Chapter 6

Konoha shinobi academy.

A school for aspiring leaf shinobi and kunoichi. It was founded by the second hokage Tobirama Senju to prepare the next generation for the harsh life as a leaf ninja. There were of course multiple requirements for admission.

1.Love the village and hope to help preserve peace and prosperity.

2.Have a mind that will not yield, able to endure hard training and work.

3.Be healthy in mind and body.

Sadly, mostly clan children ended up graduating each year due to their more specialized training with clan techniques and such. It didnt help that since the death of the second hokage, the requirements for admission and graduation started to become easier and easier. This was mostly caused by the civillian council that hoped to make more civillians into shinobi to make them gain them more prestige and money.

The crux of the problem, in the end, is the fact that they began to romanticize the shinobi lifestyle. Save princesses, capture tyrants, and save countries. These are the things that many who enters the academy believes would become their jobs after they graduate, yet most still ends up in the genin reserves when they were unable to get a sensei to train and guide them on missions.

In the end many retire from the shinobi lifestyle at an early age once they gain their first kill since they were never taught the proper coping techniques in the academy. Just like they were never taught the truth behind shinobi.

Stealing, killing and lying is what put food on their table every day.

They simply.... break.

Yet here Naomi stood, ready for her first day at the very same institution. She had passed the academy entrance exams the week before. They simply tested their academic levels, nothing else, which she found hilarious since this was a school for killers, not librarians. But what could she do?

She merely shrugged her shoulders before entering the school. She had often thought about how to enter without her identity being detected. What did she come up with? Simply give a false surname and cover her face. She ended up writing the name Naomi Uzunami. Not the most creative, but she did get to enter anyways. As for the mask, well, if Kakashi could finish the academy while wearing one, why couldnt she?

She had put on a black skin-tight sleeveless shirt which reached into a mask. (Imagine the one Kakashi wears.) With a red hoodie on top. She also wore black shinobi pants with bandages tied to her right leg, and black sandals. Her hair tied in a ponytail.

While she walked inside, she had eavesdropped on the parents´ conversations from all around her. Catching a few words like `Demon´, `Heroic shinobi´, and more often than not, `Prestige´. They simply sent their children to the academy to give them more of it. She could only shake her head at the foolish parents who didnt even realize they were sending a few of their kids to their deaths.

But she threw them out of her thoughts as she entered her classroom. She had managed to get into the class containing the different clan heirs.

Which means, she would be in class with the "Rookie 9".

She looked around the room, and noticed that there were already quite a few who had arrived. She recognized a few of them.

Ami - The boastful girl that used to play with Ino and Sakura as children.

Sakura Haruno - The female member of team 7 from the anime and manga. She was deemed the most useless among the graduating students until she managed to become the student of Tsunade Senju.

Ino Yamanaka - The heiress of the Yamanaka clan which specializes in mind jutsu.

Shino Aburame - The heir to the Aburame clan which specializes in bugs. They have a hive implanted into their body at birth. They are also often shunned due to their bugs and their stoic attitudes.

Choji Akimichi - The heir of the Akimichi clan. They have a special branch of ninjutsu that allows them to expand their bodies, and more or less become giants. This costs them quite a bit of calories, so they are often seen eating. They are however often bullied due to their physique, so never call one fat unless you are suicidal.

Shikamaru Nara - The heir to the Nara clan. They are both the most intellectual, and the laziest people in the village. They specialize in shadow ninjutsu. They are often paired in the ino-shika-cho formation due to the nature of the Yamanaka, Akimichi and Nara clans techniques.

Kiba Inuzuka - The younger son of the Inuzuka clan head, Tsume Inuzuka. Their clan has beast like appearences and are always recognizeable due to having fang like tattoos on their cheeks. They are known to use ninken, or ninja dogs, as partners for their techniques.

Hinata Hyuga - The current heiress of the Hyuga clan. They are known for their dojutsu, or ocular jutsu, the byakugan, capable of near perfect 360 degrees vision and ability to see chakrapoints inside their opponents body. They are masters of the Juuken, a taijutsu style that shuts down your chakra points on contact, making them feared as some of the deadliest at taijutsu. They do however have internal problems in the clan due to the main and branch houses being seperated with the caged bird seal that essentially makes the branch house slaves.

Sasuke Uchiha - The youngest son of the Uchiha clan head, Fugaku Uchiha, and younger brother of the prodigious Itachi Uchiha.The Uchiha clan are known for their dojutsu, or ocular jutsu, the sharingan, capable of predicting movement, copy nin-tai and genjutsu. It is also capable of casting powerful genjutsu by itself.

Seeing them all in real life felt so weird to Naomi. She had long since come to terms with this life of hers, but this, once again, made it all the more real. She shook her head and headed to the seat at the back of the classroom where she found a seat, and sat down while taking out a book on fuuinjutsu, and just sat there, not making anyone notice her presence.

Everyone else walked around and talked to one another, excited for the start of class. If Naomi had to describe the scene in the room, it would be chaotic. And thats what the chunin instructor walked in to see. He was a young man with tanned skin, brown hair in a pineapple style ponytail and a scar across his nose. He stood at the front of the class, just taking note of everyone present while slowly gaining more and more tick marks on his forehead. After nearly five minutes had passed, he had enough and used what could almost be seen as an Akimishi jutsu, the big head jutsu.

"Everyone, quiet!" He yelled.

He got everyones attention on himself as his head slowly returned to normal.

`I wonder if he would be willing to teach me that.´ Naomi thought while continuing to read her book.

"I know you all are excited to start here at the academy, but you need to remember that this is a school for shinobi, not a place where you run around and yell." He said, making some of said students to hang their heads a bit. The chunin simply sighed before giving the class a smile.

"Just get to your seats and we can begi-" He didnt manage to finish what he was saying before the door to the class slammed open, revealing a young boy clad in an orange jumpsuit with yellow hair and three whisker marks on each cheek.

Naruto Uzumaki (Namikaze) - The jinchuuriki of the kyuubi. He hails from the Uzumaki clan of Uzushiogakure who specialized in fuuinjutsu before their destruction during the second shinobi war. He is the son of Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze, the fourth hokage, as well as the twin brother of Naomi. Although he knows nothing about all of the mentioned information.

The chunin once again sighed.

"Just, take a seat. And make sure to get on time from now on." He said in an exhasperated tone.

Naruto merely grinned sheepishly and started to head to the back of the class while the other students merely laughed at him. He reached the back where Naomi sat and looked a bit hesitant before opening his mouth.

"Hey, uh, you mind if I sit here?" He asked in a bit of a subdued tone. Naomi only swore in her head, and without turning her head answered the nervous boy.

"Sure, go ahead. And like sensei said, make sure to get here on time from now on."

Naruto grinned happily and sat down next to her. The others however had turned their head so fast towards her direction that she almost thought they broke their necks. Many murmured to themselves about when she got there, or how long she had been there.

"H-how long have you sat there?" A stuttering Kiba asked the reading girl. She lifted her head and looked straight at the boy.

"About half an hour now." She simply stated before going back to her book. The others was shocked, even the chunin at the front sweatdropped at the girls actions, but he just sighed again with a feeling that he would sigh quite a lot during the coming years.

"Now then, since thats over with. My name is Iruka Umino and I´m going to be your teacher for the next few years. Now lets have a quick introduction from each of you."

"Hi I´m Hana."

"Kosuke."

And it went on for a while, with everyone giving their names. Naomi didnt care anyway since she wouldnt have anything to do with any of them anyway. But then came the rookie 9.

"Kiba Inuzuka!" He yelled boisterously.

"Sakura Haruno."

"Ino Yamanaka."

"*Yawn* Troublesome. Names Shikamaru *Yawn* Nara." The whole class sweatdropped.

"Uh, okay then *crunch, crunch*, I´m Choji Akimichi."

"I-I´m Hinata H-Hyuga."

"Shino Aburame." The class could swear they heard a buzzing sound coming from the stoic boy at his introduction.

"Names Sasuke, Sasuke Uchiha." Multiple girls, including the Yamanaka and Haruno got what seemed like hearts in their eyes. The boy however just scoffed.

"Ooh, me me. I´m Naruto Uzumaki, the next hokage!" The loud blonde exclaimed, making most of the class laugh at him. He shrunk back in his seat a bit, so Naomi decided to save the boy some face and introduced herself.

"Naomi Uzunami..... A pleasure....."
