for a moment.

"Tch, I don't accept this. I'm out" the brown haired student said as he stood up. He walked through the door and loudly banged the door as he walked away.

"Anyone or anything can have mana-" the teacher added after the student walked away.

"Yeah, right. Anyone, except you" the black haired woman said with a mocking tone as disdain could be written from her expression as she looked at the teacher. Sounds of laughter can be heard from the surrounding students.

'I guide others to a treasure I cannot possess' Rick thought to himself as he laughed inwardly.

The teacher, however, just continued his lesson despite the blatant looks of disdain and mocking remarks from the students. There were only a few who listened to him attentively.

Rick's eyes were locked onto the teacher but he was actually just staring into space. He wasn't among those few who listened attentively but he would occasionally listen to the teacher's words. He only turned his attention to the teacher when he heard something new.

After all, he can be considered to have learned a little bit of the basics of magic from Teacher Narlie.

The teacher proceeded with his lesson until the bell rang loudly.

"That would be all for today. See you for tomorrow's lesson" the teacher said as he walked away calmly and naturally, as if he wasn't mocked by the students earlier.

'Well, that was quite an impression' Rick thought to himself.

Rick then leaned closer to the right and whispered to his seatmate, "Hey, is he really that bad?"

His seatmate to the right side is a black haired young man in glasses with average looks.

"He can be considered to be a decent teacher. It's just that there are rumors about him having no mana" his seatmate replied as he touched his glasses.

"Just as I thought... Anyway, what's your name?" Rick asked.

"Before you ask someone else's name, you should give your name first." he replied calmly.

"My apologies. I'm Rick" Rick replied.

"Danny White" he replied as he touched his glasses.

It was at this moment that he turned his head around and met the gaze of a blue haired woman black robes on the left side. Rick smiled at her but she just rudely rolled her eyes and turned her head around.

'What the f**k? Girl, it was you who looked at me first and I just smiled out of politeness' Rick inwardly exclaimed as his mouth twitched.

Shortly afterwards, a figure of a woman walked through the door and stood in front of the students.

She had wavy knee-length creamy-blonde hair and bangs that covered her right eye. She wore a black dress with yellow stripes that seemed to blend with the color of her hair.

"Good morning everyone, I'm Isabel Larks, your teacher for Combat Theory course" the figure said with a soft voice as she flashed a smile.

In an instant, her smile caught the hearts of the male students in the classroom.
