Cataclysm

"Captain! What's going on?!" A knight clad in silver armor was panicking, unsure of what was happening and what to do. The usually calm and collected knight captain tried her best to try and hide the fact that she was feeling the effects of whatever catastrophe was going on. "Captain! The walls! They were destroyed at three different places at the exact same time! Sounds of explosions are coming from everywhere!" She didn't want to show it, the fact that she didn't know what was happening. Since as long as she can remember, people have always relied on her, her quick thinking and impressive strength. So to her, what would she think off herself if all she was "good for" suddenly vanished. If she suddenly wasn't the captain that everybody looked up to and adored. She knew that no matter what, she had to do something and quickly.

"Evacuate everybody! Get every single citizen to safety, hide them in the underground city if necessary! We can't afford more of us to die!" She screamed out at the to of her lungs, letting some of her emotions through. In her heart, she still cared very deeply for not only her comrades, but her friends, the citizen's and everybody living in the city to some extent. It didn't matter to her if she died, as long as she was the only one that had to. As long as everybody else could survive, she'd be happy. Despite her speech, some of the knights were still not fully convinced. They knew her better than most people, after all. They found it weird that the spot of evacuation would be the underground city, notiously dangerous for the demons that previously roamed around and controlled it. "...Yes, captain!" One of the knights finally responded, trying their best to trust the orders from their captain, despite how dangerous it could end up proving to be.

"I'll handle whatever monster it is this time! Even if it is a dragon! You guys go ahead and announce it to all the citizens! I'll go and-" She was immediately cut off by an entire building flying towards her, crashing into the surrounding buildings and streets at an impressive speed, considering it was a building. Her eyes widened out of surprisement before as quickly as possible pulling out her sword, swinging it at the building, parrying it while trying to stop the momentum of it as much as possible. "I'm fine! Go! Go! Go!" Despite the tremendous size of the building, she succesfully managed to parry it, despite being damaged slightly in the process. Now there was just one question which remained inside of her head. What in the actual fuck was going on in the city right now?!

Velios was completely locked in the fight, completely disregarding the surroundings. The creature was continuing chasing after Velios and trying to kill him as if it was a wild animal. It barely took any damage from Velios' attacks and even without magic, Velios is considerably stronger than dragons. Having landed a punch on the creature, slashes made out of his mana cutting in several directions but all it did was create small cuts on the durable skin of the creature. The creature in anger, retaliated by throwing yet another punch which Velios had no choice but to try and tank yet again. The situation for Velios was dire. He had already tried multiple tactics but something was weird. The creature was adapting to everything. The attacks got slightly less effective everytime Velios threw them and the creature seemed to only get stronger.

A barrage of the mana slashes came hurdling towards the creature but it made no attempt in trying to dodge them. The building behind it was cut up into hundreds of cubicle pieces but the creature, only recieved a few shallow cuts that healed back instantly. It's not enough. Not goot enough... I can do better! Velios met the creature and exhanged hundreds of punches and other strikes towards each other. Everything in their surrounding getting destroyed from the sheer power. The wind pressure from the strikes powerful enough to cut buildings in two, the dismantle and destroy trees leaving nothing left, they continued their exchange. Blood splattered everywhere and it was not from the creature. Despite the fact that it got hurt, the one who truly suffered was Velios. His healing abilities were reaching their limits and if he were to stop for even a second, his body couldn't move.

They were now fighting inside the city. People everywhere were dying as a result of their fight, mostly caused by the creature. Velios was continuing to unleash attack after attack, despite being damaged himself as a result. Velios could feel the pain and it would have been unbearable, but he's conditioned himself to be used to it. He kept punching it over and over, getting almost killed on multiple occasions, avoided it by a few inches at best. But then out of nowhere, something changed. Velios hadn't noticed it due to the strength, but the creature hadn't used mana or magic for that matter. Almost as if it couldn't, but now, out of nowhere it had begun attacking him while using mana, causing even more destruction to their surroundings. Before he knew it, Velios had been flung miles outside of the city from just a single one of its punches.

As the creature was running towards him, it was infront of him before he could even react, barely blocking the punch that was thrown towards him. The creature kept on chasing after Velios as quickly as he was outside of its range, continuing the onslaught. A single ball of fire was launched from Velios. It was small, many times smaller than the creature, the size of one of its eyes. Yet, as soon as it landed, its whole shoulder was instantly evaporated. The creature instantly became wary, backing off and turning its giant head to look at its wound before it healed right up, looking back up at Velios who was just standing there. An aura unlike before emitting from him, something was different. The creature rushed in and was right up in Velios' face again, swinging wildly to try and kill him. It had its eyes stuck on him, but he was suddenly gone. As if he wasn't there at all. The creature, confused, looked up and found Velios standing further back, holding his hand out.

Half of the creatures face was about to fall off, before it caught the severed piece. Still looking in Velios' direction but in a hurry, putting its half off the head back to where it would be before the wound closed up and healed, instantly. "I see..." Velios whispered out, but to no one other than himself. He didn't suspect the creature to be able to understand speech and not to his surprise, it payed no mind to what he said. It simply rushed for him again, punching him again further away before the creature got kicked in the side of the face, sending it flying away. Punch after punch, kick after kick, slash after slash, they kept on attacking each other, causing total destruction to their surroundings. The fight was now a lot more equal, but there was a huge problem. One of them was constantly adapting to everything, growing significantly stronger while one was nearing their limits.

How is it so tough? That thing probably doesn't know, but all of my bones in my body are broken. It's not helping that my healing basically doens't work right now. At this point, I might actually just die from mana overuse instead...What to do...? Velios was punched yet again and in the stomach this time, his body feeling like it would snap in two, coughing up blood while being sent farther away. But, as soon as the creature came towards him, Velios suddenly vanished. The creature looked around, confused as to where Velios could be before sensing something, something that even made the creature feel a slight hint of emotion. Fear.

The sky turned into a dark red color, consumed by the monstrous amount of mana that was constantly being released into the surrounding air, forming an absolutely gigantic, solid sphere of mana around them, covering a massive chunk out of the gargantuan forest. In the air, a sky ridden of clouds and instead covered and consumed by mana, was Velios seen floating in the air as if he was standing on it. "You sure are quite an annoying opponent to fight, aren't you? You regenerate, you adapt depending on the attacks you recieve and you have strength and durability stronger than Bhautik's, even though he's still only a superior dragon. So how does one beat someone such as you? That's simple. Just fire of a strong enough attack that no matter what, it will kill them in one blow."

The creature, sensing and fearing its own death, let out a blood curling shriek before jumping into the air, aiming at striking at Velios, hoping to stop his attack. The creature achieved speeds it has never reached before, faster than at any point in their fight, but it wasn't enough. It let its arm reach out towards Velios, as if to grab him but because of the massive amount of mana being constantly emitted, it felt like time itself was slowing down while the gravity was constantly being doubled, over and over again. With a last smile, Velios spared no mana for his final attack, having purposefully saved it as much as possible during their fight. And now, it was time for his most strongest, most powerful and most destructive technique. The same in which he killed a city of almost 100,000 dragons with. "Mana Cataclysm."

With a deep voice applied to everlasting words, a sentence which reeked of Velios' smile and happiness over finally getting to fight something so powerful. Something that could have truly killed him. Finally, everything around them incinerated, evaporated, leaving nothing inside of the sphere of mana. The attack caused a massive earthquake and the blast of the attack continued for hundreds of miles. It was an understatement to say that his attack caused major destruction to everything around him but it didn't come without side effects. Velios instantly fell down a few hundred meters, hitting the ground while creating a huge crater. ...I...Won...And I...Absorbed... it... Velios was on the verge of passing out, his whole body spent, his mana completely deleted and the bones in his body completely destroyed. Helplessly, he was now laying there. He could feel how all of his senses started disappearing, the energy in his body wearing out and his thoughts slowly dissipating before blacking out, assuming a completely unconscious state.
