Chapter 14

Sherlock was a small parrot. He was always picked on as a kid by the other bigger parrots. Well look at him now! In charge of a magical stone and helping a family.

Clearing his gullet, "Alright Roberts family, Ehhh, here's what's happening. You have, Ehhh, discovered one of three, Ehhh, magical stones in existence."

Sasha interrupted, "There are three of these? Where?"

Continuing on, "Two stones ended up, Ehhh, on Earth and another, Ehhh, is in a completely different galaxy, Ehhh."

John spoke up, "So I assume more black suited men will be showing up?"

Sherlock nodded, "Actually, one already, Ehhh, did. Detective Jones. Be careful, Ehhh, with that one."

Terry wanted her turn, "What are we supposed to do? How do we get rid of the stone?"

With a bird filled chuckle, "Why would you, Ehhh, want to get rid of, Ehhh, the stone!? It's the most powerful, Ehhh, entity on this world. It will truly, Ehhh, change your life, Ehhh."

Sasha listened intently, "Am I the chosen one? I am the chosen one!"

Sherlock flew around the room and landed back on Sasha's shoulder, "You are, Ehhh, Sasha. What you do with, Ehhh, the power is up to you, Ehhh. I do have a, Ehhh, request though."

Sasha smiled with pride and awaited instruction.

With a brief hesitation, "Well, Ehhh, you need to go, Ehhh, and save someone for me, Ehhh. She's with the, Ehhh, black suited folks, Ehhh."

Before John and Terry could object, "Deal! You wanna help me practice with this thing? Also, mom and dad, there's an island with a tiger in the top of the shed. Just an FYI."

With slack jaws and wondering minds, the family set off to take a peek at the tiger.

Sasha and Sherlock ran some training exercises in the house.

Sasha's first task was to unscrew the lightbulb from the table lamp without moving the lamp or its shade and without actually touching it.

This test took quite a while and when all looked lost, she did it. The lightbulb delicately unscrewed itself, floated to her open hand, and rested in her palm.

Sherlock chirped, "Now, Ehhh, light it up."

Sasha focused all her energy on the lightbulb. Every ounce of her brain power went into thinking about this lightbulb lighting up. It did not light up. Not even a flicker.

Chuckling, "No, no, Ehhh, no. Just touch it with, Ehhh, your other hand."

Simple as that, a touch of the finger and the bulb lit up brighter than it ever had before. Sasha felt no heat, no pain, she was simply lighting a lightbulb with her finger while she held it in her palm.

Nothing to see here.

That wasn't the only training she would have to do to prepare for this mission though.
