Chapter 1

John's alarm went off before the sun could show its face. Today was going to be a special day. A Daddy Daughter fun day.

With a full smile and crazy morning hair John woke his young daughter Sasha from her deep slumber. Her rainbow unicorn slippers peeked out from underneath her ruffled mythical Unicorn blanket. A brown curly ball snaked out from the top of her blanket followed by her sleepy dazed face.

A grin formed, creasing her lips and fluffing her puffy checks, "I'm ready Daddy. Let me get dressed."

John left the room and closed the decorated door, covered in an explosion of cartoon characters and a huge elegant name tag reading 'Sasha's Room'. While Sasha dressed for the outing with John the house held a heavy silence. It was very early in the morning and Mommy and Son were sleeping deeply.

Within seconds John was greeting by a fully dressed and prepared Sasha, "Let's go find some treasure Daddy! It's time to get rich!" Her voice tried to yell but her excited brain wouldn't allow it. Quiet as a mouse they both traversed the stairs to begin their journey.

John grabbed the metal detectors as Sasha's soft hands grabbed two bags, one empty and the other stocked with water and snacks.

As the sun peeked out from the still landscape John and Sasha packed the supplies into the trunk of his bright blue Kia and made sure one final time that they were ready for the treasure hunt.

Before they left, "You ready Sasha? Are we missing anything?"

Looking around on the dew covered ground, "Nope. We're good to go dad."

Off they went, Sasha staring forward with a smirk on her face, her black hair pulled back tightly and held in place with a brand new red scrunchy. John changed the gears and headed towards the spot many have search but few have succeeded at finding treasure.
